Why is my automation tools greyed out in photoshop 10?
II'm trying to batch my photos. However my automation tool is greyed. I have never used this before.
Well, you could try opening them all in the raw converter and using then noise reduction there, if that will do it. When you select multiple images in the strip on the left side of the window, changes made to one image apply to all selected photos, and you can open other formats than raw there, like tiff or jpg.
But otherwise, you are up against one of adobe's big brick walls between PSE and PS. They will not allow actions to run on more than one image at a time.
I've heard some people say that they've had success with Dr Brown's image processor, as another alternative, although I've not tried it.

Sometimes, depending on the scripts and such, the automation tools tools menu will be greyed out unless you have an image open. -

Please excuse my lack of knowledge with Photoshop Elements 12. I am sorry that I am not understanding your question regarding "an active, un-simplified shape in my image." The example I can give from previous use of the shape tools including the arrow, is if I scanned a item into Elements I was always able to use the arrow tool. Now when I open a jpeg picture I select Shape Selection Tool icon on the left side of my screen and all of the shapes such as Eclipse, Custom Shape, Rectangular, Polygon, etc are all useable except the arrow which is greyed out. This is about the best way I can describe my situation. I hope I have made myself more clear to you so that I can help you advise me how I can use my arrow tool again as I have in the past.

There are some hardware requirements for the new software capabilities. To be able to use the 3D features in Photoshop, it is required that you have a video card that is atleast 512mb. To check what kind of video card capability you have, goto Help --> System Info. From there, you should see 'Video Card Memory: __MB'. If your memory card is only 256mb, it will not be able to handle the 3D features.

it was not before, but I needed to wipe my computer, and reload all my software.
Yes, I do have onOne Perfect Photo Suite 6. Before I bought the Suite, I used a free program they offered. I also had Perfect Portrait installed. At that time the automation tools were not grayed out. But due to a computer glitch, my OS (windows 7) needed to be reinstalled. I then reloaded all of my software, including the new Suite 6. That is when the automation tools got grayed out.

Generally the automation tools menu is resevered for legacy plugins, scripts or third party plugins.In the default install of elements, at least in recent versions, the automation tools menu is grayed out. Did you have any third party plugins installed like onOne plugins?

How do i synch my pdf/books to my Itunes library. I was able to synch my ipod touch app purchases by transferring them but can't figure out how to do my pdfs. Also why is my ipod picture greyed out-the one that lets my move the icons around.
I am afraid if i don't get the pdfs into my book library, i will lose them when i update to IOS 5-is that true?thank you-i have to check into the authorization and the account-i gave my husband my old ipod when i updated last year so both at one time have been on this computer but as it stands, it only comes up with my device when i plug into Itunes.
i don't think i have any restrictions for installing apps although my normal way of doing it is to download from the ipod touch. i did find that all i had to do was right click on my device name and got the message to transfer my apps and then they showed up in my library. Also when i clicked the synch checkbox i was able to view the ipod touch picture without it being greyed out. after all that i was able toupdate to IOS 5 successfully except my videos and podcast, and pdfs did not come over. This confuses me since i had dragged them over to my library to make sure that i had everything in my library and on my device. Not a big problem, since i just dragged them in itunes from my library to my device but sometimes i wonder if i understand the big picture:) -
Using the Android Reader app, why is the signature option greyed out?
I have a client that has enlisted me to create 3 fillable PDF forms. I used FormsCentral to create these fillable forms, then I saved them as PDFs to my Dropbox. I opened the Adobe Reader app on my Tablet, and access the forms. As for the client, they are home builders, and these 3 forms are 3 different stages of the building process. They are using them to interact with the new homeowner. They want to do this on Samsung Note 10.1 tablets with Verizon data. There are 3 issues I am faced with fixing:
1. The signing process is quite a process. Meaning too many clicks to setup and apply a digital signature according to the customer. And that is on a PC, because I am unable to use the "signature" function - the button is greyed out. Why is that?
2. Once we resolve the above issue, then will there be a way to "lock" the form so that the customer's responses and selections are unchangeable? If so, how?
3. Once the form is signed and "locked" (if possible), what is the simplest way to send the form via e-mail? I ask because they want there to be a way to setup the form to e-mail copies to the addresses that are entered into an e-mail field on the form. Sort of "auto-populate" the addresses as well as be able to set a predetermined address (back to their office) so that the results may be sent via mobile instantly upon completion.
I know that is a lot to ask. Your help would be most appreciated!

You used FormsCentral to create fillable forms and exported to PDF. When exporting FormsCentral forms to PDF forms, FormsCentral adds "extended rights" to PDF forms so that users can fill out the PDF forms in Adobe Reader (which is a PDF viewer, not a PDF editor).
The current version (11.5.0) of Adobe Reader for Android does not allow signatures to be added to any "Reader Extended" PDF documents (including forms). We are actively investigating and trying to resolve the problem.
(2) Is there a way to "lock" a PDF form?
You can "flatten" a PDF form after the form has been filled out and signed by a customer. Once flattened, it's not possible to change filled data or signatures. When you try to email a filled PDF form (optionally with a signature), Adobe Reader for iOS will present the E-mail Document dialog with two options: "Send Original Document" and "Send Flattened Copy". You can choose the "Send Flattened Copy" option.
Unfortunately, the feature has not been supported in Adobe Reader for Android yet.
(3) What is the easiest way to send a "flattened" copy via email?
Because the issues 1 & 2 above have not been resolved, you are not able to do this in Adobe Reader for Android. However, you can do this in Adobe Reader for iOS.
First, you need to add a Submit button to your PDF form. I am not sure if you can do this in FormsCentral. But you can use Adobe Acrobat (a paid product) to add a Submit button.
Setting action buttons > Add a submit button
When your customer taps the Submit button in the PDF form, Adobe Reader (for iOS - for now) will present thee same E-mail Document dialog. Once the "Send Flattened Copy" option is selected, Reader will launch the default Mail app and auto-populate email address(es) specified for the Submit button action.

Why is EXPORT to Quicktime "greyed" out? GB3?
Wondering why export to quicktime is greyed out.
In addition, is there anyway to export tracks individually?
Thank you!FWIW, I know the work around, export to iTUNES, drag to desktop (if preferences are set up right, in iTUNES) it will be a AIFF file.
Just want to know why quicktime is greyed out unless of course it needs video or images in order to work as export to quicktime!

When you go to System Preferences > Sound what does it say for Output? Have you had headphones plugged in? Sometimes the headphone jack gets stuck thinking it has something plugged in when there isn't anaything there. SMC also has something to do with Sound:

Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
Wait 15 seconds.
Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset. -
Why is my iPhoto library greyed out in the Screensaver folder selection dialog on one iMac but not my other?
I have an update to my issue above, with a Semi-solution found. I brought my Macbook Air back to the Genus bar today and they were able to identify (using “Activity Monitor”) that when the particular iPhoto library was being launched through iPhoto both Photostream and iPhoto's CPU% usage was excessively high (between 100% - 200% each). She discovered that if we turn off Photostream in iCloud settings iPhoto then behaved fast and snappy and CPU% came back down to a healthier level. When we turned Photostream back on the problem continued. After an hour of trying to trouble shoot why Photostream was causing the issue they recommended I keep Photostream turned off until a future software update/fix comes out. The particular Genus I worked with was not familiar with this issue. Why is my photo stream greyed out in the iCloud Control Panel?
I had the same problem. I think it must be caused by the fact that i bought a charger in Apple Store Tokyo, and then entered my email address on the warranty form. Ever since emails in Japanese started appearing. When I now enabled Shared Photo Streams, my friends got invitations from me in Japanese too.
I was looking everywhere for language settings, but they all seemed in order. On iCloud that is.
It turns out it was the language settings on my apple-ID, not my iCloud-ID that was wrong, after a purchase at Apple Store Tokyo. Who would have thought that these two IDs were related? Or maybe they should be, but then why are they not even more integrated? Duplicate language settings?
This solved the problem:
1. Log into appleid.apple.com
2. Set the language.
The real problem however, is that Apple changed my language after a visit to an Apple Store. Come on! I already had a Norwegian apple-ID, a Norwegian credit card, and a Norwegian address. What could possibly make you think that I suddenly spoke Japanese? Ever happened that a tourist visited an Apple Store? Companies needs to learn that customers can make their own decisions, and often do, or want to do it, if they are allowed to do so. Examples of features that was designed not considering this fact: The play button on a Mac always launching iTunes, even though I'm already playing music in Spotify (and never use iTunes for music). Or Spotifys obsession with reporting everything you listen to, turning off the Private Session after 6 hours, so you have to make that setting every time you start playing music. -

The FILE Menu was <u>'''''not'''''</u> greyed out in SAFE MODE.
I only had one THEME, the DEFAULT one, which I was using.
I disabled a few ADD-ONS and that solved the problem. They should check them first. I don't have time right now, or I'd do it myself. Later, maybe.
