• My iPhone 3GS battery is running down too quickly

In the last few days, my iPhone has started running down *very* quickly. I have been running iOS 6.1 for ages without any problems. Could this all of a sudden cause problems like this?
I have disabled mobile data and 3GS and just left the clock, calendar and reminders running, but this has not helped. It was 100% charged when I went to sleep last night, and when I woke up this morning it was down to 20%.
Can anyone advise me on a way to fix this please?

Really... took me all of a minute to find http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802 which reveals:
Battery life seems short
Note: Charging with a FireWire-based power source is not supported, except on original iPhone.
Click ( www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html) for tips on how to prolong iPhone's battery life.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and restore iPhone.
If the screen shows a low-battery image, the battery is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
When charging iPhone, make sure to leave it charging until it is fully charged. You'll know the battery is fully charged when the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen looks like this .
Note: When charging using a computer, don't connect iPhone to a keyboard. Also, the computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPhone battery may drain.

• The iPhone 4S battery runs down very quickly. Does anyone else have this problem?

The battery in my new iPhone 4s runs down very quickly. Does anyone else have this problem?

Location services is NOT running all the time, only when the arrow appears in the message bar. It is not a major consumer of power unless you are actively using it (such as using the Maps app), and even then it is a minor factor in battery life; loading maps is the big user of power in the Maps app. And turning off Location Services defeats Find my iPhone.
There are only 2 heavy battery consumers, cellular data and interactive games. Everything else (bluetooth, location services, WiFi, etc) are tiny in comparison to these and will not make a significant difference in battery life.

I guess I should have asked for the "definitive" fix. I read several "fixes" but it seems no one knows if Apple has a definitive fix. Kind of like going into an Apple store and getting three different answers from three different reps. At least they are not rude and no, I don't have a problem searching the forum.

• My iPad is a few years old but my battery is running down very quickly even when not in use? I have about 16% usage still available !

My iPad is a few years old but the battery is running down very quickly, is there anything I can do ?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Those are not normal unless you are using apps that use a lot of power (like games & GPS apps).
Take it to an Apple store for a free consultation or take it back to where you purchased it. Make a backup in iTunes or iCloud before you go incase it needs to be exchanged.
It should have warranty for a year or more depending on your country & if you purchased Applecare.
I would also suggest you leave it powered off if it always gets hot & store it somewhere away from flammable materials – damaged batteries can be a fire risk.

• Is it better for your battery if you let it run down all the way and then charge it? Or to charge it whenever you have the opportunity? Which is better for the life of the battery?

I was wondering it the life of the battery would last longer if you let the battery run down all the way and then charge it? Or to charge it whenever you have the opportunity even if it doesn't have a low battery? Which is better for the life of the battery and prolong the life of the battery?

I've had a iPhone 4s since March 2012, and it's battery is pretty useless now. I was using the app Battery Doctor (Battery Saver, Battery Life) by Beijing Kingsoft Internet Security software, which encourages the user to charge more often, whenever battery life drops below 100% full and greater than 20% full, and gives ratings according to the number of full, partial & overcharges done, but I'm concerned that charging like that actually results in worse battery life??
I now have an new iPhone 5 and don't want the battery to only last as short as the last one did
Any advice/comments please

• Why is battery running down so quickly on IPad mini

My battery runs down to 31%within 4 hours of use. I play a few games of candy crush, check mail and do a few Internet searches. iPad is less than 6 months old. Anyone with similar problems or suggestions?

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.

I have iPod touch 4G. My battery started to runs out very quickly compare the past. I would appreciate your tips.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

• Why is my battery all of a sudden taking so long to charge?

I changed a setting in the preferences to Never put the computer in sleep because i was charging an ipod two days ago. But, i forgot about the setting and basically left it running all night. Now the little led on my battery wont blink or anything, and my batery says it needs well over an hour to fully charge. Any of that normal or did i sufficiently ^& up my battery?

I think you completely depleted your battery juice and therefor it need longer time to back to fully charged.

• Battery All Of A Sudden Drains Way To Quickly?

iPhone 3GS around 14 months old can no longer seem to hold a charge. It was at 100% when I went to sleep and at 11% around 9 hours later. This is just sitting at idle with no calls or use at all! I just put it on the charger and let it get back up to 100%' then set it on the desk, and agin with no usage at all I checked it an hour later and it read 69%?

I think there are 3 or 4 threads out here for the same thing..Look for those. There are things suggested that may help. If you try all these other suggestions and are still having drain issues, restore as a new phone, and don't add anything back yet. Just browse web, youtube, maps, txt, etc for a while, as well as standby...Let it go for as long as possible, and see how your battery holds up. If it's not ok at this point, then do a DFU mode restore. If that still doesn't fix it, then I'd say it's a trip to the Apple store for you...If this fixes the issue, then add back ONLY 1 thing at a time. Mail first usually, and watch for a while to see if it drains again. If not, proceed to next item(apps 1 at a time). After each added item, watch for a while to see if it drains ok. Should be able to narrow it down to the culprit. I know this takes quite a while to accomplish, so patience is needed, but as has been previously stated, it's usually bad or corrupted data in a backup that causes this...I had posted in another thread of same issues here. I was fine after the 4.2.1 update for quite a while(enjoying almost 3.1.3 battery life), then for reasons yet to be determined, mine started draining. I went into Settings where the Tethering item is located, and it was constantly clocking on that. Usually it clocks for a few seconds, then says Setup Tethering. Well mine was stuck there, so i think it was constantly using something. A hard reset cleared it, but I still have to try and figure out why it did that. I just don't have the time right now. I will most likely try as restore as new phone at some point. Apple did something though, because like I said, I'm enjoying almost 3.1.3 battery life now. I think it may have to do with cell radio, as I've seen something about NCFD being supported now in 4.2.

There is a thin blue line running vertically down my imac screen a little to the right of the centre. It disappeared for a while - i think after I tapped a certain key - but then re-appeared and will not go away. What is it? How do I get rid of it? Mark
