Why is my bookmark properties dialog so large on a dual monitor machine?

I am not sure if this is related to having dual monitors or not, but on my machine, when I open the properties dialog for a bookmark, it spans across monitors and the dialog is huge.
How do I shrink this back down to the original size?
I will be attaching the image as a reply to this post, if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Joe

  • VI Properties dialog is slow

Has anyone experienced this with LV 8.5?  I have a large project open, and when I try to pull up the "VI Properties" dialog box it takes between 10 to 15 seconds to open.  It is a large DSC-based project (whether that has any relevance).
    Thanks,
    David Moerman

    Hi Yi
I am currently using LV7.1.1f2 on three different machines, each with Daq 4.3 or 4.4. (The reason I am not using 8.5 is I am awaiting a graph bug fix). Each has WXP SP2 with latest updates. This slow opening of VI Properties dialog box has bedeviled me for years. Until today, I have just lived with it, getting frustrated each time. I have found that it appears randomly on different machines (I have used perhaps 15-20 with LV). Today I decided to see if anyone else has the same problem. Here are my findings:
    1. Laptop (Dell M90, Intel dual core, 2 GB Ram) (See SysProps file, attached): It does not matter whether the CPU is idle or not, not what the size of the VI is. I created two empty VIs (A and B). Each time I rt clicked the icon and selected VI Properties, then timed it to see how long it took for the dialog box to appear. (I later I emptied the recycle bin - no change).
    Test1
    Open Vi A: Delay = 5 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi A: Delay = <1 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi A: Delay = <1 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi A: Delay = <1 sec

    Test2

    Open Vi A: Delay = 5 sec
    Test3
    Open Vi A: Delay = 5 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi B: Delay = <1 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi B: Delay = <1 sec

    Open Vi A: Delay = <1 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi A: Delay = <1 sec
    Wait about 1 sec
    Open Vi A: Delay = 5 sec
    Conclusions:
    1. If one waits longer than say 5 sec between trying to open Vi Props, the delay is always present.
    2. If one opens the VI props on same or another VI within a second or so, the delay disappears for a few times (2-4 maybe) then reappears.
    2. Desktop PCs: Both AMD Dual Core 4200 XPs.
No delay  in opening VI properties in either case. In one case, the PC was running a bunch of LV apps which were using 30% of the total CPU%. The VI Props Dialog box still opened instantly, many times in a row, or first time after a long delay.

  • Import/Export Properties Dialog Box

I am trying to launch the import/export properties dialog box but the only item under the Tools menu is Customize. How can I get to the import/export properties dialog?
I am using TestStand 4.2 and have tried reinstalling.

    Hi,
I don't know why you don't see it already but I have a suggestion...
I'm using 4.1 but maybe you can create a new menu item using settings similiar to mine.
    Item Text Expression: ResStr("DATABASE_TOOL_MENU", "IMPORT_EXPORT_DESCRIPTION")
    Enable Expression: PropertyExists("RunState.InitialSelection.SelectedFile") && GetNumElements( RunState.InitialSelection.SelectedSequences ) > 0 &&  CurrentUserHasPrivilege("Develop.EditSequenceFile
    Sequence File: GenericImportExport.seq
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 4.1.1\Components\Tools\GenericImportExport.seq
(replace your own version of TestStand)
    Sequence: ImportExport
    Hope this helps.

Hi musicfan,<br />Sorry you are having problems with Firefox. Maybe you should have asked earlier and we could have fixed it.
Reading your comments I do not see that rolling back to an insecure Firefox 22 will actually help you much. You are probably best using IE, unless you have also damaged that.
    *[[Export bookmarks to Internet Explorer]]
You should not use old versions they are insecure. Security fixes are publicised and exploitable.
    * [[Install an older version of Firefox]]
    * https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html
Most others will not be having such problems. We are now able to say that with confidence because after developers missed a regression in Firefox 4 telemetry was introduced so that data was obtained. It may be an idea to turn on your telemetry, if you have not already done so, and decide to stick with Firefox.

Trying safe mode takes seconds. Unfortunatly if you are not willing to do even rudimentary troubleshooting there is not anything we can do to help you.

  • In Object Properties dialog box, modify "tab path"...

For FrameMaker versions up to and including 8 (and I suspect 9).
Select a graphic, then click in sequence
ESC g o to open the
Object Properties dialog box. By default the dialog box opens with the insertion point in the
    Width text entry area.
Now press TAB four times: The insertion point moves sequentially to the
    Height,
    Top,
    Left, and then
    Color text entry areas.
I wish the last movement, to the
Color text entry area, was replaced with movement to the
Percent text entry area. This would enable me to use the keyboard to efficiently configure the size, position, and scaling of a graphic.
As it is, I virtually never need to select the graphic's
Color text entry area and the movement of the insertion point to that essentially useless tool drives me crazy: It makes me TAB all the way 'round the dialog box or grab the pointing device to get it to the
    Percent text entry area...
    Cheers,
    Riley

Odd... What does your properties dialog look like? Can you post a screenshot of the dialog box? Also, what version of LabVIEW are you running?

  • Report file properties dialog on MS Vista

    Post Author: DCox
    CA Forum: General
My company runs and distributes CR v11.x as part of our application currently running on XP.  We are migrating our application to Vista.  Our application, written in PowerBuilder v10.5, reads some of the user-defined file properties of the report (.rpt) file via the OLE API.  On XP, the specific properties I need to see are on the Summary tab of the properties dialog you get by right-clicking the .rpt file in the XP Windows Explorer.
Our application uses the Title, Subject Keywords and Comments properties in XP to build a Tree of available reports in our application.  These properties are not displayed in Vista's property dialog for CR report files built on XP and copied to Vista.  Is there a version of CR that will display these properties?  Our application retrieves these properties on Vista but they are not visible in the Vista properties dialog.
Also, is there information about the CR API (for Vista) that will show me how to access the MS OLEDocumentProperties SummaryProperties and CustomProperties?
    Any assistance is appreciated.

That is an excellent find. I would definitely let Apple know.

  • Why are my bookmarks not being saved locally if the save to cloud feature is disabled?

Why are my bookmarks not being saved locally on my ipad mini if the save to cloud feature is disabled?

They should be. If you have lost bookmarks try restarting Safari:
    1. Press the Home button
    2. Double click the Home button to bring up the "Recent Apps" tray.
    3. Touch and hold on the Safari icon in the "Recent Apps" tray until a "-" appears.
    4. Touch the "-" to terminate Safari.
    5. Restart Safari and see if your Bookmarks are back.

  • Can i place controls from the properties dialog of an express vi on the front panel?

I'm using the spectral measurements express vi in my vi and I'd like to put the "window" and "number of averages" controls from the properties dialog on the front panel. However, there are not outputs on the express vi icon for these parameters. Can I place controls for these on the front panel somehow or do I always have to go into the block diagram and open the properties dialog to change the values?

The way to do this is to right click on the express VI and select Open Front Panel. This will convert it to a standard subVI. then go into the subVI and replace the Spectrum Averaging and Spectrum Window constants to front panel controls by right click on them. Right click the icon and select Show Connector. Wire the new controls to a free terminal on the connector. You may have to add additional terminals if there aren't any available to wire to the new controls.

  • Multiple tag fields in page properties dialog

Is there a way to have multiple tag fields in the page properties dialog and have them work with the default TagManager API?  From what I've tried so far it looks like anything that is not in the root jcr:content node of a page or asset doesn't apply the cq:Taggable mixin to it.  We are trying to spread out our structure of tags across fields so that authors don't have to navigate through multiple heirarchies. We are worries about that list becoming unwieldly to manage.
I'm not against doing some customiziation but it looks like the TagManager will only utilize fields named cq:tags in its query.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to add multiple editable fields in the page in SharePoint online 2013.
Here is a solution for your reference:
    1. We can create a Custom List and add some fields in it.
    2. Create a Datasheet View in this List.
    3. Add this Custom List(as an app part) into the page you want.
    4. Edit this App Part and set its view as Datasheet View.
If I misunderstand what you mean, please provide more details on your requirement(picture would be better).

how do you get the text box text properties dialog box to appear in Adobe Reader XI on a MAC? I know windows is Ctrl-E but can't figure out what to hit for Mac.

Right-click the toolbar and you should find it there (including the short-cut, which is probably Cmd+E).

Na, i don't think that this is purely related to Windows 7. At least on my Windows 7 machine, it does not display the dialog as seen in the screenshot.
Therefore, we have to dig in what possible reasons could be.
The screenshot shows the step properties of a Tcl step from the NI example opened in the NI Sequence Editor in the type palette. weltaran states that it does appear for every step type there, but is limited to step property dialogs in the type palette (that's what i understood).

  • How can I restore my bookmarks properties?

A few days ago, I installed XMarks extension in Firefox and Chrome to sync my bookmarks between the two browsers. I just noticed that all of my Firefox boomarks properties have been deleted (I used the bookmarks properties to save password data occasionally) and I'm wondering if there is a way to restore the bookmarks properties - perhaps doing a System Restore to a prior checkpoint?
