Why is my cd not recognized

After I get down importing content from audio CD and Eject the CD, the next CD to load is not recognized in iTunes Devices window - What gives?

In the past I imported over 1500 cds into iTunes without any problem, but when I just now checked one cd, it was recognized as an audio cd only and listed all the tracks as 'track 01', etc.
Checking some ten cds it turned out, that only two of them were recognized, i.e. all data from the cd were read into iTunes.
The cds are all regular and official.
The reason must lie with iTunes (version 11.0.1 (12))

When I plug in my phone in the computer to charge or update apps, my phone is being recognized as another phone name or device in our household. In ITunes under devices is shows my name to my phone. Just not sure why the computer is not recognizing my name with my phone in devices. Does it matter or should I be concerned?

  • Why is my nano not recognized by PC suddenly?

My 1st gen Nano 4GB works just fine playing music that is already on it. But I got the "USB device not recognized" message when plug it in my Dell PC at work. My computer simply doesn’t see the nano whatsoever! HOWEVER, my 30GB video works just fine with the same computer/iTune (7.5) by using the same USB cable. I then tried both the nano and video at home and I got the duplicated result...
The nano was sitting in the drawer for the past 5 months since last music loading and it can't be damaged by any means. It can be charged by the USB cable either to the PC or AC adaptor. All the 5R's and other suggested methods did not solve this problem. How the heck in the world and all the sudden that my nano just stop communicating with computer? Did Apple manufactured in a hidden timer to set off the nano therefore it can't be recognized by PC... so I have to buy another iPod???
    Message was edited by: Host

I took the nano to a local Apple (25 mile) and explained the problem; the guy listened briefly and told me to sign up for the genius bar. Two days later I drove back to Apple for the genius bar appointment, she basically told me that I was SOL, I can either get my nano fixed for $80 or trade it in for a 10% off new nano. I told her that this is really bad and I might not buying Apple again. I guess she did not care much since Apple store was packed of customers and business is still good these days...
Thanks for some of you shared your experiences; at least I am not alone for this problem. Also like Darkside0418 said "these forums dont help much" other than getting treated like idiot and bonehead for expressing doubts to Apple... (Why is this your business even you are a regular contributor???) I wish the host did not modify the original post because it does not change my doubts to Apple.

My computer is not recognizing that my phone is plugged in... It will charge it, but it won't download my pictures or show that it is even connected on my devices. I have updated all my itunes stuff and restarted my computed. What do I do?

  • Why is my computer not recognizing my apple id?

My husband purchased a MacBook Pro last week.  We did the setup at the Apple Store and ever since have had continual problems with the computer recognizing, or in this case NOT recognizing, his Apple ID.  The ID and password have been changed 3 times now.  Is this a computer problem, an iCloud problem, or what?  To be honest, I'm pretty frustrated right now and ready to pitch the whole thing out the window.

Everytime I hook up my ipod nano to my computer it says device not recognized. I've tried using all troubleshooting advice, I've tried using all USB connections on my computer, I've continually uninstalled itunes and reinstalled the current itunes, I've checked all firewalls, all security settings, and my anti virus protection, and authorized my computer for itune use. Hello rebakahloper,
It sounds like you are getting a messages saying your device could not be recongized correctly. You've done a great amount of troubleshooting, and I dont know if you have done these steps specifically, but I recommend the following troubleshooting:
iPod nano: Error message saying that iPod 'could not be identified properly'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3218
Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
iPod nano requires Apple Mobile Device Support, which should be automatically installed with iTunes. To verify whether it is installed, follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.
Windows XP: Click Start and select Control Panel. Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click Start and select Control Panel. Click Uninstall a program (or if using Windows Vista's Classic View of the Control Panel, click Programs and Features) and verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is visible in the list of currently installed programs.
If Apple Mobile Device Support is not listed, remove iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, and Apple Application Support, and then reinstall iTunes. Follow the steps appropriate for your Windows operating system below.
    Reinstall iTunes for Windows XP
Reinstall iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If Apple Mobile Device Support is still not installed, follow the steps in this article.
    Verify the device's USB connection
Disconnect all USB devices from the system with the exception of the iPod nano and any USB keyboard and mouse. Then restart your computer.
Verify that you are using a high-powered USB 2.0 port. Do not use a USB hub to connect your iPod.Determine whether your computer has USB 2.0.
Test with an alternate iPod USB cable if one is available. Remove any USB extension cables, and verify that the iPod USB cable is connected directly to the computer.
Verify that the Apple Mobile Device Service and iPod service are both running
iPod nano (5th and 6th generation) require both the Apple Mobile Device Service and iPod service.
Refer to this article to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service.
Next, refer to this article in the section titled "Restart the iPod Service".
Verify that the Apple Mobile Device Driver is installed
iPod nano (5th and 6th generation) requires the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver (usbaapl.inf or usbaapl64.inf for 64-bit). In some cases, you may need to update or reinstall this driver. Follow this article, in the section titled "Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed".If the issue remains, repeat this step in safe mode. To start your computer in safe mode, see the appropriate Microsoft article below, depending on which version of Windows you have:
    Safe mode for Windows XP
    Safe mode for Windows Vista
    Safe mode for Windows 7
Once in safe mode, repeat the steps in this article in the section titled "Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed." Once complete, restart your computer as usual to get out of safe mode.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • Why is my ipod not recognized in itunes and content appears to be lost

I recently connected my ipod to charge, when itunes did not come up I found that it was open by another user on our pc. I went to close itunes from there session But it was frozen. I had to press control alt delete to end task. When it closed I opened it back up in my windows session and found all my content was lost and it didn't recognize my ipod. itunes wants to reset all settings to factory and delete any content that may still be on there. When the ipod is ejected it shows nothing on there but when i plug it in show my ipod name, and some content appears to still be there, in my computer in usb port (G:). Please help I hope I didn't loose all my music!!!

  • Why is my iPhone not recognized on my USB port?

When I try to connect my iPhone 3G to my computer absolutley NOTHING happens. No error message no beeping from windows that it detects a connection, and I definitely cannot see it in my iTunes. I have tried restarting the phone, resetting the phone, restarting the computer, restarting the computer with my phone connected, reinstalling iTunes/Quicktime, plugging the cord into different ports on my computer (not my keyboard) and still nothing. I have an external drive with a USB port connection that is recognized when I plug it in the same USB ports. One would think it was the USB cord but the strange thing is I can use the same USB cord plugged into my phone and the adapter in the wall and it charges. I just can't update the software or add songs to my iPhone.
    Anybody know what's going on?

Ok so I tried creating a new user account with administrative priviledges on the same computer and still nothing. I called apple tech support and spent about an hour on the phone with them and they are baffled as to why this is happening too. Their only suggestion was to replace the phone. So unless someone else has had this same problem and knows hows to fix it, or just knows of something that apple doesn't, I'm screwed!
Just out of curiosity, I tried connecting my phone to another computer to get the 2.2 update and it worked. So I updated my phone's software and tried plugging it in again and still nothing. Also, I tried connecting someone elses iPhone 3G to my computer with the same USB cord and my computer recognized their phone. So it must just be my phone and my computer don't like each other for some reason!
Here's the full scenario before the connection issue (just in case someone knows something I don't):
I was having problems updating my iTunes to version 8.0.2. It wouldn't fully install quicktime and without quicktime you can't run iTunes, in fact, iTunes won't even open. I got an error message that said I needed to repair or reinstall quicktime. So I completely deleted iTunes and quicktime software from my computer and reinstalled the version that is downloadable from apple's website (which is NOT 8.0.2). I got it loaded and alas iTunes finally opened. So I connected my phone and started updating to the 2.2 version of iPhone software. Then a window popped up saying I needed iTunes version 8.0.2. So I started that download as well. Then I walked away to let it download the updates needed for my phone and iTunes. I came back 20 min later and my computer had restarted itself (I'm assuming after the iTunes update it did that) and was at the login screen. So I logged in and my iPhone would then not connect to my computer after that. I unplugged and plugged it back in and I got a beeping noise but not the normal beeping noise a computer makes when you connect the USB cable. It beeped three times in the same lower tone instead of the 2 beep 2 tone you normally get. I realize in hind site that was probably not a good idea but I asked the apple tech I talked to and he said that shouldn't have been a problem even if the 2.2 iPhone update hadn't fully installed and had been interrupted. So there's my full story! Thanks for helping me out!!

  • Why is my printer not recognized by my computer?

I recently replaced my apple airport extreme 3rd generation with an optimum smart router. My network is now up and running. When I plugged in my HP Photosmart C4400 series printer into the usb port for my normal wireless printing, the usb light turned on, telling me the router recognized the printer. However, when I went to my computer to add the printer, nothing showed up in the add menu. I have checked the forums, and tried changing my router's channel, which one guy said worked, but I've had no luck. Also, I considered contacting HP support, but you have to pay for service, which I am not willing to do. If anybody has ideas, please list below.

It may be that the third-party router doesn't pass the necessary traffic for the printer to be found automatically. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to give it a static address on the network. Then add it as an IP printer using that address.

  • Why is iPhoto 11 not recognizing already imported photos from 4S?

I just plugged my 4S into my iMac i3, which is running OSX 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11' all products are up to date on software updates. I wanted to removed some videos off my 4S to free of some space on the phone.  I normall use icloud for all photo syncing and what not so plugging my 4S into the imac is not a common thing for me.
After opening iPhoto I noticed that the photos that were selected as "New Photos" were most duplicates of older photos that were already in my iPhoto library, some dating back a couple of years ago.  I keep copies of them on my iphone to show people when I'm away from my imac.  What I don't understand is why is iPhoto thinking these are "New Photos" and not "Already Imported" photos?  What is even stranger is that when I look in the "Already Imported" photos, those same photos (the ones that iPhoto wants to now import again) are showing up there too.
So my dilema is, that iPhoto is saying that out of 1,289 photos on my 4S, 354 are "New Photos" to be imported but about 250-300 of those are NOT new, they already exist in my iPhoto library. Why is iPhoto not reconizing already imported photos?
Also, if I am using Photo Stream to sync my photos across everything.. why do I even have any new photos to import??  Shouldn't everything already be there when I open up iPhoto, why would I need to import any photos from my 4S if icloud and Photo Stream work correctly with iPhoto 11' ?  I have checked and made sure numberous times that I have Photo Stream and icloud turned on in all the correct places and devices.
What I'm currently using:  iPhone 4S iOS 6.0.1 and iMac i3 OSX 10.8.2 and iPhoto 11' version 9.4.2

You'll need to create a new, temporary library and import into that with the option to delete from your iPhone. Then delete the library and go back to your current library.
