Why is my clear case scratching my new black iphone 5?

I bought a clear case from amazon, it seems to have scratched the paint off my new black iphone 5 near the lock button. I bought the case to protect the phone, not scratch it! I was careful with the phone so dirt couldn't get trapped I there so I don't understand why it has scratched? Maybe a soft case would be better?

Return it immediatly.

So as the title says i have purchased a new iphone 4 and today i put on a case to see if it would fit and it did, not knowing that this would damage my iphone on the side opposite of the volume buttons i noticed scratches, they go from the top to practically the bottom. Now they are only noticeable when i look at them close and in the light but its still a pet peeve that my new iphone of 3 days already has a scratch for me attempting to put a case on it. If i take it to genius bar will they offer to replace it or just tell me im S.O.L? also is there anyway i can fix it perhaps?

It would be considered accidental damage so they would not replace it, most likely.
You may try cleaning it. Could just be some material of the case rubbed off onto it and can be wiped away.

You'd have to first return your black phone, then purchase a white phone...there is no exchange if you originally purchased from Apple. Make sure you're still within the return period..30 days from date of purchase in the US, 14 days everywhere else.

Differences between clear case 23' and new 23'

I am having a hard time finding the differences between the two monitors. my clear case 23' is about 2 years old.

First off, KEEP your older ADC display. They have much more natural color
and don't suffer from the pinkness and blue banding on the new Aluminum.
I have followed the discussions since August of last year and there is no
end to the color consistency complaints. In fact, Apple has deleted over 1000 messages regarding this. Why? Hmmm. They threw out a lot of helpful
hints that could have helped their customers.
I personally bought and returned 7 Alum Cinema 23 displays. Some from Apple, some from Fry's, and others from UCLA Apple store.
The case is a beautiful design but the interior is different than the old 23.
The new ones are brighter, more saturated in color and have 2 Firewire and
2 USB ports available.
However, they got rid of the system/start up power button and added a power brick with cables waving all over the place.
I hopoed they would have solved the production problem by now but it seems
that too few people are complaining ( graphic designers/video editors ).
I gave up and just bought a one year old Plastic 23 display for $1000.
I love it. The only thing I don't like is that the whites are a little yellowish
due to its lower brightness specs ( 230 nits vs. 270 nits on the new one.
The way to see the color issues with an Alum model is to set the desktop to
a neutral gray. Or, simply drag a small image of gray (perhaps open up the little gray jpg located in Library/Desktop Pictures/Solids) across the screen.
The left side will look a little pink and it will change to a blueish tone as you move to the right.
Or better yet, open the Apple display calibrator, look at the Apple icon and
move the window to the extreme left and right.
It is only visible clearly in these circumstances but most people don't care.
Considering the price drops it might be nice to get a new one but all I
know is all the motion graphics studios I work at use the old monitors.
It also is no coincidence that this past weekend Apple sold out of refurbished
Plastic Cinema 23 in 24 hrs, while the Alum refurbs just sat.
Take a look at the specials. They always have something good.

Swapping brand new black iPhone 4 for a white one

I recently lost my white iPhone 4 and managed to pay for a new one through my insurance, however I was sent a black iPhone 4. I have not used the new phone nor removed it from its packaging. Would I be able to trade this in at the apple store for a white iPhone 4?

If you didn't get the iPhone from the Apple Store, then the chances of them allowing an exchange is very small, but you can ask. Most dealers, and this includes the Apple Stores, will only accept a return of a product purchased from that store.

So like me, many verizon users in the US are excited to get their hands on a new iphone, i purchased a black and pink defender case from otterbox so ill have it when i get my iphone...well i started to do some research and found out that APPLE wanted to fix the pre-existing problem they experienced at AT&T of the antenna band on the bottom left hand corner and its ablity, when covered up by your hand, to lose service and drop calls. so Apple redesigned just the side as for the verizon iphone, the antenna is now at the top...pushing the volume buttons down more.....THIS CREATED THE PROBLEM OF THE OTTERBOX CASES NOT FITTING. I SPOKE WITH OTTERBOX CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT THE RELEASE OF THE NEW VERIZON CASE FOR THE IPHONE AND THEY SAID THEY WERE WORKING ON THE DESIGN AND THAT IT SHOULD BE FOR SALE IN THE UPCOMING MONTHS......DISSAPPOINTING...I KNOW! you would think, with their cases so high in demand, that they would have already released the cases before the iphone release...they would have made more money that way but hey...what do i know..lol
but i wanted to share this information so that people wouldnt spend their money on a case that wont fit and can wait til the RIGHT cases are up for grabs!!

Be patient as there are a lot of others complaining about this. For now try to use Pocket Camera App as it helps. It may be an issue with IOS 5.0 and the camera. Pictures aren't good on my 4S either.

I had to use a scissors to pry off and then cut the Seidio SURFACE™case from my new 4S iPhone. It was impossible to remove otherwise. Do not buy this case for the new 4S. I think it is too tight - the clip that connects the upper and lower parts of the case cannot be disengaged.
Seidio did agree to take back the cut case; I am now trying to get them to pay for return shipping.
Note all the complaints ONLINE about this case and the problems removing it from the iPhone 4S. I should have checked it out before my purchase.

Looking for a clear case that protects screen and click wheel

I've got a new 8GB Nano. I'm looking for a case to protect it from general dings and scratches. What I'm looking for is a clear case with screen and click wheel protection. Anyone know where I can find one? So far, all I've been able to find are clear cases that protect the screen but leave the click wheel unprotected. Or is click wheel protection not that that big of a thing?

Choice between 2 hard clear cases...

So I really want a case ha, I really dont like the invis. shield film, because it takes away from the look, and is hard to put on, and it doesnt protect from a drop at all, and i'm an active guy haha. So needless to say I am in the market for a hard case. In particular I want a clear case (so my black beauty can shine through) so I was wondering now that there are a few cases out, if anyone has any feelings on a few in particular? I was looking at the famous agent 18 case, I have heard great things about its ability to protect, and its slim. but it has that haze that doesnt let the black shine through, and it doesnt have a belt clip, a feature i sometimes use. The other case is the microshield http://www.xtrememac.com/cases/video/microshield_video.shtml found there if you dont know it already, it comes with 2 backings one with a clip, and its perfectly clear, it has rubber stabilizers but I have not a clue about its ability to protect. Any input would be great guys, on anything, looks, function, price, anything. thanks!

Just adding an afterthought ...
I notice my screen cover which is clear with no texture is starting to show small scratches. When the iPod screen is on, you do not notice the scratches.
The textured part of the agent18 case is not showing any scratches at all (which is probably why they textured the case).
If the extrememac case is made from the same material and is non-textured, then I would suppose it will start showing scratches also.
I have just purchased the extrememac case also, so will see if the above is correct after it comes in.

CMP Beans from Tables: Why does the Container try to create new tables?

I'm trying to develop an EJB application using JDeveloper on 9iAS. I have several CMPs and have my tables that I want my CMPs to be based on already defined in my DB schema. I want to use CMP but I don't want the Container to create the tables, rather I want the Container to map my CMP EJBs to the already existing tables.
The issue is:
While creating these CMP EJBs in JDeveloper I chose the "New Enterprise Java Bean" EJB creation wizard using the option labeled "Container-managed Entity Beans from Tables". My assumption is that this does what I want, because the wizard prompts for a schema and table you want to map to. Then it creates the attributes & getter/setter methods, PK class, etc. all based on the table defintion automatically. Great. So why when I try to run my application do I get error messages for each EJB such as:
Auto-creating table: create table STREET_TYPE (PK_STYP_ID NUMBER(8), STREET_TYPE VARCHAR2(20), primary key (PK_STYP_ID, STREET_TYPE))
Warning: Error creating table: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
Huh?? I thought the idea is that the CMP EJB is mapped to the existing table in my schema. Why is the Container trying to create new tables?? Is this possible? Or am I missing something fundamental about how Containers create and manage CMPs? Or is this just a JDevelop container issue? TIA

Now I have to point out that going ballistic has certain connotations but posting on an internet forum is not one of them.
I appear to be one of thousands who are all expressing their outrage in a rational and intelligent manner which cannot be said for your lebvel 4 + collegues on this forum.
Finally there has been an ongoing issue wiith the iPad 3 Wifi on certain wifi only models , I have not encountered it and it seems clear neither have you. That of course does not discount the fact that many others have experienced this issue , an issue which may reveal itself to you or I in the future particularly as I have only been using mine for a fortnight.
