Why is my CS6 running slowly?

I have a brand new desktop computer that I just had built for me. PSCS-6, Windows 7, 64 bit, 8Gb of Ram. When I am using ACR, I find that there is a lag in response on just about every task. I am also using a brand new Wacom Intuos 4. The little blue circle (timer) shows up very frequently when I am adjusting exposure, highlights, saturation, etc. This does NOT happen on my laptop that only has 3Gb of RAM (Win 7 64 bit).
Do I have something set incorrectly? I expected sheer speed and this is dissapointing to me.

The Wacom drivers were up to date but the graphics card did need a new update and that really helped a lot. I also turned off the Win 7 "ripple effect" that is standard with the Wacom. It was annoying and I think it also caused a little slow down.

Photoshop cs6 runs slowly

I have need having trouble with cs6 running slowly on my iMac. The computer runs fine with all other applications but will quickly run up several gigs of page outs when handling camera raw and photoshop files, it starts to creep along after a short while. Apple ran "stress tests" on the computer and everything is perfectly functional. I used to have no issues with cs5 and the computer should be able to handle the task easily. I have tried to reinstall photoshop. Any other trouble shooting ideas?

That's not enough RAM for Mountain Lion and ID, so ID is forced to go looking for open disk space. I think you'll need at least 8gb RAM.
2gb is Mountain Lion's minimum req.

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

Why is my Safari running slowly?

In recent months my Safari has been getting slower-it now takes five or ten seconds for my favorite web sites to open. Firefox opens them instantly, so it must be Safari. I've been told to remove the cache (but using a 3d party, like MacKeeper); remove plugins (how do I know which ones to remove?); reset Safari (how, and what data will I lose?), etc. Which, if any, of these, or other actions, should I safely take, and how? Why is Elements 11 running slowly under Windows 8?

I got a new pc with Windows 8. All the specs are better than my old one. But PSE 11 runs MUCH slower than on the old one. Costco Support suggested I look for an update to PSE 11 to run under Windows 8. My PSE is ver 11.0.0.0 but it says it is up to date. Any suggestions?

Why do some old Mac programs run slowly in Classic mode?

I successfully installed OS 9 Classic Mode on an eMac. At first, some of my old programs (Thinkin' Things, Millie's Math House, both edmark) ran fine, but as time went on they started jerking and freezing as they ran. I re-started and it continued to do the same thing. Any ideas on why these programs run slowly like this?

I gathered the info you suggested in previous message, but I was wondering if you could help me interpret it.
Here's what I got:
In Activity Monitor; System Memory; Page ins/outs = 12277/0.
Memory is listed as 1.024 MB, with 822.11 MB free.
I looked under CPU tab in Activity Monitor and did not exactly now what I was looking for. What should I do with the CPU #'s?
I opened Console in Utilities & there were any clues or repeating messages.
The 40 MB hard drive has 9 MB free.
I ran the 9.2 CD-based educ. software again. Some does not boot up. Some run fine. Others are choppy at times.
Anyway, does this info suggest anything to you. I wonder if it's a compatability issue between System 10.4.11, Classic Mode and the Power PC chip? Was this common with Classic Mode?

what a long post....Apple, btw, does not read this stuff, so ranting, raving, and complaining here might make you feel good, but it does no good at all. That being said, I, too have a Mac Pro Quad Core Xeon with 6 gigs of ram and an nVidia 8800 GT graphics card (not as good as yours, alas) and I've had no problems at all with it. Yes, it doesn't have Thunderbolt, but maybe we Mac pro owners will get lucky and someone will come out with an adapter (probably not). No, you probably don't have to throw away your Mac Pro, but if you do, I'll take it, for a small "recycling" fee >:-) That was a joke. Yes, the Mac Pro's future isn't quite clear, YET. Hopefully that will improve very soon. As for not being able to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Don't worry about that too much, Nobody is forcing you to do that. Your Mac Pro won't quit working if it isn't installed. From what I've heard, you should give the new OS a chance, and wait to get it, in case there might be some bugs, or stuff not working with the new OS, which has been known to happen. Yes, we Mac Pro owners don't like being treated like mushrooms-kept in the dark, and being fed......... but Apple is Apple and it will do what it does, and there is nothing you or me can really do to change that. All I can say is....trust, have faith, be patient, go for a walk, do something else to take your mind off of this problem. Dreamweaver CS6 runs very slowly on OSX Mavericks

Hi All,
Hope someone can help, I upgraded to Mavericks on my Mac, but now Dreamweaver CS6 runs incredibly slowly from launch to every aspect, even typing, opening pages, selecting menu buttons etc. It is in fact damaging my businesses productivity no end.
I have searched many forums, found one that suggested upating Java to jdk-7u45-macosx-x64, and other suggesting Java SE 6. I have tried both to little effect.
On this forum I saw a similar issues raised for Dreamweaver CC, where it was suggested to uninstall java 7, and then launch DW where a popup box would appear with a download for Java 6, but that doesnt happen for me on CS6.
Any and all help would be hugley appreciated!

Can you please have a look at this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/5831680#5831680 too. We have seen performance degradations on opening files on relaunch and are looking into it.
Can you too try out the below steps :
Make sure you donot open files on relaunch
Close all other open applications and see if performance is better

Our DB Instance always run very slowly and update process
responding time is very long during month end.
I think this maybe due to it runs the database and application.
So I want to delete the DB Instance from Logon Group, and then users

SSRS Report queries begin running slowly, have to stop and start report server to restore performance

We have had a production issue crop up twice now where reports begin running slowly seemingly at random.
When this happens we can see from running SQL Profiler that the report queries are taking an extremely long time to execute. The same queries when run directly in management studio run quickly.
Initially I suspected parameter sniffing, and tried using OPTION (RECOMPILE) in the reports, as well as clearing out the particular query from the plan cache and running the SQL in SSMS to try and get a better plan etc but no amount of jiggery pokery by
me could get the queries to run any faster.
The really weird thing - is that stopping and starting the report server via the reporting services configuration manager instantly cures the problem.
I'd really love to know - why this might be? Is it something to do with the report server closing and re-opening its connections to the database? That's the only sort of thing I can think of...any ideas? Anyone? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

In your scenario, usually we can monitor the execution log in Report Database. If you run below query, you can get the results how long the report takes to render (TimeRendering), how long to process the report(TimeProcessing) and how long to retrieve data
from Database(TimeData). You can check the starttime and endtime to know the total time for executing a report.

In SQL Server Reporting Services, a job will be created by SQL Server Agent if any of the following processes is underway:
query execution on a remote or local database server
report processing
report rendering
To cancel a job that is running on the report server, we can cancel the job directly or reduce the report execution time-out value in the SQL Server Management Studio and then will stop query execution. Please refer to the steps below:
Open SQL Server Management Studio, and connect to "Reporting Services".
Under the Report Server node, right-click on the "Jobs" folder and select "Refresh". Then, right-click on "Jobs" again and click "Cancel All Jobs".
Right-click on the Report Server node and open the "Server Properties" dialog.
Click the "Execution" option, and set the "Limit report execution to the following number of seconds:" to a much smaller number. After this issue is resolved, this configuration should revert to the previous state.

PDF error A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly.

When opening a PDF of a website using Acrobat 9.0 Professional, I am recieiving the following notification.
A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, you computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
The error does not occur when viewing the live website from which the PDF was made.
I recieve the same error when trying to open the PDF on other PCs using Adobe Reader 9.
I have updated the flash player on each of the PCs as well.
I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or insight regarding why I am recieving this notification.

I'm suddenly getting the same error message, on a variety of web sites. I'm running Windows Vista on a fairly high-end desktop, and I haven't added any new software lately. This just started up out of nowhere. When searching for this error message on the web, people are asking this same question all over the place, and no one has an answer. Does Adobe ever monitor these forums?
