Why is my daughter asked to enter my AppleID password to open *any* app on her iPhone?

Preamble:
When iOS 8 dropped and my family of 5 had all upgraded, I set up Family Sharing. As it turns out, it's an incomplete solution and is therefore completely useless for isolating the spendy account (home sharing, iTunes share, etc.), but setting all that aside, I figured we might give it a shot.
It's OK - it's annoying that my kids need permission to download free apps, but OK. However, there is this strange bug I can't explain of figure out how to fix.
Problem description:
My daughter is logged into the iTunes store with her own AppleID and all looks well. However, any time she attempts to open any app at all other than the builtin apps, she gets a popup asking for the password for my AppleID! ***? Why is my AppleID even a thing on her phone?
Post-description rant:
Perhaps I was foolish to switch this on so soon - or indeed at all; I still have inexplicable inabilities to play a huge number of tracks in iTunes Share, across all devices (though it is not the same set of tracks on each device). But on the other hand, I don't see this issue described when I google around, so perhaps this is an anomaly, maybe some inconsistent/corrupt data, and there's a standard set of "switch it off and on again" steps that people might be able to suggest to take care of it.

Wherever I said "iTunes share" I really meant iTunes Match. Sigh.

  • IOS 6 keep asking apple id, and I can't open any app

    Hi,
I'm deploying 30 ipads with profile manager and installing 40 apps in each one. Is so painfull beacuse I need the apps in some folders, and I have to do this all by hand in each one. I'm using an apple id for all the ipads, setting up icloud only for "find my iphone" feature. I wanted to check if all the apps are working correctly in each ipad, and I found a huge problem. In 4 of 10 ipads, all the apps are working, the other 6 are asking me for the apple id for everything, and I cant open any app. If I put the correct apple id, the app close. And if I put a wrong one, is saying that can't contact itunes.
I really dont know what to do. All of them have the same settings.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Asys.

You have to sign out completely in System Preference>iCloud (click 'Sign out') on a Mac, or Settings>iCloud on an iOS device (click 'Delete account' - this will not delete the account from the server). Then sign in with the new password.
Your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac or device when you sign out but will reappear when you sign back in.

    Hello, try this...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

  • Constantly being asked to enter my iCloud password, every 5 minutes or so.

    Hey everyone.
I have an iPhone 6 and I am getting that error where im constantly being asked to enter my iCloud password every 5 to 10 minutes, regardless of what im doing.
I've just updated to the latest 8.2 hoping it would fix the issue but it hasn't
Apart from it being quite annoying, as of yesterday, I can no longer connect to my family group, or backup my phone to iCloud.
It has gone from a mere nuisance to not being able to use some key features of my phone.
I've tried restarting, and even changed my iCloud password to no avail.
Does anyone have any insight on this?
    Thank you in advance.

No it won't completely wipe your phone. You can verify that your iCloud information is up to date by going to iCloud.com and checking Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, etc. These are updated by being pushed between iCloud and the devices signed onto the same iCloud account. The backup is there in case you have to restore you device for some reason.
But simply signing out of and then back in again to iCloud will not erase anything - you would only have to do a restore if your device failed in some way or went into Recovery mode.  Just make sure your photos in the Photo Stream that are over 30 days old are also in your Camera Roll, or have been imported to a computer (or if you are using iCloud Photo Beta, make sure they are there).
You can also do a manual backup to iTunes on the computer you sync with if you wish.
Other than that, everything you see in iCloud.com will be pushed back to your device when you sign on again.
    Cheers,
    GB

  • Iphone keeps asking me for my AppleID password

My iPhone keeps asking me for my AppleID password.
This usually happens after I wake the phone and/or start any app.  The problem is intermittent (and too consistant that it has become very annoying!)
This started happening about 1.5 weeks ago.
I called into Apple support and they don't have any idea of how to fix it other than me backing up my phone and performing a brand new restore.  I haven't done that yet as it seems to be a brute force approach (and lengthy timewise at that).
From what I can remember, I purchased a song from my iPhone using the iTunes store.  Ever since then, it has started asking me for my password for my AppleID.  If I enter the password and click OK, everything is fine, but after a few moments, it will ask me for my password again.  Also, if I hit Cancel, everything is fine, and again, it will ask me for my AppleID password.
I have the lastest build/version of iOS 5.0.1 installed.  The password entered IS correct.  I am able to purchase music/movies/tv shows from my AppleTV with the same AppleID and password.  I have verified on my iPhone under settings, Itunes that my AppleID is correct as well.
Anybody else getting this and/or have a solution?

Could be a few things...Some things to check:
-Do you have pending downloads in the itunes store? Go to ITunes Store > More > Downloads
-Are you signed into the correct Apple ID in the store? Go to Settings > Store and check the Apple ID. It may be a good idea to just sign out (by tapping on the apple ID and choosing sign out) and sign back in even if you are.
-Other things that use your Apple ID that you might check: App Store, Facetime, iMessage, iCould, Game Center

  • TS2529 I recently got a new iphone and some of my apps don't work anymore. When I try to open them they either crash immediately or my phone asks for my iTunes Store password and then the app crashes. Any ideas? Help!

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the app but nothing happens. When I try to open the app, it either crashes immediately or asks me for my iTunes password and the the app does nothing or crashes. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Also, it seems that my phone asks me for my iTunes password randomly, when I'm not trying to open apps.
The app that I have the most problem with is the Simpsons game. I've tried to contact EA as well as apple and gotten nowhere.
Please help if you have knowledge of what to do
    Thanks!

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

Do you guys use the same computer with itunes on it? And the best way to get them off is to go into the Setting>Itunes & App Store and sign out of her appleid if it's listed there. Also just delete all of the apps from her appleid off your phone.

YOu can try resetting your network or a reboot.  To reboot hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release.  Wait for the phone to boot back up,  you won't lose any data.

  • I am very regularly asked to enter my icloud password on my iPhone, why ??

    Hi,
first sorry for the mistakes i could make writing those lines, i am french and my poor english could bother you
I have a problem using my new iPhone 5S (Silver 64 Go)
I often have to enter my iCloud Password, and even sometimes i am told it is wrong !
Why do I have to enter it several times a day, a hour ?
I also have a similar problem on my iPad, with my email account passwords. I have to type them several times a day, and i have 5 email accounts. That is awful. Apple had never got me used to having problems or bugs before... Disappointing and tiring !!
Please help, and again forgive my grammar or voc mistakes :/

Why am I sometimes asked to verify my Apple ID by email?
When you create a new Apple ID or make certain changes to your account, Apple will require you to sign in by following the link in a verification email. This is to help protect your identity and keep your account secure. Some Apple services, such as FaceTime and GameCenter, require email validation.
    More here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5622
I recall it happening to me once. I inadvertently had the caps lock on and after numerous failed attempts, I was asked to verify my account or reset my password.

  • Why am i being asked to enter icloud password on ipad a lot?

i changed my icloud password recently and now am regularly being asked to enter my password when on my ipad.  Did i miss a setting?

    Hi JOfromON,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you have recently changed your Apple ID password, and since then have been getting repeatedly prompted to enter in your password on the iPad.  I'd like you to first sign out of iCloud, and then sign back in with your new information.
On your iOS device: Go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Sign Out (Delete Account in iOS 7 and earlier).
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
    Cheers,
    Alex H.
