Why is my daughters 4s receiving my husband's iphone 5 text messages since he updated to the new software. Verizion cannot figure it out- help please?

Since my husband updated is software Friday on his iphone 5 my daughter iphone 4s has been receiving his text messages. Verizion cannot figure it out. They have seperate Apple id's. Please any advice would be great?

Stop ung the same Apple ID or phone number for iMessage.

I have noticed that my iphone 3GS,the app store crashes when trying to view "purchased" apps. I never had this problem until I updated to IO6. I still I have the problem with new update IO6.1. Its only in my main itunes account [email protected] that it crashes when trying to view the "purchased" apps. With my other itunes accounts I can see my purchased apps. after updating to the new software on my iphone, I suddenly receive and sends sms etc to my daughters mobile phone. How can that be stopped? Has is someting to do with using same appleid?

Since updating my iPhone, a few of my contacts have been unable to receive my text messages? One of the contacts originally had an iPhone but changed device before I updated, I was able to send and they were able to receive text messages prior to the change, the problem has arisen since update? More recently another contact who also has an iPhone is now unable to receive my text messages? Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so what did you do to resolve it? Thanks.

Wow this definitely sounds like strange behavior and something we need to investigate further. I want to find out, on your iPhone 5, do you have any signatures set? When you send text messages, do you include any emoticans or special characters? These aren't compatible with all type of devices and networks so we want to eliminate any causes of the trouble. If you do have anything like this set please remove the items and test the texting communication again. We look forward to hearing back to get this resolved.

Have the original iPad that won't update past 5.1.1. Applications are requiring newer update versions. Why won't my iPad update past this version?

IT's because of the system specifcations are probarly not able to handle the new requirements for the iOS 6+ if you want/need those applications you'll have to purchase a new iPad

Receiving multiple duplicate text messages since latest update

Ever sice the latest update I've been receiving at least 3 duplicates of every text that gets sent to me. Anyone else experiencing this or have any ideas on how to make it stop?

It's actually been going on since well before the update. I have friends with other phones who have the same thing happen to them. One actually has a 'pre-smartphone' phone and they get multiples all the time. The problem is with some setting within Verizons network, which apparently they don't feel is that big of a deal. Only thing I've heard is to contact Verizon and tell them and they supposedly do someting to correct it for that user, but that's about it

Hello I really need to be able to see my earlier text messages? For some reason, I am only able to see the five most recent text messages of the day?? Yesterday I was able to see ALL my messages and now I can't :-(. HELP!!!

Do have the latest version of iTunes? iOS 8 will require a newer version of iTunes than iTunes 10...

I'm having the same problem. I have a 4th gen 32GB iPod Touch, and since upgrading to iOS6, iMessage has been nothing but buggy. It will work for an hour or so, and then randomly stop working as it won't send or receive messages. There's nothing wrong with my wifi, because that's the same as it was before. I really hope someone knows something to fox this problem. Some people use iMessage for good reasons - it needs to be a reliable messaging service like it was in iOS5.

Connect your device to iTunes and do the update through iTunes. Using a computer takes much less space on your device than doing the update on your device.

Long Answer.
Enable the iPhone for Messages. Make sure it Verifies and that your can Send from the iPhone Number.
To do that you can Enable the iMessages account in Messages on the Mac using and Apple ID.
The iPhone can then send from the iPhone Number to the Apple ID (Mac).
Then add the Apple ID to the iPhone.
The Mac will then get a pop up saying that the iPhone is using the Apple ID and the iPhone number.
Accept this Pop up to enable the Mac to "sync" the iPhone Number iMessages.
(Sync in this case is only "Display on All Devices").
Now you can enable Text Forwarding on the iPhone.
IF the Apple ID and iPhone Number are already linked this will launch the app if it is Quit and display the Code number you need.
The number then need to be entered back on the iPhone to complete the process.
The Text Forwarding option on the iPhone should then show the device(s) that are linked this way.
