Why is my email address coming up in my text messages?
Hi,
Ever since I updated to IOS7 - my text messages are now coming up on the other side as my email address instead of my name or phone number.
This was bad for me in business since my personal email is unknown, and my replies were "who is this?" embarrasing for me to my manager, and to my attorney.
I want my text messages to still reflect my name or phone number not my personal email address
Go to Settings/Messages and change your identification choice.

On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Messages -> Receive At -> Caller ID and make sure the phone number is selected - this will cause new messages sent from your iPhone to appear to come from your iPhone phone number.
(I actually prefer to have my email selected, so that when I message someone from my iPhone and they reply, it goes to both my iPhone and iPad)
Also, when you send a message from your iPhone, make sure you're not replying within an existing conversation (that was created on your iPad and linked to your email). Just start a new conversation (even if it's to the same person) by going to the Messages app, going back to "Messages" (top left corner) if you're already looking at a conversation, and then clicking the Compose icon in the top right. -
why my Alternate Email Addresses does work on my send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.?
Because an alternate email isn't the same as a rescue email. If you can't get an email sent to your rescue email address or don't have one, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Why is the camera icon grayed out in the text message screen so that I cannot text a picture on my iPhone 5? I have an unlocked TMobile phone. My husband has the same phone, plan, and set up; his picture messages work fine.

Can someone tell me why can't I delete a picture of a text message conversation? I touch and hold a picture in IOS7.0.3; I touch More, I click the picture(s) and I click the garbage bin. The picture gets deleted, but then it comes back in a second!
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Why do other email addresses come up when I sign in with my Apple ID.
I just go my 5S and when I sign in with my apple ID and password 2 other email addresses pop up and ask for the password for those email address. It seems like it is trying to sign in to the other email addresses Apple ID's. This has become a pain to get my back up to work when I swap phones. Any ideas on why this happens or how to fix it?

Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In.

In mail, why does entire email address show up instead of just person's name
When I address most emails (to persons who are in my contacts), only their names show up in the "To:" window. But with certain people, their name plus their <full email address> all show up in the window.
I've tried re-entering their names in my contacts. I've tried deleting these names-with-full-email-addresses from the Previous Recipients list. No matter what I do, their name fills in as "First Name Last Name <full email address>" in the "To:" window. I also mail to other clients at the same company and their names just show up as names only -- normal.
Any idea why this is happening, and how I can make it stop?It's fixed. Not sure why. Maybe one of the things I tried just needed time to take effect. Suddenly, it's working.

Why is my email address being replaced with someone elses email address when I send it?
In my thunderbird account, we have 4 email accounts set up. There used to be fifth one that I have removed because she no longer works here. However, when I send an email through thunderbird, the recipients do not see my name or email address. It shows up as if it's coming from the woman who previously worked here. How can this happen if I have removed her email address from thunderbird?

Your iCloud account is tied to your Apple ID account - if you go into System Preferences>iCloud>Account Details, you'll see the associated email address. If you need to change your iCloud prefs, change your Apple ID - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/.

I lost my Personal Address file in Cyber Space and all of my contacts. I reinstalled my contact information into a new Personal Address file and want to make sure I save a copy of the file in case the file gets lost again.
Also, when I created a new email and typed in the first few letters of the address contact, it automatically opened up the persons contact but in a form that is different than what I entered into my personal address book and is not able to be sent. It showed the email address as, <" m*****"@hotmail.com> . There is the symbol " in front of their email name and in front of the @ symbol in the email address, which is not what I installed in my personal address book. I had these kind of emails in the Collected Addresses file which I'm guessing caused my problem to start with. I do not need to have a Collected Address file. Somehow I must have hit the wrong keyboard key and created this problem. I do not want to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird in fear of loosing all of my contacts again. I spent two days reinstalling my contacts in the Personal Address file and even then information is missing. So now I have to contact everyone and request phone numbers and home addresses and install all of them again.
As a final note, I deleted all of the addresses in the Collected Addresses file. Can you tell me where they may be saved at so I can make sure they are gone and not interfering with my new Address Book and function of my email account?The Personal Address Book is stored in your local disk drive; "cyber space" doesn't come into it.
Was it just the Address Book that was lost? Did your email account settings remain intact? Or did you lose the entire profile?
All of your data is stored in a set of files known as the profile. It's unusual for just one element of it to go missing. Any query about saving or protecting data will generally be answered by guiding you to backup your entire profile.

It's possible to single out address book files for independent backup, but you'll need to surgically dissect them from your profile and know where to insert them in order to restore them.

A safer option for a partial backup might be to export the relevant address books.
In the Address Book, select an address book, then go to '''Tools|Export''', enter where you want the exported addresses to go. Repeat for each address book you want to preserve.
Thunderbird likes the LDIF file format which exports and imports cleanly. The main alternative, CSV, is good for transporting data to or from other address books, but you'll have to take care to get the imported data to feed into the correct data fields. For instance, many users find that their email addresses are posted into the Nickname field. Have you checked your address books to confirm that all the data are where they should be?
The Collected Addresses book, IMHO is like the lint filter in a tumble dryer. Best way to use it is to keep it empty; periodically examine it, move useful addresses to a proper address book and dispose of the cruft you don't need. If you let it grow, you'll have trouble finding the really useful addresses in amongst all the chaff.
There is an add-on that might recover a deleted address book, but I can't recall which one it is. Hopefully someone else will chip in?
