Why is my Epson Stylis Photo R300 not reconized?

I installed Leopard on my iMac 17" 1 gh machine. Epson drivers are listed to this printer. However, when I go to ADD printer all I get is a Firewire option, NOT the USB option.
I did find a USB plugin in a library folder, but don't know where that should be moved to for it to show up as a selection....
Anyone with some help??

Problem resolved by a mystery reboot. (this hadn't worked before, but this time everything is ok). Go figure!!

Can't print using Epson Stylus Photo R300

I am new to Mac ownership and have been having issues since updating to OS10.4.9. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 and have been using CUPS and Gimprint to print w/o a problem (OK, I had to call tech support and spent 10 hours getting it figured out) Now, for no reason my computer won't print again. I'm not sure what the issue is. Nothing has changed. I use a wireless print server connected to my wireless router. I've tried everything today. I'd removed all print drivers, CUPS and Gimprint and reinstalled. I've tried checking to see if the router has a different IP but nothing is working.
When I go to print the utility will spool the printing and then tell me the printer is busy and it will try again later.. then it times out. I've cleared the print history and jobs but still get the message. The only time I got anything close to printing was when I selected default browser, selected the wireless router but it chose Apple talk at the communication so I just got syntax stuff to print. Nothing in English.
So any help from ANYONE would be appreciative because Apple wasn't helpful when I called today.

Is there any reason why you're not using the standard Epson supported driver? It's available here

Help! Trying to re-install Driver for Epson Stylus Photo R300

My computer recently crashed and I had to do a system re-install. My system then updated to OS 10.4.8, I am on a 1.67 Power PC G4 Powerbook.
After re-installing everything my Epson Stylus Photo R300 is not working. I could not find the original disk so I went to the website and downloaded the installer which extracted into "epson11601.sea" . When I go to run this file the computer launches a program called Automator.
Pleaes help. I need to print some DVD's for work and I can't do this until I re-install the Epson Drivers, etc.

This is a problem with Stuffit Expander 11. Luckily the .sea file is still able to be used. Highlight the epson11601.sea file and do a GetInof (command-I) for it. There will be a section on what application to use to open the file. Change the application to "epson11601.sea". The .sea extension indicates that it is a Self Extracting Archive. It is indeed a small application that does the work of extracting the files in the archive.

Printing from Elements 8 using Epson Stylus Photo R300

Help! I'm really quite useless at all this computer stuff, and my problem is slowly driving me mad!!! I am trying, unsuccessfully, to print from Elements 8 using an Espon Stylus Photo R300. However, I dont know what settings to use. I can get prints - but they dont represent what I see on the monitor. I have tried using Picasa and the representation on the print isnt too far removed from that on the monitor. iPhoto is slightly worse. Can anyone tell me in simple english what settings I need to use - I have seen other discussions on the same topic and think that color management should be done by the Elements 8 and not the printer? Any help would be very much appreciated - before I lose it all together

Did you get you problem resolved. I am experiencing the same problem with with element 8 and Epson r300 printer. I tried both support groups Adobe wanted me to upgrade to element 9. and Epson gave me the phone running. I have taking the printer to a Epson service center and the printer is working fine. I have change the various options in the software and no sucess. I had one image that I only crop and it the colors came out wrong. Now if I don't touch the image and just print it the colors come out fine.. So please let me know if you got it resolved.

Epson Stylus Photo 1280 not working with OS X 10.4.3

I recently updated to Tiger OS 10.4.3 and my Epson Stylus Photo 1280 no longer prints. I've attempted to delete and add it to the Printer List, but get the following error - "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer." Along with that it reads "successful-ok-too-many-events."
As well as this, (sorry, possibly off topic) I can no longer download files via Safari, consistantly getting the error "mounting failed." This also occurs when I try to use Software Update as well. I get the message, "Unexpected error occured."
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The last Gutenprint release was in July 2012 as version 5.2.9. Therefore, it has not been compiled or tested especially for Mavericks.
Suggest you reset/remove the Epson printer entry in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Then re-add it. Leave your printer power on and connected to the Mac. Perform a software update, this may also offer the Epson Printer Drivers v2.15.1 for OS X (released Sept 11, 2013). This download supports your printer model.

Epson Stylus Photo 900 not responding

My wife's Epson Stylus Photo 900 I acting up.... I can align and clean the printer with NO problem but when we try to print a document the printer utility gives us this message. (I hope I do not leave out any characters) "Error:/Library/Printers/Epson/inkjet Printer 2/Filter/rastertoespll.app/Content/Mac OS/rastertoescpll failed" Any thoughts would be appreciated. This has me baffeled.

In time: In both browsers (Firerox and IE9) Adobe Flash Player is slower than normal and in Firerox sometimes it crash.
My System:

I too have an 8GB RAM and quad core processor on my desktop and my laptop it is an Intel Quad i7 core, 8GB RAM. When there was any sluggishness, it was not Flash, but something else causing the heavy CPU useage because it was fighting with Flash.
On my computer, I went into FireFox Add-ons, then checked the extensions and plugins.The one problem I had was with a Real Player plugin. It allowed the recording and download of any video, with an App style button that appears above the the video itself when the cursor is placed there. For me that was disabled by FireFox because of conflicts, but even in the disabled state, it caused Flash issues. When I uninstalled the extension or plugin, Flash worked fine.
It may be the same, or another plugin or extension that is causing the issue. FireFox sites say to disable, but that proved useless to do because disabling for the RealPlayer plugin made no difference, it had to be removed completely to see the difference.
If no greyed out ones, then uninstall all the plugins and test FireFox. If all works great, reinstall one by one and each time test FireFox with Flash. You will likely find which one it is and know what to do from there.
I know it is a bit of a hassle, but from the experience I had so far, Flash was not the issue, it was from another plugin.
If it is Real Player, then disable the plugin by:
Close Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer if either is running.
Click "Start," click "All Programs," click "Real" and click "RealPlayer." (Or click the RealPlayer shortcut to open it)
Click the "RealPlayer" menu button at the top-left corner of the RealPlayer window and click "Preferences."
Click "Downloading and Recording" category near the bottom of the list of categories at the left side of the preferences window.
Uncheck the "Enable Web Downloading and Recording" checkbox by clicking it.
Click "OK."
Re-open Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer.
Worst comes to worst, uninstall real player completely or if there is another program that installed a problem plugin to FireFox, install that.
Let us know how this worked out.

Why is the character style for hyperlinks not displaying correctly in design mode/viewing/output?

I am using RH9 and generating WebHelp, and I needed to globally bump up the font size of just my hyperlinked text. I went into my Style Sheet > Character tab, changed the font size of the various character settings for hyperlinks, and clicked Apply and then OK. Normally, this would change all of my hyperlink text font sizes immediately across all of my topics. However, this time, it made no changes to any existing hyperlinked text, and it only affected new hyperlinks that I subsequently added. For the existing hyperlinks, I can only manually change the font size of the each hyperlink one at a time, but that's crazy (there's 100's in this help).
I can successfully change other characters styles and paragraph styles. This issue only affects the hyperlink character styles. It also shows up in all RH modes - Design mode, viewing, and in the final output.
Is this an indication of a corrupted style sheet or some other combination of events that I have yet to discover?

You probably have inline styling in your project overwriting the font size of your style sheet. How are you changing the font size of the individual hyperlinks?
There is a workaround for inline styling: Open your CSS in notepad and add !important after the font-size:
font-size: 4pt !important;
Note that this is a workaround, not a solution. As a solutions you can remove all the style attributes from your hyperlinks to force them to take the CSS styling again.

Epson Stylus Photo 750 not working after upgrade to, X.5.2

I'm not sure as to what has happened since my update, however I can't print any type of documents.
However my printer will run a test page on head cleaning, so I know it's not the printer.
I'm thinking it has something to do with the driver, because I keep getting this message...,
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/rasteroepson failed
Tried reinstalling the epson drivers, but had know luck.
Looked through a few threads here in discussions, but did not find anything specific.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Epson Stylus Photo 1400 not working on 10.6.5

I've done just about everything I've found online and both epson and apple are in denial of this situation. I'd been on the phone with apple to almost two hours and in the end they tell me that it's probably epson's drivers and that I need to contact them. Another 2 hours with epson pretty much saying I needed to contact apple.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Whenever I print using word/photoshop or any other apps, I get nothing. My printer icon doesnt ever come up on the dock. Even when I open it manually I see that they werent added to my queue. If I try to print with Preview App, it tells me "Error While Printing"
I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, remove and re added printer, I've checked and repaired disk permissions. What gives? Is it 10.6.5 causing this?

Error when trying to print-Epson Stylus Photo R300-missing drivers

I just purchased I Life 06 and installed on my IMAC G5. The computer locked up after I tried to open an IDVD file and I had to shut off the power to shut it down. I started up the MAC and it got stuck on the printer install..I called tech support and they ran the repair disk and inserted the Epson CD that has the drivers on it and the mac says that the drivers are already there. I go to print utility and it shows the Epson printer but no drivers. Please help, the printer worked just fine before I installed I Life 06...Mac tech support said that it is an Epson issue.

First of all, welcome to the Apple discussions.
When you got the Epson printer CD, that there is a un-installer on the CD. Run it an run Disk Utilities repair permissions.
After you finished do a Finder search to make sure that the un-installer worked perfectly.
Now try to re-install the Epson Printer again.

IMovie iOS edits video from the photos app.
So you need to get video into the camera roll or a photo album.
There is numerous techniques in this forum how to do this, and what format the video needs to be in.

What you need to do is go to http://www.stuffit.com/mac/expander/ and download Stuffit Expander.
Then ctrl-click on the .sea program, and select open with, and choose stuffit.
