Why is my export running so slow in Media Encoder CC 2014.0.1?

My setup: Win8 Pro 64; i7-4770K, 16GB RAM.
Input is XAVC-S from Sony FDR-AX100.
Using PPro and AME CC 2014.0.1
The original files are operas that I have filmed of small opera companies. I make 1080p footage by duplicating my clips in PPro, and setting them up as multicam. I keyframe character movement on the stage like a virtual camera, and switch between views with cuts and dissolves. There are titles, and some chapter marks.
In one mode I make short clips to put up on YouTube. Using the new preset for YouTube this should take a fraction of the length of the clip. Here's "Addio, fiorito asil" from MADAMA BUTTERFLY:
Ultimately this file took about 6 minutes 15 seconds to export, a bit less than it predicted...but the file is only 1 minute 32 seconds in length! The love duet, second on my list, is slated to take over an hour to export 15 minutes 25 seconds.

The MPEG-DVD export, a complete DVD of that BUTTERFLY performance, predicts 4 HOURS. Meanwhile, while the software running normally seriously challenges my liquid-cooled processor with 99% usage, at present here's Task Manager:
System is not using my resources, hardly at all, and severely damaging my productivity by taking forever to process. Do note that AME above reports the use of CUDA in hardware.
I had this problem before the .01 release, and it had something to do with titles. My understanding is that the issue was fixed. Does anyone have a CLUE what's preventing PPro/AME from doing its usual savage (but welcomed) attack on my resources and blazing through these files with speed?
