Why is my Flex extension for Photoshop out of focus while writing text?

Hi All,
I have a query. Why is my Flex extension for Photoshop out of focus while I am writing text to a layer? I noticed that if I am writing some text in a text layer, and while writing I try to do some action in my extension, like clicking a button, I am unable to do so.. Why is that? The extension doesn't receive any click events.. I have to select the layer and then perform any such action.. Please answer if there is a way of solving this issue..

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

In Firefox 4 [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration. 
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
* Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in [[Safe mode]]:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

Flash Catalyst CS5 FXG Extension for Photoshop CS5

Hello,
I'm having an error message (you do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform the operation..) when i install the FXG extensions for Photoshop CS5. I'd like to use the Round-Trip-Editing function and it asks me to install the FXG extensions.
Is there something i missed? I'm currently using windows7 (64)

Hey Thomas, I don't know if you have figured it out yet, but I was having the same issue. To install it turn UAC off, restart computer and then install the plugin with no issues. Regards

HTML5 Extensions for Photoshop CS5 and above ?

Hi guys,
I am trying to get into developing HTML5 extensions for Photoshop, and I'm a little confused about the compatibility of this kind of extension across the different versions.
I have downloaded this starting point code (hallodom/photoshop-extension-example · GitHub) and it runs without problems on Photoshop CC. I just added the manifest.xml file in a CSXS folder, based on what I got from a dummy projet I created with Extension Builder 3.
Now I have tried to make this work in CC 2014, without success. All I did is move the extension from the CEPServiceManager4 folder to simply CEP, and update this part of the manifest.xml :

The extension appears in the Extensions menu, but when I launch it, the panel appears but is empty, and I get the following error message :

Also I wanted to know if this kind of extension can be used on CS5, CS6 ? I really would like to make an extension that works at least from CS5 and above.

Can't download FXG Extension for photoshop

I've been trying to download the fxg extension for Photoshop CS5 Extended and every time I click the download button (for Mac) I see a stream of code load into my browser, but no download is initiated.
I've also read that in order to install it, a previous version of the FXG Extension has to be uninstalled, but when I open my Extension Manager and click on Photoshop, no extensions appear.
I need help with this issue asap. Thank you.

Nevermind, I resolved it. It was a browser issue. I was trying to download it through Safari, which didn't work, so I closed Safari and downloaded it via Firefox.

What are the differences?

Because apparently it is programmed deep, deep into Adobe's DNA that they cannot possibly manage to come up with a straightforward, clean, and logical installation process. It is demonstrably beyond what's possible for Adobe. I say that based on years and years of dealing with their byzantine, buggy, and bloated installers. The Cloud was supposed to magically make things better.
I also now have two versions of After Effects, Audition, Flash, Illustrator, Media Encoder, Muse, and Photoshop residing on my computer.
Why?
Well, because the Creative Cloud installer didn't really "update" the current software...it just installed new versions next to the old ones.
Why?
Beats the hell out of me. But I'm pretty sure if I expend my time to contact Adobe's support folks I will be told to go through some process of manually removing each copy of the old software. They won't know why the "upgrade" process worked this way, and they won't care. They'll just cheerfully advise me to waste my time cleaning up Adobe's mess. Again.
Looking forward to the day I no longer need to use Adobe products.

What is the file extension for photoshop for the blanks following the period in "photoshop,___"? I have an older desktop which includes older photoshop files which I have asked a technician to extract for me. He asks for the extension. I can't

I ned the extension for the photoshop program, that is, the letters following the period as shown by the blanks in this: "photoshop.____" I cannot find the extension in my laptop. The photoshop program is a couple of years old and my files are in a desktop out of use for a couple years. I brought the desktop to a technician, asking him to extract the photos. He asks me for the file extension.

If you using Windows you can use the control panel Folder options or from Windows File explorer menu tools>Folder options view tab to change what Microsoft hide on you. Have windows display extension. Apple hide information from users also.

I'm getting the same error with Adobe Extension Manager CC 7.1.1.32 when trying to install GuideGuide (guideguide.me) for Photoshop CC.

Load webpage in Flex extension for InDesign

I am implementing an extension for InDesign CS6 and CC using Flash Builder 4.6, Ext Builder 2.1.
The panel reads a text file which contains the url of a webpage and renders it in an HTML control.. It is working with most urls..
But sometimes it stops loading the page midway. I get the urls from my client.
Here is the code I am using,

Is it possibe that background scripts executing in the webpage might be getting blocked by Flex causing the improper load?
Any way to overcome this?

If some property isn't available in Extension Builder environment, I think there is less that we can do. Perhaps there is any other control that might help me achieve what I want.

When a photo is viewed in iPhoto 9.6, why is it sharp then immediately goes out of focus?

When viewing photos (full window), the photo initially is sharp then immediately goes a little out of focus. Thanks to some previous forum responses, a fix is to slightly shift the zoom button to the right, clearing the photo right up. When going through 100+ photos, obviously this is an untenable fix. I assume this is a bug that needs repair.

As a follow-up, I found that if I hold the left mouse button down while on the zoom button, no matter where it is on the slider, the same effect happens, that is that the photo goes out of focus. Once released, the photo sharpens. This DOES NOT happen when the zoom slider is all the way to the left. There as stated earlier the photo stays out of focus.

If you're having problems making an extension for Photoshop CS6 with Configurator 3..

I was going to ask for help here, but before posting I decided to try one last experiment to see if it would work. Yesterday I tried making a simple one button panel inside Configurator and exporting it to Photoshop CS6. I put it in the plugins\panels directory. Start Photoshop, nothing... I tried looking at how to create an extension manually and signing it in order to install it with Extension Manager, and my brain nearly melted.
So today I tried installing an older version of Photoshop (CS 5.5). The difference was that I selected Photoshop CS5/CS5.5 in the create new panel dialog in Configurator instead of CS6. Export Panel..It worked! Then I tried the same thing for my install of Photoshop CS6, selecting Photoshop CS5/CS5.5 as before in Configurator's dropdown menu. Success!
I hope this helps anyone who was stuck in the same place as me.

Hmm, okay I just had a problem. I used an swf with a hue strip made in actionscript inside an swf loader in configurator. Tried exporting this to PS CS6's panels folder, and to my surprise it complete broke all of the other extensions in that folder. (ie. Photoshop refused to load any other non-defualt extenstions at all just because one was borked.). Very very stupid. So I went back to PS CS5, everything was working perfectly. Then I closed it and went back to PS CS6, and suddenly my test panel was working again. I have no idea why PS CS5 "fixed" PS CS6, it doesn't make sense really. I think I'll be going back to CS5 to do all my work as CS6 is really buggy about extensions, and I really need a color wheel for painting.

Free trial extension for photoshop

Hello, I had ran into some problems with photoshop, and didn't really get too use it very much. I was wondering if it's possible for another trial, maybe like a week or 2 just too know if it's exactly what i'm looking for before I start paying for it if it does work out too be what I need. Can't install latest Exchange Extension for Photoshop CC

Hi, I've been trying for a while now to just get the exchange extension working in Photoshop CC.
1. First Photoshop needed to be updated, did that.
2. Then I installed Extension Manager, did that.
3. Then apparently had to update Both, did that.
4. Then tried to open the Exchange Extension in PS CC, it tells me to "Click Update for the latest features." I clicked update...
5. Another dialog in the extension pops up and says "A newer version of the Exchange panel is available. Would you like to install it?" I click yes...
6. It then downloads the extension, about 14Mb
7. then it tries to install it, but says "Adobe Extension Manager is required to install this extension. Do you want to launch Extension Manager now?". I click yes...
The panel just sits there spinning the wait wheel. It sat there for 5 mins before I killed the panel.
So then I thought I'll just get the latest version of the panel from http://www.adobeexchange.com/
1. Went to http://www.adobeexchange.com/ and clicked the "Download" Button
2. I Chose download for CC.
3. I waited for it to download, then doublie clicke the zxp which opened Extension Manager CC. Extension Manager CC then pops up a dialog saying it's installing the extension.
Extension Manager then pops up a message: "The entension 'AdobeExchange' does not contain a valid signature. The extnesion will not be installed."
So now I'm up to 10 steps just to try and get the exchange extension installed. I'm on Win 7 and the trial version of Photoshop CC.
Anyone have any problems with this?

Apologies that you are experiencing such issues! Firstly can I ask you to complete your final 3 steps but with logging enabled for Extension Manager? To set up logging please complete the following steps:
Create a file called 'ExManCoreLibLog.YES' and place it in the following location:
WIN: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log\ExManCoreLibLog.YES
MAC: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Log/ExManCoreLibLog.YES
2. Then create a file named 'ExManLog.YES' and place it at:
WIN: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CC\ExManLog.YES
MAC: /Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CC/Adobe Extension Manager CC.app/Contents/MacOS/ExManLog.YES
3. The logs files are generated and saved in the following location:
WIN: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log
MAC: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Log
Could you then send the log files to me at lesavage at adobe dot com. Could you also send me the adobe exchange log file so that I can investigate the issues being experienced in your first set of steps:
