Why is my iMessage not working after update ios6

I just updated my Ipod 4th gen to ios6 and my imessage will not send

I called Apple Support after trying many fixes suggested online. They directed me to the procedure on the following page:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268?viewlocale=en_US
I did the erase and restore option they suggested since I had tried a pile of ther things suggested on posts and blogs and they did not work. I even waited the obligatory 24 hours, thus the restore from backup option was what they suggested. I have a 64gig iPhone 4S and it took about 1.5 hours to complete the entire operation seeing that I am using about 54 gigs of that capacity.
Warning: I lost all of my emails and all of the data files from one of my map programs so be sure you have everything that you really need from your phone store elsewhere before wiping your phone. I thought that the backup on my computer would restore everything but obviously NOT.
Hope this helps.

    Hello, Chirag25.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are having an issue with the back camera.  Here is a troubleshooting article that I would recommend going through.  If none of the troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, see step 4.

  • IMessage not working after updating iOS 6.1

My 4s is not working with my wife's iPhone in iMessage after update. My wife's is not working either.Ive tried turning cellular off and on,been through the settings etc.whats the story with this bug?

I think I have fixed the problem. I tried resetting, etc. I also tried turning off iMessage and then reactivating. it would work for a short time and then lose it.
I noticed that I could not iMessage to my personal email address, which is set up in iCloud. When I tried, the Send button stayed grayed out.
So I edited my contact record, changing the order of two email addresses in the contact record. I had an email address custom labeled iPhone email, and that one was first in my contact record. I changed the order first, making my home (primary) email address the first email in the record. Then, I reentered my phone email address as the last email in the record, and relabeled the phone email address label to read phone emai. Voila! I got a lovely blue talk bubble next to my home/personal email address (the one that is set up with iMessage). Morevoer, I could then direct an iMessage to it. It now syncs my conversations on all devices (iMac, iPhone, iPad 2).
FWIW, iPad is still running iOS 6.0, but if this fix holds, I will update that later today.

  • IMessage not working after updating to IOS 6.1

I just updated to IOS 6.1 on my iPad (version 3).  When the iPad rebooted it was not connected to the internet - I connect through bluetooth with my iphone as a hotspot.  I proceeded past that point without a connection.  Now my iMessage does not work.  It gets caught up when the bar indicates the message is almost sent.  Then the red ! appears and the message is not delivered.
What do I need to do to get this working again?

  • My imessage not working after update to ios6

I have all of my devices under one apple ID, iphone5, iphone 3gs (used as a ipod no number), ipod touch. Once I updated to io6 all heck broke loose. I can not imessage any of my devices nor does it show that imessage is working, ie blue text window. I have tried to go in and unpick imessage or turn it off. when I go to turn it back on it states still waiting for verification, this is on the iphone 3gs and the ipod. I have tried to just have the ipod have marked the email that is meant for it but it also has my mobile number listed from my apple ID which does not belong with the ipod at all so those two devices will not communicate. The 3gs has no number and is used as a ipod for my daughter, so it wants a phone # which there is none and I did not have to put that in before. I can not seem to get it to work at all with imessage.... Any help would be great I just am frustrated at this point with what was a simple feature seems to be a bust...
    Thanks in advance!

I have found that I turn imessage back on and a few days later it turns itself back off so I have to go in and turn it back on again..........very annoying. I am having a lot of problems with 4GS sms and imessaging, and very slow sending texts since upgrade to IOS6 upgrade.

Tried the Send & Receive button. The Apple Id is correct but there is no 'tick' next to the correct telephone number. Number is greyed out so can't click on it.
    Any ideas?

  • Imessage not working after update

I updated to IOS 7.0.6 last night and my imessage hasn't worked all day. I'm not entirely sure what to do. Someone please help, asap ):

    Hi.
I have had an hour long conversation with Apple Senior Technician this morning.
It's clear it is not my devices at fault.  My system shows iMessage is up.  The message even gets thru, but the system is telling lies about "not delivered".
So they are getting some engineers to look more closely at this issue.
I've told them about the many posts on forums about the 7.0.6 update "flaw" (if I can put it that way).  If I get more news, I'll post it.

  • My iMessage and facetime is not working after updating to ios 7... My ipad works perfectly and it's the same apple id.  Any answers or reasons why on the iPhone 5 is not working???

My iMessage and facetime is not working after updating to ios 7...
Any answers on how to fix it?  I've tried to restart, restore connected to itunes, but nothing.

    ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS.  Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages.  If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)).  Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation.  If that does not fix things read the following articles:

  • My new iPad sound is not working after updating to ios 6.1

My new iPad sound not working after updating to ios 6.1. Headphones are working fine. I tried all the troubleshoot. can anyone know the answer, plz share with me

    Hi,
I have exactly the same issue as everyone above. I only get sound through the slider on the ringtone in settings and through my headphones. I do not get any sound anywhere else at all.
    I Have tried:
    - Updating to iOS 6.1.3
    -re starting the device
-checking that the device is not muted. My slider switch is set to mute rather than lock and is unmuted.
-going into general settings and reset all settings
-the device reset several times (waiting until I saw the all important apple logo)
-removing the last few apps I installed.
Nothing at all has worked, please help!

  • Iphone 4 personal Hotspot not working after update to IOS 7.1 India BSNL cellular

Iphone 4 personal Hotspot not working after update to IOS 7.1 India BSNL cellular

BSNL is not a supported carrier. Personal Hotspot requires carrier support and provisioning of the account to enable it. iOS 7.1 disabled the ability to manually configure Personal Hotspot on unsupported carriers.

  • HT1688 My Hot Spot does not work after update to 6.0.1.  Service is with ATT.  Apple says problem is with ATT, ATT says problem is with Apple.  Anyone else having this problem?

My Hot Spot does not work after update to 6.0.1.  Any suggestions?

Ok, I had the same issue, my phone is unlocked(iphone 5 with 6.1.3). So I went to the apple store and had it replaced. it worked good for a day and started doing the same thing. When the apple tech replaced my phone, he transfered my screen protector to the new one.
so I thought it was my sim card, I put in my sisters sim card from a different carrier and it did the same, so then I was like let me take off the screen protector, and that was it.
so guys, if you have a screen protector on your phone and it's doing "low signal", "No Service", "Searching", "Full bars cycle" then take off the screen protector. so far my phone is working normal.
