Why Is my iPad browser crashing constantly

Safari keeps crashing on numerous sites has particular issues with the smh.com.au site.  Can anyone help me here with any options as it is getting very frustrating.  It is much worse than any other product that I have used at the moment.

When web browsing a web page the download frequently gets stuck half to 3/4 done.  If I click in the address bar ( stops the download) then click on the screen (puts the refresh arrow at end of address bar) then click refresh arrow then 7/10 times the page loads immediately.  It is as though the browser is waiting for something that is not being delivered and it made me wonder about iAds.
I have tried
- clearing the cache (settings, safari, clear history, clear cookies and data)
- deleting website data (settings, safari, advanced, website data, delete all),
- deleted files (movies etc) to free up space,
- have done a hard reset,
- have done a settings reset (settings, general, reset, reset all settings),
- backup, reset and restore from backup,
all made no difference.
I was also having the same problem on my iphone 3gs, my wifes new iPad and her iPhone 4gs, I then turned off iAds on the iPad (settings, location, services, system services, location based iAds) and it made some difference but only seemed to reduce the problem by 20%
I also have Microsoft computers on the network that do not have the "stuck browser" problem.

  • Browser crashing constantly on my Ipad 1

I am frustrated with my browser crashing on my Ipad 1.  Does anyone have suggested solutions besides turning off/deleting apps?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If you iCloud turned on, then turning that off may help

  • Why does my iPad 1st gen constantly kick me out of apps?

Why does my iPad close apps every minute or so while I'm using them?  It's frustrating!   Do I need to reset it to factory settings?

Double click the home button, hold down an app icon, and press the red X. Do that for all the apps. You have to clear that, or the device's RAM (temporary memory) gets too full, and starts kicking you out of things.

  • IPad mini crashes constantly

I got an iPad mini with retina display for Christmas, I have had it for a week now and it frequently crashes after using it for a period of time of when quickly switching between apps. The app aren't even 3rd party, there apple apps. I don't get why this is happening? Does anyone else know the same issue or a way to fix it...
I was thinking of going to my local apple retail store to see what they can do?!

I must have gotten lucky in these screen / color rumors or realities because I think the screen looks incredibly awesome.
I tried one if the tips from SergZak who has no problems and started closing apps if I'm not actively using them. I haven't had a crash since, and I was having so many before I considered returning the product. I think that perhaps with our new iPads we are downloading and using a bunch of apps all at once at it's too much for the iPad MRD. While ideally the device would handle anything we throw at it, I really like my iPad MRD and I belive it is the best. Maybe when someone else releases a device that it just pleasing to hold and valuable even when it's turned off, I'll change my opinion.
Anyway, get in the habit if double clicking the home button and swiping up to close apps. My ex has done this for years anyway. Let's us know if you still crash or not. Like I said 0 crashes since implementing is technique.

  • Why is my iPad browser so slow?

I have been very disappointed in the performance of my iPad.  For a device that was designed for apps and and web browsing, it is extremely slow.  I did a PHP speed test from LifeHacker (http://cache.lifehacker.com/assets/resources/stopwatch.php) on my old Centrino 2 laptop and my iPad 1, which are physically side-by-side on the same high speed wireless internet connection.  My iPad has full signal.  For example, it took my laptop an average of 4.4 seconds to fully load LifeHacker on Chrome, while my iPad takes an average of 15.9 seconds on Safari.  Why is this?  Is there a fix?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Why is my Safari browser crashing?

Can kindly help explain why I get this error when trying to open Safari browser?  Thank you in advance!

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
If Safari crashes on launch and you don't have another web browser, you should be able to launch Safari by starting up in safe mode.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • Ipad air crashes constantly

since installing iOS 8,  my ipad air has started crashing repeatedly.
gestures like zoom, causes crash, game playing causes crashes, trying to open a magazine makes it crash.
    rebooting doesnt help
    closing open apps doesnt help

Hi, frequent crashing might sometimes be caused by a full disk space (at least 80-90% free). Happened to my iPhone 4 once, it started lagging and crashing until I cleared it up a bit, worked like a charm since.

  • Why does my ipad 3 crashes so much after installing ios 8?

Since i updated my ipad 3 (64 gb wifi) ios version: 8.1.1 (12B435), its verry slow, the keyboard lags and the worst thing is that it crashes +- 5 tmes a day. At Diagnostics & Usage Data there are a lot (date-date-date)-(random number).panic.ips files and a lot LaestCrash-(app name) files. I have never jailbreaked it or something. I also have reduced motion. Can someone help me cause my ipad is really useless.
    (sorry for the bad english)

    Hi GreenGroen,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the recent iOS 8 update. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact scope of the issues you are describing. If you are having widespread slowness, lagging, or crashing issues with your iPad after a recent upgrade to iOS 8.1.1, you may want to first try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If you are still having issues after a reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPad to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persists before restoring your data. You may find the following article helpful:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • Why does my iPad keep crashing? Is it because its still on iOS 6?

I've had my iPad mini since December 2013 and ive not updated it to ios 7 because I prefer ios 6 and recently In the last month it's been crashing all the time on every app! Including built in apps especially safari and I didn't think not updating it would affect it at all I've also got a iPhone 4 still on ios 6 and that still works perfectly fine. So I'm just wondering does anyone else have this same problem and do I have to update it or something to fix it? (I'd rather not)
Oh and it's not jail broken either.
    Thanks

This will typically fix app instability:
Quit all apps: Double tap the Home button, hold an app icon until it wiggles then tap for each open app, double tap the Home button again.
    then
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

  • IPad 2 crashes constantly with IOS 6

iPad is on IOS 6 crashes several times a day. Reinstalled IOS 6 three times no apps except what comes on OS, iPad 2 with 32gig AT&T cell service. What would cause all this trouble?

If you've restored the device to factory settings and it's still having issues, there's most likely a fundamental hardware issue with the device that needs to be repaired

  • IPad 1, iOS 5.1.1 - App Store crashes constantly

The App Store app on my old iPad 1 crashes constantly when I browse though apps.
I open it, select maybe a category or search for something, open two or three apps and use the "back" button to get back to the overview. Crashes pretty soon.
All other apps are closed, iPad freshly restarted, nothing helps.
It's very difficult to buy something.
    Thanks for your help.

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • HT4623 Whydoes my IPad keep crashing and restsarting following IOS7 update? Jim

    Why
does my IPad keep crashing and restsarting following IOS7 update?

Immediately after installing iOS 7, my sister’s iPad 2 started crashing during ALL apps and restarting. She couldn’t go for longer than 10 seconds without a crash.
Took it to Apple Store and they did everything to try to fix it, and nothing worked, including:
Erase all content and settings and restore from back-up.
Erase all software and firmware, set up as new, did NOT restore back-up, and install iOS 7.
It kept crashing. So it was an internal problem with the iPad that wouldn’t work with iOS 7.
Her iPad 2 was out of warranty, but because of the software issue making it impossible for the device to work, they gave her a new one! Installed iOS 7 at the store (were there for 4 hours!) and the new one is working fine.
