Why is my iPad jumping around like it has a virus?

My iPad has gone insane. The cursor won't stay put. When i click on an app or folder other apps or folders open, it is acting the way a PC would if it had a virus. n I am very concerned. I only got this message out because I used an external keyboard!! Help! Has anyone else experienced this?
And let me answer now, I did not jail break my iPad and it does have the most recent ios 7.1 update.

Since it's not jailbroken, it's not malware of any kind. There's no known malware capable of infecting an iPad that hasn't been jailbroken.
In addition, it is a common internet myth that such behavior is the result of a virus. In reality, no hacker wants to go waving the cursor around under the user's nose. (Or, in the case of an iOS device, tapping and navigating, since there is no cursor.) This is almost never the result of malware on a computer, and definitely never in the case of an iPad.
First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

You didn't, but you are about the 4th person today who has done this. It just wastes my time, and yours, and gets frustrating after awhile.
I do believe you have a screen/logicboard issue and while you can try Restoring it from backup in iTunes, and then as a new iPhone if that doesn't work, I don't believe it will help.

• HT203171 Why is my cursor jumping around?

THe cursor on my Macbook Pro has suddenly started jumping around even when I am touching nothing. It seems to have started after I installed a free Photoshop trial. I have done a Safe Start but nothing has changed.

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
5. Reset the System Management Controller.
6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad or mouse, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

• Acting "funky" like it has a virus

My playbook has just begun to freeze during various activities including this letter, not allowing backing up sometimes and even making you move around within the program, clicking randomly,or then just freezing up completely to the point of the having to restart the tablet. The very first time the device crashed it was during a youtube video..If that makes any difference. I know that the BB OS system is pretty impervious to such worries but the way my playbook has begun to act makes me sketchy. Again this has just begun....Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for causing chaos, Sarah. It is only that though I search the topics for keywords....SO many pages come up.....with SO many different topics that I become confused and frustrated....not only with myself but with the site. Even if I find a thread similar to my own, there are usually a myriad of responses from earlier dates that end up being unhelpful....or actually NOT related to my actual issue. If I do find a thread that is otherwise inclined, I do try to jump in there...if I can find a spot to jump in that actually makes sense. I try to do this on issues that are even old listings, just in case a person may still be struggling with the issue. I believe this happened on the last problem I turned to the forums for. With all this having been explained, I will state that I have continually found these forums to be very helpful in the past and hope to continue throughout the future.
I do not think my device has a virus, as I have been told through this forum before that the OS is impervious to such. I only stated that it was acting "as if" it did for lack of a better way to describe the situation. I am sorry for any confusion that I may have caused with my wording.
The issues also primarily happen during times while I am NOT online; I have only experienced problem once in these forums and twice during email. I am working on your suggestion, but as of yet, am still unable to get it to back-up correctly (continually errors).
Thank you, as always for your time and efforts in assisting me with my BB struggles.

• Why does my iPad have yellow like spots on the screen when the screen is on dark images.?

When I open dark images, my iPad has this yellow like spots around the screen next to the bezel. It only happens when there is a dark screen like for instance when a YouTube video is loadeding or when I have dark pictures. Is this normal.? Or should I take it to the Apple Store.?

first of all was your ipad dropped on a hard floor or something if not then you should just take it to apple as that is not normal you should probably get the device replaced

Thanks for the try. That's what I tried:
public void followBodyPart(BodyPart body) {
double[] coards = getCoardinatesBy(getRadius(), body.getXCoardStart(), body.getYCoardStart(), 180+body.getAngel());

this.setYAcceleration((getYForce(coards[1]) - FRICTION)/MASS);
System.out.println("Player moved.");
} else if (Math.abs(getYForce(coards[1])) < FRICTION) {
this.setYAcceleration(0);
System.out.println("y force is 0.");
} else {
this.setYAcceleration((getYForce(coards[1]))/ MASS);
if (getXSpeed() < 0) {
this.setXAcceleration((getXForce(coards[0]) + FRICTION)/MASS);
} else if (getXSpeed() > 0) {
this.setXAcceleration((getXForce(coards[0]) - FRICTION)/MASS);
System.out.println("Player moved.");
} else if (Math.abs(getXForce(coards[0])) < FRICTION) {
this.setXAcceleration(0);
System.out.println("x force is 0.");
} else {
this.setXAcceleration((getXForce(coards[0]))/ MASS);
}And that's what I got (repeating in the end):
Player moved.
y force is 0.
y force is 0.
Player moved.
y force is 0.
y force is 0.
Player moved.
y force is 0.
Player moved.

• Why does my iPad jump out of apps causing me to loose work

I purchased an iPad air at Xmas & nearly every time I'm in an app like Facebook & agility IMAP it skips out of the app causing me to loose all my information.

You are not understanding what I am saying.
The 128GB storage space in your iPad is NOT the memory I am talking about. I am referring to RAM. The iPad has 1GB RAM and every current iPad out there on 7.0+, is experiencing low memory crashes due to how the system or apps are handling RAM and the system refers to these as low memory,
You can see these low memory errors by going to settings / about / Diagnostics & Usage / Diagnostics & Usage Data. Even if apps are not closing, there are still low memory errors occuring.
Apple needs to fix this problem.

• Why is my cursor jumping around all over the place.

Typing on my Macbook Pro has become nearly impossible. As I'm typing along I'll look up and the cursor has jumped to someplace else on the page...either inputting new text where it doesn't belong or typing over something else. In fact it happened twice just while typing this short question? I googled it and saw one fix posted in 2010...but nothing in OS X Yosemite seems to match what they suggested as a fix. It regards ignoring random trackpad input. Can anyone here help me?

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.

8. A defective peripheral device or a damaged cable can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to behave erratically. If you're using any wired peripherals, disconnect them one at a time and test.
This can happen if your other fingers accidentally touch the screen when you are typing. Check to see if you are doing this. "v", "b", and "n" on the keyboard are quite close to where your thumbs might be when you are typing.

• Why is my Ipad telling me a message has been delivered but my Iphone is not?

I sent an Imessage. Both my Iphone and my Ipad are connected to my apple ID. When I send a message to one particular number, I get a delivered message at the bottom of the text on my Ipad, but my Iphone shows the message with nothing underneath it?
Is the message delivered or not? And why is are both devices telling me different things for the same message?

Hey there SophAliceCus,
If I understand correctly you are seeing in Messages that your, well, messages are being sent, but the receiving party does not actually get them. I would recommend these troubleshooting steps from the following article:
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the best,

My iPad just starting acting strange as if someone is controlling it. It slides through screens at the home screen, it moves the screen up and down, it opens and closes albums in music, and it pulls up the keyboard and starts typing on its own in safari and brings up search items or websites. I thought iPads couldn't get viruses but this definitely seems like a virus. I rebooted it and even restored it back to factory settings and it still does it. What can I do now?
