Why is my iPad running slow since upgrading to 5.0.1?

Since my iPad was upgraded to 5.0.1 it seems to run slower and now it's been crashing out of applications frequently.  Any ideas?  I reboot it all the time to get it to run at a decent speed.

I didn't suffer anything like that with mine, but have hear about people who had the same after restoring from backup. Some said that restore the iPad from scratch (not from a previous backup) solved the problem.

Since updating the software, my ipad runs slow, particularly games and web

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

  • Why is my computer running slow since upgrading to os x yosemite?

I upgraded my MacBook 13" Aluminum (2008) to OS X Yosemite earlier this year, and ever since, my computer has not been as fast as it was on OS X Mountain Lion or before.  It ran fine then, but my speed has fallen harshly.  Is there a way to make my computer operate faster?

Unless you've added RAM since you bought the computer, you could probably increase the performance by adding RAM. The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB.

  • Why is my iMac running slow after upgrading to Mavericks

I have an iMac27 that up until I upgraded to Mavericks ran quite fast.  Now applications take much longer to open.  When the computer comes out of sleep mode it takes from 30 seconds to a minute to open.  All I have is a very dim grey screen and the only thing I can see is the mouse cursor.  I have checked Memory and disk space and nothing seems to be wrong using the activity monitor.  CPU 50 - 70% idle, Memory Physical 4.GB 3.97 GB used 7.07 Virtual, Memory pressure in the green, App Memory 1.47 GB, File cache 272.2 MB, Wired memory 620.5 MB, Compressed 1.63 GB.  Disk space 999.35GB capacity, 441.85 available.  When I did install Mavericks it did come back with a disk error.  Then it loaded fine.  I ran the disk utility and it found and repaired the problem.  Running it successive times since have shown no issues.
    Thanks

  • Aperture and iPhoto Running Slow Since Upgrading to Yosemite

IPhoto and Aperture is now running so slow it is nearly unusable.  It has an especially slow startup.  It was running just fine at first.  I had imported some Canon 5D (original) RAW files, and it has been grinding ever since.  I have tried deleting OS preferences and creating a new library.  Neither suggestion helped the situation.  This happened just a couple of days after the Yosemite update.  I have added all of the latest patches.  I am running it on a very recent MacBook pro.
I rely on this software heavily, so if it is not fixed soon, I will have to switch to Lightroom.
    Thanks,
    Chris

As kq6up mentioned you should try to repair your iPhoto/Aperture library. You can do this by holding down the option-key and the command-key simultaneously as you are launching iPhoto/Aperture. You will get some options to try out.
If that doesn't help, I would recommend using iPhoto Library Manager from Fat Cat Software that looks for duplicates and old thumbnails from previous versions of iPhoto. It should be able to fix Aperture libraries as well. I managed to clean up nearly 40 GB off from my 110 GB library using it and with prog99 tip iPhoto runs blazingly fast again.

  • My computer seems like it runs slower since upgrade.

Is it just me or has mountain lion affected the speed of my computer. I also switched to Firefox and got rid of unneeded stuff so as to clear hard drive space. Loading seems slower, everything seems a little bit slower. I know I should have more than 25 gigs available on the hard drive, but it has been that way even before the upgrade. So no change in that department.
I'm using a 2009 macbook. Can anyone think of any reason besides the hard disk space? I had only 25 gigs before the upgrade and it seemed to be running fine.

How much RAM do you have?  More is always better and it is cheap right now

  • Where did my mute button go?  Why is my iPad so slow after upgrade?

I loved the mute on the bottom flip up window.   Now there is no mute??   Also loading Safari is so slow.  Touch screen does not seem as responsive as well .   All after upgrade to iOS 8.0.2

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • Applications on MacBook run slow since upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard

I have upgraded my MacBook from Tiger to Snow Leopard. After the upgrade, my Mac runs very slowly and it takes several minutes to load a program. I cannot use my graphic softwares and firefox properly, because it takes several minutes to actually start up the application and also to use the application.
My MacBook states that 45 GB from a total of 110 GB are available space. Do I need to upgrade my HardDrive disk space, or do I need to upgrade my Ram?? What can I do so that my applications/software on my MacBook runs quicker (as they have been prior the Snow Leopard upgrade)?
Please advise! Details of my MacBook below.
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 2 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz

Hi...If it were my MacBook I would repair permissions via Disk Utility...(in your Applications > Utilities) folder......as well as 'Verify Disk' while you are in the Disk Utility....both functions are under the 'First Aid' tab...single click 'MacIntosh HD' to select it (left column) and then run First Aid.....see what that shows and does first
Expect some odd error messages while repairing permissions....ignore them...
