Trouble with Safari 6.0.5. Works for a few minutes then locks up in all tabs (wheel spinning). Chrome & Firefox work fine. Using OSX 10.8.4. Wonder if I downloaded plugin causing this? Please help.
Yes, a plugin or an extension either one...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
If it's not a plug-in issue, select the Extensions tab. If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that made a difference, uninstall one at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the culprit. -
after clicking "yes" to the question "do you want to update itunes now", i waited 2 hours and 15 minutes and it was still "loading". i turned computer off thinking something was wrong. now itunes won't open at all. do i need to download itunes again?
Did you actually download the installer from Apple or did you use Software Update. You can download the installer http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Maybe I'm old fashioned but I would consider repairing permissions first using Disk Utility because something caused this to go wrong the first time. And of course make a backup of your whole library first. It shouldn't happen but some have complained about their libraries being wiped out by iTunes updates. Better safe... -
Why is my iPhone 5 on/off button not working
When I got it first was ok but now when I press it to lock screen or turn my phone of it don't work unless I press it on a hard surface for a long time. I sometime have to leave it for minute for the auto-lock to lock it. Please help.
Thanks.Given that you seem to have been able to upgrade to iOS 7, it would appear to be a hardware issue. After all, a mechanical component like a switch is usually the weak spot in most devices. If possible, try to do a hard-restart and see if it helps: hold down Home and Sleep until the screen goes black and the white Apple logo pops up.
Else there will be a visit to the Apple Store in your near future. Hopefully a warranty coverage will make said visit less painful. -
Last night my iphone did an automatic upgrade and when I got up this morning all that was there was the picture of the usb cord and itunes. When I plugged my phone into my computer and open itunes I got this message: iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.
I spent literally all day trying to figure out what to do and finally sucked it up and pushed the restore button in itunes. I'm not getting this message: The iPhone could not be restored. The device isn't eligible for the requested build.
What the heck do I need to do in order to have a functioning phone again?!Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.

My iPad mini won't charge at all. I got it for Christmas off my dad and it is still in brand new condition. Until the other day it has been working fine but until yesterday or the day before my charger went all funny. In order to charge my iPad mini you had to put the charger in an exact place and if someone so much as touched it it would stop charging because it wasn't in its exact position. But today I tried to charge it again and I tried getting it in the same spot as yesterday but it is not working at all. I have only ever charged my iPad mini in the wall but I have seen posts about people charging it in the USB in an computer. So I thought I would also try that but that hasn't worked either and now my iPad mini won't charge in a plug or USB and I live really far away from an apple store and I can't get a new charger also because I live far away from the store. So what shall I do?
When and where was the iPad/charger purchased? It's covered by a 1-year warranty.
The problem may be the USB cable.

Any ideas why my iPhone 5s won't connect to wifi networks. Sometimes does find the networks and others finds them, connects for a few then dropsYou do not say if you tried any diagnostic steps yet. The first thing to do is to do a reset or reboot of the phone. This does not erase anything on the phone and is akin to completely shutting the phone off and then a fresh reboot.
First close all apps - double click on the home button and whisk away the apps toward the top of the phone to close the app.
Now press the home button once to go back to the regular menu screen
No press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake button the the top right side together for 10 seconds. The phone will turn off and reboot.
See if that fixes it. -
Hey guys, tried finding an answer to this somewhere else on the forum, but came up empty. If this has been answered elsewhere, feel free to direct me there.
I have an older macbook pro (2011) that's in rough shape, but worked well up until recently. The symptoms I'm experiencing:
-The computer will charge (all lights are showing green on the charger and the computer)
-When I try to turn it on, sometimes it will turn on fine. Other times it will light up, then shut down immediatly
-If I remove the power cord and insert it again, sometimes it will boot up
-When I can get it to boot up. It will run fine for about 1-2 minutes, open all the programs, then shut down/black out all together (as if the battery was removed)
I'm assuming this is a hardware issue, or a cord issue, but not sure where I should be targeting my efforts. Any ideas? Thanks !Hello FrancisN,

Home button not response ;(
Now, I can't change to other app because home button not response, how do I do?
I bring my iPad to i-studio (Chiang Mai,Thailand) but officer refused he said" I can't help due to u didn't buy it at my shop" I think the warrant's worldwide so I hope i-studio can help although I bought iPad only 2 month.- Can you reset the iPad:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Can you restore the iPad from backup by connecting the iPad to the computer and restoring it via iTunes?
- Next would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPad.
If above is unsuccessful, the I would all/contact AppleCare. Click on the Contact Us link at the bottom right of the page. I am uncertain if iStudio will handle it since I am uncertain of he arrangement Apple has in your country. AppleCare should answer all you questions. -

My iPod touch 4G will not charge. I charged it and when I got it off charge it was really hot but showed it was fully charge then when I turned it on again the battery was dead. Now it won't charge. Please help thanks!
Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod
if still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
I suspect you have a hardware problem. -
My iphone 4s cannot join a public unsecured network, but my ipad and macbook can with no problems. I have reset the network settings on the iphone twice. Both times that fixed the problem but only for a few minutes, then I get the "cannot join network" message again. Please help! What can I do?
Anyone have any ideas or information to help with this? Any help and consideration is MUCH appreciated.

ITunes kept freezing and now it won't start at all
It all started when I downloaded an iTune U class that contained a lot of videos and chose to download all old episodes. It turned out there so many that it would take 25 hours. I tried to abort the downloads, but apparently that messed something up.
First iTunes started up normally, tried to download "83 items" and then started to freeze up after a minute. I had to shut it down via the Task Manager.
Then it got worse, and now it won't start at all. After I click on the icon to open iTunes (I have Windows 8) the screen turns white, the blue wheel spins and nothing happens. When I hold the cursor over the iTunes icon in the task bar I can see two preview tiles (one for Download and one for iTunes itself), but both are blank (all white) and nothing happens - the blue wheel will spin forever. What do I do?
I do have the latest version of iTunes. If I uninstall and reinstall iTunes, will that solve the problem? And will the content of my library still be there? Thanks!Hello, J Appleseed.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can try an uninstall and reinstall of iTunes to see if that resolves the issue. Your iTunes library will not be deleted by doing this. However, this issue could be a result of multiple issues so an uninstall/reinstall may not resolve this. Below, I have included the best articles that will help you isolate and possibly correct this issue. Process each step and test the results after each step processed.

Iphone 4 Home button not working after upgrade to OS 4.3.5
Iphone 4 Home button not working after upgrade to OS 4.3.5.Please help!!!!!!!!
It seems that settings of mail accounts have something to do with it. I've delete my gmail account and am now using Microsoft Exchange. It seems better, yet not perfect. The issue is definitely due to OS 4.3.1
Apple answer is - no answer. It is a shame that the quality of their products, in terms of design and concept, is not match by a care for customers. It is not normal that I, as a customer, have to spend hours reading Apple Discussions forum to try to understand what the problem is. A little more respect for a customer that spend big $$$ buying their products wouldn't hurt.
