Why is my iPhone being slow?

I wasnt sure what section to put this under, but it seems like this is the most general forum...
I've had my iPhone for about 3 weeks now, and it started acting really slow this past week. I constantly clear the internet history, cookies, and cache so it should not be acting up. However last week I was fed up with it and decided to restore it. It restored and after that it worked fine. However for the past two days it has been doing the same thing. So today I restored it again and it was still being slow after it had been restored. Usually what will happen is it will just stall for about 15 seconds on one action and eventually go to it. This can be incredibly frustrating as I sit and wait for the phone to execute the instruction. Anybody know what could be wrong?

Sometimes, slowing and freezing is due to some specific identifiable cause, such as having WiFi turned on and not being connected to a network (the phone is constantly looking for a network to connect to, and this takes up resources).
Other times, it may be due to processes not terminating properly. In these cases, resetting the iPhone may help. Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
If you find that this problem keeps recurring and you are not able to find a specific cause, you may want to have your iPhone serviced.

  • Why is my iPhone so slow

Why is my iPhone 3G so slow. I deleted all pics and messages but it's still slow. When answering a call the slider bar won't move, it takes about 3 or 4 attempts. HELP! It's driving me insane.

Have you done any of the basic troubleshooting steps discussed in the User Guide?
    Restart
    Restet
Restore in iTunes with a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without a backup

  • Why is my iPhone is slow, laggy, unresponsive.

How come my iPhone has slow texting, sometimes unresponsive touch screen interface, slow OS and occasional freezes. Sometimes when I start an application it freezes and a little static happens and then the Apple logo pops up and it's all normal after like 30 seconds. I am trying to reset it and crap and can someone give me an explanation. Also, when does the next firmware update come out, it's been at 2.0 for a while and I want them to fix some of these issues that I presume everyone has been experiencing thus far.

I too am experiencing these problems with safari tending to crash about 10 times a day. More frustrating and something that needs to be cured as a matter of urgency is the text lag that happens at least 2-3 times day, this is a serious issue with the iPhone 3g that renders the basic functions of the phone inoperable. There is nothing worse than typing a paragraph into a forum such as this and have to watch characters appear 2-3 seconds after they were typed, then to hit backspace once only to have to sit and watch while your phone freezes you out and proceeds to delete every word you've typed and subsequently crash out of safari again. The touch steen keyboard is paramount to iPhones sucess as you have no alternative but to use it. Apple needs to get the finger out and fix whatever ram issue is causing this lag, and quickly. I have seen reports of this issue on other forums aswell

  • Why is my iphone 3g slower since software upgrade...

I know other people who have complained about the same thing that the 3g is slower since the software upgrade a few months back. Why? Everything on the phone is a tad slower since the upgrade. Weren't upgrades designed to improve the performance, not decrease it?

are you up to date with the siftware?
do you have a lot of memory left?
have you tried a hard reset? a reset network settings? a restore?
all can be done to try to resolve the issue, try those first before giving up

  • How/why is my iPhone being repeatedly hacked

I don't usually post on this sort of thing but this has been annoying me for quite some time now.
I have read countless posts about 'how the iphone cannot be hacked unless the hacker physically possess the phone' but I tend to believe that isnt true after my phone appleid account was hacked ....7 or 8 times? I've actually lost count now.
Over the last 5 months I repeatedly got those 'How to reset your apple ID password' emails which hinted someone was punching in my username and clicking the 'I forgot password' button. But a few times now amongst the many, many "I forgot" emails there is one in the list of unread emails saying 'Your Apple ID password has been reset.'
Its pretty odd cause whoever is hacking me has nothing I can think of to gain - no credit card details and once they hack into my account, I answer security quetions and gain the account back into my own hands (albeit with a new password. I'm starting to run out of password ideas now as you can't use the same one or even similar again).
All the hackings are happening (from the time I get the emails) I'm guessing somewhere in the northern hemisphere due to the fact it always happens about 2-3am local time for me.
Is there anything more I can do to stop this ****wit hacking into my account? I seriously thought this idiot would have given up by now.
And for anyone thinking it -  no he's not guessing my passwords. I've had so many different ones now with uppercase and numbers there's no way anyone could guess them all (or any for that matter!!).
    Any help would be appreciated!!

If you are receiving e-mail messages that indicate that someone is trying to reset your Apple ID password, they may be phishing scams. Do not click any links in those e-mail messages, and if you make the mistake of doing so, do not provide your current Apple ID password on the page you are directed to.
Unfortunately, in this case, there's nothing to be done except treat those messages the same way you would any other spam.
The other possibility is that someone is actually trying to reset your Apple ID password. This may be due to a malicious attack, but more likely, it's just someone who thinks your Apple ID is actually theirs (due to a typo, faulty memory or something similar) and is trying to "regain" access. In any case, this is merely an annoyance, but you can put an end to it by enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. This will require an additional piece of information that only you will possess in order to even start the password reset process.
If you are actually seeing your password getting changed, and are having to reset it yourself to regain access, you are being hacked. This could be because your password is not strong enough to withstand a brute-force attack by a botnet. It could also be because the attacker already has access to your e-mail address, and is able to intercept the reset e-mail and complete the reset process. Because of that danger, you should change the password for the e-mail account associated with your Apple ID. You should also change the password for your Apple ID, making sure that it is a strong password, and enable two-factor authentication as mentioned above.

  • Why is my iphone 4 slow when updating apps

Does anyone know why it takes days to update some of my apps?

What connection are you using to update the apss? e.g. 3G/4G/LTE/WiFi
If you have a very slow connection that could be the cause of the issue but then again it shouldnt take a couple of days to update an app.

  • Why is Verizon iPhones being left out of the cloud?

Is there a good reason as to why Apple still have not updated the Verizon iPhone to match the iPhone on AT&T?
I can start using some of the iCloud stuff already on my iPad, but it would be nice to have that option and sync with my iPhone.

We're all just fellow users here and have no idea why Apple has not released an update for the Verizon iPhone or when one might appear. You can comment to Apple on the issue, if you wish, via their feedback page:

My iphone is failing my with the signals after i updated the software to ios7

  • Why does iTunes/iPhone 4S insist it can't find a song on my PC or my phone when it is on both? This is resulting in me being unable to use the ringtones I created from these songs, but I can still play the songs.

OK, so I'm clearly a newb. I thought if I asked a question, it would post, and now I'm being told to post a comment, so I'm asking the same question again. Sorry I sound like an idiot. I'm new to this apple/mac stuff.
Why does iTunes/iPhone 4S insist it can't find a song on my PC or my phone when it is on both? This is resulting in me being unable to use the ringtones I created from these songs, but I can still play the songs.

If you have added the ringtone file correctly to iTunes, it will appear under iTunes 'Tones' library.
If you don't find Tones library in iTunes, go to iTunes menu EDIT/PRFERENCES under GENERAL tab, check the Tones Box under Library source to display Tones library in iTunes.
iTunes accepts only m4r file as ringtone and has to be less than 40secs.

  • Why is my iPhone 5 S WiFi speed 50% slower than my MacBook Air 2012?

Why is my iPhone 5 S WiFi speed 50% slower than my MacBook Air 2012?

    Hello jagimc,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected
Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Slow mo video stopped being slow mo...why???

I had a great slow mo video on my phone but all of a sudden it stopped being slow mo...i did not even try to import or export it just stopped working. How do I fix it?

I figured it out. Only you need another Apple product, like iPad, so you import thru AirDrop video to iPad, and then just import it to PC, connected thru wire.
    Thats it.
Works from iPhone 5s to iPad mini retina

  • HT4623 Why is my iphone 4 SO slow updating!!!???

Why is my iphone 4 SO slow updating!!!???

How much free space do you have?  When was the last time you restarted the phone (Home & Sleep buttons held together)?    Have you cleaned out unused apps?
All of these will diminish performance of your phone.
