Why is my IPOD screen white?

Why is my IPOD screen white? I have a 3rd generation Ipod nano. When I toggle it on, the screen lights up, but is blank. Is there a fix for this problem? I have reset and reformatted my Ipod with no success. After several on/off cycles it will usually return to a normal screen, but it is very time consuming. My Ipod still works when the the screen goes bright white- I just can't see anything to adjust, etc. Thanks for any info.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Why is the ipod screen on all the time when plugged in

and conversely, why does the screen only show the time when you are actually walking around playing music?
Is there any way to change that? I want to see what song is playing, not what time it is or whatever that number on the screen means.

I don't want it to stay ON, ie lit -- I just want the information on the screen to stay the same, is that so hard? The time is on that screen anyway, why not give us an option to leave it that way? The battery lasts plenty long compared to older ipods.

IPod screen WHITE but still responding...?

I've had my iPod touch for a year (4th generation) and 3 days ago I restored it because it was working slow. Yesterday around 4pm, the screen turned completely white. I know it still responds because when I plug it into the computer, it says there is an iPod plugged and it makes that sound when you charge it. I tried pressing the sleep and home button but the screen just turns black and stops responding until about a few seconds when it is turned on. I just tried to restore it again but that doesn't work either. What do I do???
Im atm trying to drain the battery (waiting for it for 12 hours) and than a restore
its not the hardware im 100% sure of it and i dont have warranty to it anymore

It is likely that the display i defective and needs replacing but it could be the logic board. If the logic board then having Apple exchange it for this price i likely the best bet.

TS1382 why did my ipod screen lose contrast and become barely readable?

My ipod classic has been kept connected to power and to my stereo. Yesterday morning I found the screen to be washed out, so bright you can barely read it. Changing the brightness setting helps but doesn't return it to the original state. I do not find a contrast setting. Is there a way to correct this and does anyone know why this may have happened?

Thanks. The backlight is still working and the screen is just barely readable (it seems as if I could adjust the contrast I would be OK). I did a hard reset and have been putting off a retore because I have not backed up all my playlists and I am afraid of tinkering too much and lose what I have. The ipod is maybe three years old. The software is up to date. If it were a hardware problem wouldn't the whitening be gradual? This happened, literally, overnight. Could the power source for the charger be the culprit? I live on a boat and the power is 110 inverted from a 50 hz generator. Guests (I have a charter boat) with ipads have noticed odd behavior when they plug in with the ipad charger. They seem to be able to charge their ipads with my ipod charger with no problem. Could be no connection (also, my husband's cell phone whited out a couple of days ago..may all be a coincidence as that phone has a few years on it, as well)...just thought I'd throw that info in the pot in case you know of any connections between charging and hardware malfunctions. I just bought my ipod touch its 4th gen 16 gb and iv had it not even a month. i dropped it in school today and it was the first time i ever dropped it. Now the screen is white but it still works i just cant see anything i can play music from the lock screen and i can skip a song and go back a song from the lock screen but its white i cant see anything. someone told me to let it go dead and that it might turn back on

If you still have the problem after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod, then you have a hardware problem Maybe you did something incorrectly or maybe there is another problem

my ipod nano screen is white, with one big line running down it, its playing the sounds but it wont show the playlists or options. its also being recognised by the itunes
i tried the reset thing- but that doesnt change anything.
do i have to take it to a service desk, where in london do i find that and will it cost a lot.

Half the screen is blurry and I don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothng will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

Why is my iTunes screen white on black?

With the latest iTunes upgrade, the iTunes screen is viesing as white on black in most - but not all screens.
I've tried accessibility conrols but they weren't the problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the smae thing is happening. Here's a screen shot so you can see what I mean.

I had the same problem and this resolved it for me. Apparently the black on white mode is called a "high contrast" mode or something like that. I'm not sure how it can accidentally be enabled but apparently it's not unheard of. All I did to fix it was type...
defaults write com.apple.iTunes high-contrast-mode-enable -bool FALSE
...into the terminal, close and restart iTunes...problem resolved!

Why is Register software screen white, nothing opens or works?

I never registered my software i always hit LATER now it wont open or even show the register your software screen tabs or words. It worked fine last week.
A graphic artist I gave files to said some of my files were corrupt, I tried to open the files to see what he was talking about and I can not get past this blank white register your software screen to see whats is the matter, is this a sign that my photoshop files are corrupt?

Why is my ipod screen blank?

I am having trouble with my ipad. When i try to switch it on, only a backlight comes on for a couple of seconds then turns blank again. I have restored my settings to the default settings, and updated the software. Does anyone have any info or feedback please?? Cheers.

The iPad is clearly faulty, you are going to have to take it to an Apple retail store to get it refunded or replaced.
