Why is my iPod Touch now repeating songs once in the Bose Dock?

Why is my iPod Touch now repeating songs once in the Bose Dock?  How do I get this to stop?  I have already done a factory restore and then reloaded my music onto this iPod.

I had this problem after upgrading to iOS4, but didn't discover it until I got to the gym and went to start my workout! No music (except the stuff they play at the gym) meant a short workout for me!
I figure that the glitch comes from the fact that when you upgrade to iOS4 iTunes takes a backup of your iPod, does the firmware update and then puts the backed up content back on, I'm thinking that there are some subtle differences between iOS3 and iOS4 that cause confusion.
THE FIX! I have found that the best fix (in fact the best course of action) is to restore the iPod from iTunes (just hook it up and hit the "Restore" button and tell iTunes to treat it as a new iPod. Then just re-sync all your content and it should work perfectly. It is a much easier way of getting your iPod updated without as many glitches.
HTH!!

  • My ipod touch now skips songs I bought from itunes (only the ones from 2013 to now) and won't play them. How do I fix this?

Hey folks! My iPod Touch now skips songs I bought from iTunes (but only the songs I have purchased since 2013) and won't play them. What do I do?

First try deleting the songs and redownloading them
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    Next
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • Why does my ipod touch stop playing songs when i click to play, it plays for a few seconds sometimes longer and then goes onto the next song. Help!

Please help,my ipod touch stops playing songs sometimes a few seconds in and then other times halfway. It cant be the song because different songs do it each time. Ive tried to restore it and it makes no difference :(
Please help as this problem gets very annoying. Thanks!

Did you restore to factory defaults/new iPod and sync stuff to your iPod?  If you restore from backup there may be some corruption that is now in the backup.

My ipod touch 3rd generation is not charging in the Bose Docking station (manufactured 2005). How to solve this problem ? SOftware required or hardware adapter required ? Thanx

    - Is the iPod fully seated in the dock?
    - Does Bose say the dock is compatible with your model iPod and it iOS.
    - Did it every work?
    - Some users have reported that their iPod did not fully work with their dock after updating the iOS on the iPod.
There or no setting for docks.

  • Why does my iPod touch keep repeating the same song?

Since I loaded the software update 4.1 my music keeps replaying one song unless I choose to shuffle. What have I done?

    Hello jennysipod,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Make sure you don't have your iPod set to repeat one song. While one song is playing, tap the artwork to bring up additional controls. You'll see a icon below the scrubber on right side that probably has a 1 on it. Tap it to change the setting to something else such as off.

  • Why is my iPod touch prompting me to restore to the factory settings? Some of my apps have stopped responding. Is this why? I plugged my iPod touch onto my iTunes account and a message popped up saying that iTunes couldn't read the iPod

I plugged up my iPod touch to my iTunes library and it said that it couldnt recognize the iPod and the message told me to restore my iPod? Why would it prompt me to restore the factory settings? Also if I restore the iPod will it erase all of my music even though my music is in my library?
Some of my apps stopped working would this be the reason I need to restore my iPod? I am scared to restore the settings and lose all of my music.
I also put all of my apps in the utility folders, would this have anything to do with my iPod needing to be restored?

Becasue something got corrupted on the iPod. It happens sometimes. Just restore the iPod to factory settings/new iPod and then try restoring from your backup.

  • Why is my ipod touch showing that I dont have the software?

Okay...well I know the question is kind of vague but here it is...My iPod Touch was working fine until I tried to update the software...now it's showing the screen when you first turn your iPod Touch on when you first get it and turn it on (if that makes any sense). My iPod is not even showing that it is connected to my computer!! I have checked my CPU and the only things plugged into USB ports is my keyboard, mouse, and my iPod Touch.I tried restarting my computer and everything but it did no good. What am I supposed to do??

You do not need any app.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • Ipod Touch (1g) repeats songs until manually selected

My iTouch is a marvel. Enjoy the apps very much. The music part - not so much. No matter what I select, when I pick a playlist, the touch plays the same song over and over and over...
I read the other threads about selecting the loop or shuffle. Doesn't work with this one. No matter which of those options is lit up, it repeats playlist songs indefinitely until manually forced to go forward - then it repeats THAT song. I reset the machine and restored it but it didn't change its behavior. I am beginning to think it is a problem with this iTouch. Considering a warranty claim. My clickwheel ipod behaves normally. Anyone have any ideas?

If a full restore to factory standards won't fix it then take it into the Apple store , make an appointment so you don't have to wait, and have them look at it.

The iPod's firmware is corrupt. You'll need to restore it again in iTunes. If necessary, place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to recognize the device. Use the instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process of placing the iPod Touch into recovery mode.
