Why is my Macbook Pro has not installed iMovie?

I read that the Macbook Pro have installed iMovie and other applications by default, but my macbook doesn't have them. When I look for the program in the app store gives me the price to buy it, the cloud does not appear as in the past with other apps.
I'll have to pay for it? please help me

Try quitting all open applications before clicking Shut Down from the Apple menu.
You can tell which apps are open by the small reflection just under the app icons in the Dock.

My Macbook Pro has not been running correctly since "upgrading" to Yosemite. It has been sluggish no matter what program I am using, slow to respond to mouse movements, and unable to stream video. Any word on when Apple is going to send out a real upgrade?

    Try Reset SMC.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

  • MacBook Pro will not install iPhoto

My new macbook pro would not let me update my iPhoto application. So, I was told to try to delete it then reinstall it. The apple tech I emailed with told me this was because I needed to download the iOS x lion software so I did and it will not let me reinstall my iPhoto back to my computer. When I try doing so, it asks for my apple ID and password, I enter it, then a message appears that says, "These apps cannot be accepted on this computer. Future updates of these apps can be found through Software Update." What do I do to get my iPhoto back!

Contact the apple tech you worked with and have him resolve the issue for you.

  • Why does my Macbook Pro battery not even last me 2 hours even just browsing the internet or typing a document?

So my Macbook Pro 2011 that isn't even a year and a half old only lasts me about 2 hours of battery.  My brightness is set to only 4 notches most of the time and I mostly have google chrome and itunes or spotify open when I am using it.  I have to charge it about 2 times a day.  My old original unibody macbook lasted a longer time than this.  Today, my fans were running faster than normal and my battery drained 20 percent in less than a half hour.

  • My Macbook Pro will not install/restart for updates when I use Software Update

So when I go into System Preferences and go to Software Update, I click the Check Now Button. It looks for available updates, and gives me a box that says "Software updates for your computer are ready to be installed. Do you want to install them now?" with options to "Show Details", "Not Now", and "Install and Restart". However, when I hit the install and restart button, after hitting a few confirmations, the app simply logs me out, but doesn't restart the computer. When I restart the computer from the Log In screen, the computer reboots without installing any of the updates. I'm on Snow Leopard, is that why updates aren't installing? Am I going to have to manually download all of the updates, or at least that updates that are compatible with Snow Leopard?

There are no updates for Snow Leopard except to Mountain Lion.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
             7. Xserve (Early 2009)
         Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
Am I eligible for the free upgrade?
See Apple - Free OS X Mountain Lion upgrade Program.
For a complete How-To introduction from Apple see Upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • My MacBook Pro will not install OS X Mountain Lion

I decided to wipe my macbook pro's hard drive. Once I did, I had to re-install OS X Mountain Lion. Well, it asked me for my Apple ID and Password. When I enter it, my computer says "This item is temporarily unavailable. Try again later." I've heard of other people having this issue and I have not seen a resolution to this issue. How do I install OS X Mountain Lion?

Sorry, if I sound silly on this next question, or string of questions, but:
    What does EFI stand for?
Is it an acronym for something?
I thought that my MacPro is 64bit? Well that is as far as I remember the salesman telling me, back when I did the B.T.O spec.
I am running 64bit apps [in full 64bit mode] as far as I understand. Like the CS suiite.
    If I look at "About Photoshop…" it says — Version 12.1 x64
Doesn't that mean that it is running 64bit apps?
Or are you saysing that the "entire operating system" / "bios" or whatever it is called in Mac language, is not actually capable of running as 64bit?
I need to find my box, that came with the MacPro, ans just have a look at the info that is detailed on it. As as far as I can remember there was even a big "64bit" flashy thing, somewhere on the outside of the box.
But in the meantime, if you can perhaps help with the earlier questions.
    And perhaps one more …
Where woudl I find the info / persons that I could investigate that "Hack", as I may need to investigate that a little. If anything just to be better informed, for the future. At the end of the day, if I have to scrub the entire Mac to the beginging, and reload everything, so be it, at least it will be a learning curve in the process.
I have all the legal software installers etc, so all that it will cost me is time, if it does "kill" the operating system …

  • Why does my Macbook pro 1226 not work with my new Apple USB Superdrive? USB works otherwise but when I connected my new drive it clicks and then thats it. I put the DVD in but it doesn't grab it or attempt to access it at all.

    Hi Everone,
I purchased my 2007 Macbook pro 1226 online for a song and other than this annoyance i've been very satisfied. But lately i'm missing the use of my internal super drive to view DVD's (Always seem to miss what we don't have Grrr). So I figured I would purchase a brand new USB Apple Superdrive, problem solved right? NOPE. Now I've found that my pro doesnt seem to like it one bit and all USB's work fine so it's not that.
I will be disapointed if this can not be resolved, My Macbook is otherwise perfect and better than any new PC I've ever had.
Can Someone try and help me please?

I do know that for new MBPs there is a no questions asked return policy if returned within 14 days of purchase.  I am not certain if that applies for peripherals.  If you have not damaged it, I would think that the odds are on your side if you return it for a refund.  Obviously you have a good reason for the return.
Then it may be a good reason to purchase a new MBP.    In any event, call the store and ask.
    Ciao.

  • Why is my MacBook Pro safari not connecting to the internet?

The past week I have been trying to use Safari on my MacBook Pro but it keeps saying Safari can't verify the identity of the website. I am not sure how to get rid of the popup, so I can continue to use the website. What do I need to do to resolve this?

Which website?  Is it one in particular, or dose it appear on every website?
When you open Safari, does it always open with this site?

  • Macbook pro will not instal os x

I have a problem after downloading the OS X Mavericks update from Mac App Store.
I started the installation of the OS X, but it stops due to a "damaged disc" and won't go any further no matter what I do: either restarting or switching off and on the Macbook Pro doesn't change anything, because the installation window shows up again, and again, on re-loop and the same problem occurs.
What should I do? I don't have certain important files backed up. Will I lose everything if I try to re-install my system with the original installation DVD?

You should be able to simply quit the installation application - failing that, go under the Apple menu and select "Force Quit" and you should be able to quit the installation.
After you've quit the installation, delete the file "Install Mac OS Mavericks.app" in your Applications folder and try the download of Mavericks again. If you still get the "damaged disk" error, it means that there's something wrong with your hard drive. In that case, boot into your Recovery partition and you'll see:
    (Thanks to OGELTHORPE!)
Use Disk Utility to first Verify and, if needed, repair the disk. If the disk cannot be repaired, call back.

  • Why does my Macbook pro 2008 not recognize  my external dell flat monitor(TV)?

    Hello all ,
Its hooked up with a dvi cable from mac dvi port to dell monitor dvi port. My macbook is running mountain lion.
The Monitor light on the front  blinks green and then goes into " power save mode" a black screen.
Thanks for any ideas on how to get this external monitor working.

    Reboot, then try this
    http://www.ehow.com/how_5811316_connect-macbook-dell-external-monitor.html
I'm really guessing here actually since no one answered your post.
You might find better luck searching on Google "Macbook pro plus Dell monitor" for the most recent information.
The SwitchREsX is supposed to be very capable and enable more resolutions for other monitors besides Apple ones.
I think you can hold option/alt when clicking on Displays in System Preferences for a more complete list of options.
Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

  • My MacBook Pro will not install yosemite

MMy installation will not work at all it sits at 22 minutes remaining then cuts out and pops a message saying 'file system verify or repair Failed' then I try to to verify disk to repair it but it says I have to repair it first! Help I can't use my MacBook!

Since it sounds like after you did the install it worked good for you, but after using migration assistant you ran into problems . I would have to say that something in you older files is causing a problem. Try booting in safe mode.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262  Then is this works go to your system preferences /users/login items and uncheck any that are there. Then go to security and uncheck require password. You might have to unlock and inter password to do this. Then go to utilities/console/crash report and see if you can port it in here.  See if you can now boot normally.

  • My camera on my macbook pro has not been functioning at all. What do I do?

I try restarting my computer (multiple times...) and I still can't get it to work! Please, offer any and all help you can! It's really starting to become an annoyance, and I need it to work! Once you have the drive connected to your Mac, click System Preferences (gear icon) on the dock
    Click Time Machine
    Click Options
Be default, the hard drive will be Excluded from backups. Click the drive to highlight it, then click the "-" (minus) button at the bottom of the list to remove the drive from Excluded items.
The drive will be backed up on the next Time Machine pass
Everything above assumes that the hard drive has been formatted in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as Time Machine will only backup drives in that format.
