Why is my mail icon not showing unread email messages?

For some reason, my mail icon is no longer showing my badge icon displaying the number of unread emails I have. Within mail, next to my mailbox, it no longer shows the number of unread emails either even though there are clearly email messages with the blue dot indicating they're unread. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Open Mail, go to top and under Mail select Preferences. Click on general and make sure where it says 'Dock Unread Count, you have it set to Inbox Only or All Mailboxes, whichever you want and that it isn't set to none. If it is already set then try cetting it to none, close mail, restart, open Mail and go and change it again from none to what you want.

When I create a new message in Mail there are no icons at the top just text. Is there a way to change it back to displaying both? What is strange is that otherwise (when I reply for instance or in the Toolbar) both icon and text are there.

Thank you. I had to select the search from the menu instead og by right clicking but it worked just the same.

Why do Apple Mail attachments not show in SENT?

I use Mountain Lion OSX10.8.2 on a 27" iMac/1TB HD/12GB RAM.
When I write an Apple Mail email and attach a jpg (for example),
I am never sure if the attachment was sent.
Apple Mail will not show me in SENT that there was an attachment.
There is no record of the attachment on the previous sent email.
Am I missing something? How the heck am I suppose to know if
ANY attachment was sent or not?

Hmm I thought this got sorted out in 10.8 but maybe not.
I asume you are in full screen, with the three column view?
If you change to classic you should see the attachment paper clip?
What I had to do for a work-a-round was create a "rule." Even with this you have to right click the selected sent box>> apply rules

Why is my image icon not showing up for subscribers?

I'm using podbean which produces the itunes feed and auto-submits it. You can see the icon when you visit the itunes page on the web - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/bloggersareweird/id589296259 but when you actually subscribe via iTunes the icon does not show up either on desktop/laptop iTunes or iPad/iPhone.
Can someone take a look at my feed and see what I did wrong? My image dimenstions are 1400x1400 which is the recommended size, I believe.

Though the image which appears in the iTunes Store is referenced in the feed (as you have done) the image which appears in some podcasts when subscribing is not. It has to be actually embedded in the media file, and can be different for each episode if desired.

You should also be able to use the %LocalAppData% environment variable instead of %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local

Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders".
You may want to un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types" to see the file extensions of all files.

G-Mail Account Not showing up in Messaging Folder

On my Droid X, that I can't say enough about, I noticed that my G-mail Account is not showing up in the Messaging folder. I have tried the "manage account" option and it shows the account, but on the main messaging screen, it is only showing my comcast, facebook, twitter and texting folders. Subsequently, I'm not receiving my g-mail unless I use the browser and log into the gmail account that way... Any thoughts or suggestions?

Try adding a folder by doing these steps. Hope this helps!
If there is no room on a specific homescreen, the option to add shortcuts or folders will be greyed out. Select another homescreen to add or resize/remove existingg widgets to make space.
Add a Folder
1. Press Menu hard key, press + Add,
2. Select Folders
You will be presented with a list of data and documents you can access by or save into a folder. (New folder, All contacts, Bluetooth received, Favorites, Phone Numbers, Recent, Statues)
3. Select a folder from the "Select folder" menu to place it on a homescreen. You can adjust its position once its on the homescreen.
Add a Shortcut
1. Press Menu hard key, press + Add,
2. Select Shortcuts.
You will be presented with a list of features that can be turned into a shortcut icon on your homescreens for quick access to the particular application or feature. (Applications, Bookmark (internet), Contact, Contact Search, Dialer, Navigation, Gmail label, Latitude, Music Playlist, Picture Slideshow, Settings, Voice Dial).
Any application icon from the Applications tray can be used to create a shortcut. Tap and hold on the icon in the applications tray. The applications tray will hide away and you can drop the Application icon on your homescreen. This icon now becomes a shortcut to that application.
3. Select a shortcut from the "Select shortcut" menu to place it on a homescreen. You can adjust its position once its on the homescreen.
Notes:
The top row (right below the Google Search bar) cannot be used for shortcuts or folders.
To remove a shortcut or folder press and hold the item and drag it to the App try icon (trash can).
If an error message appears, you can drag the message into the trash as well.

Outlook 2013 folders not showing unread email count for incoming emails

When a new email comes in, it would show up in its folder in bold, indicating it's unread email, which is good, but there is no blue number (unread email count) next to the folder. Outlook repair didn't help. No one else on the network has this problem.
How to fix it so when a new email comes in the unread email count would update itself?

Please right click on one folder, and select Properties, and make sure the "Show number of unread items" option is selected. If it is already selected, change it to "Show total number of items", click OK. Then, change it the "Show
number of unread items" again to see the result.

Attachments not showing when email message printed

I recently sent an e-mail with 11 attachments. When I printed that e-mail message, it did not show the 11 attachments in the body of message as has previously. Any suggestions?

Fixed it on my machine! Found the solution via an similar problem people were having in the Aperature program.

I did a spotlight search for 3ivx on my computer and it found an 3ivx UNINSTALLER.
After uninstalling 3ivx and restarting - MOV VIDEO files worked again in my Apple Mail client.
I wasted 2 weekends of clean installs etc etc. Glad it's ficed though.

Why are my (mail) accounts not showing in notes?

i have been having problems with my iphone notes NOT syncing with my ipad and macbook. so i deleted all the notes on my iphone (after printing them) and now nothing shows in notes--not even my different email accounts to choose from. notes doesn't show my gmail accounts and not even the iCloud accout.

You may need to restore your phone to fix this. If you want a second opinion bofore doing so make an appointment with the Genius bar at a nearby Apple store to have them take a look at it. If you do decide to restore your phone, be sure to create a current backup first. (It's much faster if you do this in iTunes by clicking Back Up Now on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings. Also in iTunes go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer your apps and other purchased media to your iTunes library. Finally, if you have any photo stream photos that are older than 30 days that are not in your camera roll, save them to your camera roll before restoring backing up your phone by opening your My Photo Stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.)

On yahoo home page, why does the mail icon not work since they updated?

None of the stuff located on the left side of page work. To get to yahoo mail, I have to type "mail" in the search box to get the link. The home page of yahoo is just totally messed up now. I am running Firefox 33.1.1 on Linux Mint 9 if that means anything.

New BT Mail does not show my email from my sub-acc...

Since I have been moved to BT Mail from BT Yahoo, my sub-account hasn't been moved as well. I have only just found I haven't had all the emails from that account. I can't find out how to add it on. Can anyone tell me (please explain fully as I am not technical) how I can do this, or if it is even possible?

Why does my iPhone 4 not show what my messages says when locked? It says ''message" but not what the person has said?

My iPhone 4 when locked or when unlocked when I receive an iMessage doesn't tell me what the person has said. When my phone receives a message it says 'message' underneath the persons name but not what they have said. Please help me?

Also enable Show in Lock Screen on that setting.
Also, Settings/General/Passcode Lock. Set the options.

App icons not showing up after downloading?

Why do my app icons not show up on my iPad2? I have purchased the apps on my iPad directly. Also, I know they are there because when I search it finds them and then I can open and run them.

Could the Apps be on the second page of Apps? From your Home page, wipe across from right to left to scroll to page 2.
If that is the problem, press and hold on the icon. When it starts to wiggle, you can drag it back to the first page. This can also be done from iTunes when the iPad is selected.

Leopard Mail Not Showing # Unread Messages in Dock Icon

For some inexplicable reason, my Leopard version of Mail has stopped showing unread message notifications. I still hear the mail ding, but there's no little red badge on the doc icon showing how many unread messages I have. And, yes, the "Dock unread count" is set to all mailboxes since I have multiple email accounts I check. Has anyone else had this problem and how do I fix it?

I have had 2 "unread mail" items showing up for weeks and have been agonizing over what and where they were, how important the "unread" mail was, and what life experiences, deals, etc., I was missing out on. Creating a Smart Mailbox showing Unread mail worked - one caveat however: Add a second condition - that the the Unread Mail be in your INBOX (forgetting to add this condition this showed me HUNDREDS of unread mail items that resided in my OTHER Smart Mailboxes).
It worked. I found, read, and deleted my "unread mail" - Nothing important. Thanks again!
