Why is my mapquest not working with iphone 4 with newest upgrade?

I upgraded my iphone 4 to new OS and now my mapquest app will not work. I deleted it and re-installed and I enter an address and then it just goes to mapquest icon and will not connect and allow me to get verbal directions. Is there a problem with new iphone upgrade and mapquest app?

I guess you mean that iMessages is not working?
If so, try
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Check Settings > General > Restrictions, and check out Contacts toward the bottom under the privacy restrictions.
That sounds like the probable cause you cannot add contacts.
Regarding the iCloud behavior, that sounds like it got huge (35,000) because of incorporating other contacts (from social media, perhaps). Also contacts sync has nothing to do with iCloud behavior. The whole idea of keeping your contacts in the cloud is that once you change them on one device, they change everywhere. Specific syncs are not relevant.

Just counter-check the following settings.
1. Settings>General>Set Side Swith To: Rotation Lock
2. Make sure side switch is not in lock position
3. If necessary do a reset a few more times

Why does this script not work when run with osascript cli?

I wrote the following to interface with geektool to display a list of todo's on my desktop (i'm sure it's been done elsewhere, but I wanted to try it myself). I had it working fine until I tried ordering the output to place the highest priority items at the top of the list. The following code works properly during development in Script Editor, but when geektool launches the command using osascript ~/Library/Scripts/todos.scpt it only displays the initial "TODOS:" without displaying the rest of the info. Searching the Applescript Release notes, I found that some versions of Applescript 1.8 had issues with null characters when using the osascript cli, however, I'm running 1.10.7 so it shouldn't be an issue (and I'm not sure how to check for null characters in Applescript even if it were). Anybody have any ideas on what's going on here?

well, i'd been pulling my hair out for quite a while with this and decided it was time to ask for help, but I thought I'd give it one last shot and found a resolution almost immediately. I figured that problem had to be caused by the way applescript was concatenating the lists, so I got rid of the lists completely and it still wouldn't work. This convinced me that it must be newline related since that was the only special character left in the string. I opened up the script in vi, but the default compiled script format is not human readable. The osascript man page indicated that it would accept both compiled and text scripts, so I gave it a try, and osascript handled the raw text file wonderfully.

Loading store is super slow and while previewing songs, ITunes is always buffering. I'm running windows 8 and there is no compatibility mode for it. My internet connection is good and fast. What can I do?

Wireless not working after iPhone 2.0 upgrade

I have the original iPhone and upgraded to 2.0 Friday night. No problems with the upgrade, but now I can't get onto any wireless network. It is not detecting networks and I am not able to manually add networks that I have access to.
Seems others are having similar problems with wireless. Will there be an update soon?

Ah! That explains it. I got a "No Wifi" gray field on Monday night, after a day of strange WiFi behavior (weak reception, required you to specifically select WiFi networks that used to be remembered and chosen automatically). Reset didn't fix it. Restore didn't fix it. Waiting 12 hours somehow fixed it.
This now makes sense.
I was going to complain about battery life, but since I'm now using (weak) EDGE more than WiFi, I can see why...

I have a Mac running OS 10.8.5 and I use Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader. Today for some reason, any time I try and access a pdf file from a web page, it won't open. I get a blank window. PDF files already on my computer open fine and I can create PDF files from Word docs, but I can't download or view any pdf file from any web page. Strangely, PDF files on web pages open just fine on my iPhone.
I checked that both my copy of Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Reader are up-to-date. They are.
I checked that my copy of Firefox is up-to-date. It is. And nothing changed with Firefox within the last 24 hours.
I am a humble computer end-user. I am baffled as to why this would suddenly not work. I have not changed any settings, etc. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I checked your instructions you sent and as far as I can tell all of my settings, etc for Firefox (plugin updates and preferences) are correct but I am having the same problem.
However, everything works in Safari. I don't have time to attempt to diagnose why Firefox no longer works. I will just switch to Safari.

BTW- Your profile shows you have iOS 6.1.4 installed. The max iOS for an iPad is 6.1.3. iOS 6.1.4 is for iPhones only.

Actually, I just found the answer to my issue in this thread: The type correct/predict function for mail and text in iOS 8.0.2 was working fine then suddenly disappeared and reverted to the old style. I've checked all settings that seemed appropriate. How do I restore? I actually liked the new version.
Which says "a thin gray bar with a white dash in the middle of it immediately above the keyboard, you can reopen the suggestions by sliding up with one finger on the white dash."
That did it.
I too have noticed a change, it seems with the new IOS update. My Predictive setting is on, but it seems before it would come up more often in predicting words and also give me a few choices. Now, it's not coming up as much and only providing one 'predictive' word which is not always right. This change is not very useful.

You get the message because that is exactly the situation. Apple has not allowed any Flash on iOS devices.
What site are you trying to see? Many sites now provide Flash alternatives. For example, if you want to listen to Pandora, instead of using the Flash on the Pandora website, instead you download the Pandora app for the iPad.
In the future, even if Apple wants to add Flash to the iPad, it won't be able to because Adobe will no longer be making it at all, for any mobile device:

If you often go to sites that use a lot of Flash and they don't have an alternative, you should write to them and tell them to stop using Flash.
