Why is my numeric keyboard not working on windows 7 via boot camp?

What ever I use the numeric keypad on the Apple Wired Keyboard on Windows 7 boot camp. It does not work. I have to use the number on the above of my letter case part. I tried using the numeric keys on calculator or games. It functions more like fn, home, page down, page up. WTH? Why is it functioning like the keys between the numeric keypad and keyboard? The drivers installed just fine and I got all the windows updates along with apple updates. I even went to keyboard options in boot camp control panel and it still does not work.

Here is your answer - just found it on MacRumors as I was experiencing the same problem. Ready - got a pen and pencil available: Hit "Clear" lol, yup, that is your on off button for the numeric pad. :-) Be sure to share with others.
The "Clear" Button is located above the number  7. 65431354684318643516879 <---- numerica keypad fun.

  • CD-ROM`s are not working on windows 8 (Boot Camp)

I have installed Windows 8 in my MacBook Pro (2011) And it works fine. I updated my boot camp drivers today and now sound and brightness works great But i have one problem, im trying to install my pc game to windows 8, but the disc wont appear anywhere on w8. I see it on MAC side, but not on windows side. What i can do? I have searched information of this, but i cant find anything. Somebody can tell me what i have to do?
    Thank you!

Did you check Control Panel>Device Manager  ?
Open up the DVD/CD-ROM Drives and see if your drive is even listed.
If it is try updating the drivers.
If not Run Action>Scan for Hardware Changes and see if Windows finds the Drive.

  • Wireless mouse does not work in Windows XP (Boot Camp)

Is there a way to get my wireless (Bluetooth) mouse to work under Windows XP? It is the mouse that came with my Mac Pro.
I managed to install Windows XP Professional and the Boot Camp drivers w/o a mouse. But now that XP is running fine I still have no mouse. Tried the Control Panel > Bluetooth > Detect Devices (can't remember exact wording), but no Bluetooth device was detected.
Yes I read the Boot Camp installation guide but hope that the USB mouse requirement was only for the installation part and that there is a way to make the mouse work after the Boot Camp drivers are installed.
    Many thanks for your help.
    Olaf

Most untrue works just fine under Windows actually ,however you do need to repair with windows .AND only after OSx pairing complete AND the Boot camp drivers are installed in Windows.
It uses a special profile to allow pairing in what is in essence two differing computers !
Having said that to get the mighty mouse to pair under windows can take a bit of effort.
When if finds the mouse and asks for a pairing password try either none or 0000!

  • Wireless not working in Windows XP Boot Camp

I've just installed Leopard and Windows XP Home/Boot Camp. Everything is working great except the wireless connection. I have an Airport Extreme(n) and all the Macs connect fine. A friend brought over his HP Notebook with XP and it connects fine to the network. The iMac with XP finds and connects to the network, but gives a warning "Limited or no connectivity." I don't think that it's properly assigning the IP address to the machine.
I'm using WEP security but I still have the same problem if I turn the security off. When I open Wireless Connection Network Properties in XP, it shows that the machine is using a Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter. Is that correct? All of the Leopard and Windows updates have been installed on the machine. Any ideas out there??
    Thanks in advance!
    David

    If anyone is having this same problem, go here;

The issue affects XP with an "n" wireless router running WEP or WAP2 security. I followed the instructions and problem solved!

  • Has anyone had the "equals" key in the numeric pad stop working since installing the Boot Camp 3.3 update

Has anyone had the "equals" key in the numeric pad stop working since installing the Boot Camp 3.3 update?

I have been an ardent user of aperture for years now and got used to the great workflow. Ever since version 1 I have been enjoying working with aperture. It is the workflow that kept me from changing.
I got a new MacPro 12 GB ram, 4TB HDD my library mostly indexed files sits on a raided 2TB for maximum of comfort. I did this in an effort to keep me from writing the posts I writing lately. I do not have the time rally to do this but reality is something different.
Today I am working on a job I need to finish quickly and in aperture workflow manner. So I switched to full screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen mode and after pressing 'H' for the HUD my screen started flickering. please look at the video I posted in my flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mawas/4719742585/
Now this is the second time this happened in a short time after I got a new mac and upgraded to 10.6.4! After the screen had jammed up : http://gallery.me.com/masuwa/100103 I needed to hard boot my mac I am getting nervous!

  • APPLE mouse & keyboard not working with Windows (Bootcamp)

I installed Leopard and Windows XP on my Mac Pro. The installation went very smoothly. Only problem I have is that my Apple wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on Windows (frozen) although they work fine on Leopard. I tried a Logitech wireless trackball and it works fine on both Windows and Leopard. Any suggestion?

Thanks. I upgraded from Tiger and downloaded Bootcamp from Leopard Installation disc ( I did not have a beta version ). I then installed Windows XP SP2 ( brand new, just bought for that purpose ). Wonder if Mac wireless keyboard and mouse are compatible with Window. Everything else work beyond my expectation.

  • Macbook Air internal keyboard not working with windows 7

    Hello,
I have a macbook air 1.6ghz (1st gen) . I just installed windows 7 32bit on it and got the latest bootcamp. Everything else works perfect except the keyboard. Anyone have any drivers I could try ? I tried the external ones but I do not have an external keyboard so its not much use. Anyone have the internal driver for it ?
*i have tried bootcamp 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2* The keyboard works perfectly on the mac side. I truly believe this is a driver issue because on the device manage under keyboards it has the driver listed as HID and under HID devices one of the keyboard drivers has a yellow exclamation mark.
I have also tried extracting the driver from the Apple drivers folder and running it that way.
    Thanks,

  • I can not use my mouse or keyboard when I am trying to install windows via boot camp

    Please can you help!
I can not use my mouse or keyboard when I am trying to install windows via boot camp

Starting a couple of days ago my mouse and keyboard stopped working suddenly.
How are they connected?   In my case they are wireless and their receiver is plugged into my USB hub.  After an update I found the OS inexplicably not recognizing my USB hub and hence any devices which were plugged into it.  My fix was to
plug the receiver into a different USB port (so I could use the mouse and keyboard; otherwise I would have had to use the OSK via Touch or pen.)  Once I had normal access into my machine again I used Device Manager to remove all USB controller and
hubs (including hidden ones) and I then shut down, disconnected all USB devices and powered back up, this time using only Touch to get going.  Once the OS had settled down I started plugging stuff back in the way that I wanted it to be recognized.
If I didn't have Touch I would have had to have left the wireless receiver plugged in both places which I assume would be OK.  I have no idea why updates have such a catastrophic effect for USB devices.

  • Simple question.  Will my Magic Mouse work in Windows 8 Boot Camp 5.1 (Mavericks)

I think my question says it all.  My magic mouse is not working and will not pair with my Windows 8 Boot Camp install done from the Mavericks Boot Camp setup.  Should it work?  Does it not work?  Thanks.

you don't mention what mac you have because I suspect that the bluetooth driver for windows only support 1 input at the time over bluetooth
my magic trackpad works fine with bluetooth but my bluetooth mice require being run as usb device it can't connect using bluetooth at all

  • Non-responsive keyboard/trackpad in W7 install via Boot Camp

I have a brand new MacBook Air, upgraded to Maverics, and trying to install Windows 7 64 bit.
I have made a usb stick via an iso image from DigitalRiver, through Boot Camp, and started the installation via bootcamp. I also installed the rEFIt drivers, so i got the nice boot menu.
When I boot into the installation, i cant do anything. My trackpad and keyboard is non-responsive (I can't even get the caps lock to light up).
    I've tried to:
*boot into W7 safe mode, pressing F8 while booting, but it doesn't help.
*"run unsigned drivers", from the same menu
*Removing setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder on the disk. Also with no avail.
I have seen that people have been struggling with keyboard and trackpads in W7 over Boot camp, but I cant even install it...
    Please help
    Edit:
Only key responding is the shutdown key.
I don't have any external mice or keyboards.

    SOLVED
I just did it all over again, and it worked. Removed the partition and installed from boot camp again.

  • Numerical keyboard not working yosemite

    Hey All,
I bought my iMac last year, and I also bought an Apple numerical keyboard at the same time. I was not happy with the one the computer came with. When I updated to Yosemite, my Numerical keyboard no longer works unless I plug it into my 2010 Toshiba laptop.
         This is a Problem.
Does anyone know how to fix this permanently?
         Thanks,
         Jennifer

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Why is my wired keyboard not working?

    Hi All,
Most of the time if I plug my wired keyboard (standard Apple w/numpad) before I start it up it works OK, however if it is unplugged whilst it is on, then plugged back in again it won't be recognised. Other non wired keyboards are fine. Even if I shut-down the MacBook Air ('13), plug the keybaord back in, then start up, it does not work. What's weird is that it normallys resets itself by the next working day (I only use the keyboard at work, take my Mac home).
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I miss having the two extra USB's!
    Cheers,
    Nathan

    Good Morning SwimmingNathan,
If you are having issues with your wired keyboard, try a different USB port.  Then try resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) and PRAM.  Here's how:

    About NVRAM and PRAM

If you tried all of these steps and your issue persists, contact Apple technical support or take your keyboard to the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).
