Why is my ny times home page suddenly being sized way down every time I go to it?

Self explanatory. It just started happening when Gmail just changed its format (only one of the reasons I HATE Gmail.)

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

Window sizes and positions are stored in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder].
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf
(caution: do not delete the localstore.rdf file in the Firefox program installation folder)
    Note:
Deleting the file [http://kb.mozillazine.org/localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] will reset the customizations of the toolbars to the defaults.
You can rename ''localstore.rdf'' to '''localstore.rdf.sav''' to test if that solves it.
Then you can restore the customization by copying ''localstore.rdf.sav'' to ''localstore.rdf'' if it didn't work.

  • What is open dns, and why is it blocking my home page?

I don't know what "open dns" is, but when I try and open my home page, a news site, I get a message that says "This domain has been blocked by your network administrator." This is my own computer, and I didn't block anything. It just started doing this today and goes to http://block.opendns.com/ when I try to open a window. I can still access other sites. I flushed the cache, which didn't change anything.

    Hello g:
I clicked on that link and got a message that access was blocked by my network administrator. Since I do not have a network administrator, something is bogus.
    Open DNS is explained here:
    http://www.opendns.com/start/
I used to use it, but have not found it necessary in my own world.
Somehow something has changed your settings.
I have not used it, but some people have had success with this software:

  • Why did firefox change yahoo home page. Now different from IE

For some reason the Yahoo home page which I always use has been changed on Firefox. On IE it is the good old home page that I not only like but was used to. I prefer Firefox as my browser but would like the regular Yahoo home page back. Any ideas?

I have the same problem too. I had the same problem about two months ago and someone on here told me what to do. Unfortunately I did not write it down so i don't remember. I've tried, tools-options - advance - general - unchecked use hardware acceleration when available...it did not work. Yahoo main page looks perfect on IE, on Firefox it's a mess. Someone please help.

  • What is ness plus and why did it become my home page?

I'm not sure where this page came from. I can't establish any other page as my home page. I tried uninstalling firefox & reinstalling it but ness is back.

I don't have homebooklinks in my add-on list, however this is what i found
    #Go to about:config
    # search for extensions.homebooklinks
    # Double click on all the values that have nessplus and leave those fields blank
NOTE: This is a very dirty quick fix. Im still figuring out how homebooklinks got into my system.

  • I can't restore a previous session (it instead recovers the session before) of my Tabs and my home page keeps being reset to firefox

    Hi,
Over the last few days (since i updated to the newest version of firefox) i've been having problems. I usually keep open quite a few tabs that are invaluable to me that I need, they contain vital information i've been needing for research and I can't afford to keep losing them!. I'm used to exiting firefox when i turn off my computer and them saving for my next session when I open firefox back up. For some reason now, if i turn off my computer, when i turn on again and go into firefox to restore my previous session. it will restore the session prior to my previous session but not my previous session.
My default setting was to resume the Firefox session from where it was when I last exited Firefox that I set. The settings are all the same as they was before I updated firefox and I had this problem, so it is set to remember my history. I'm really not that tech savvy so i really don't know if it was teh update that caused it but it seems around the same time. Also, every single time. it sets my home page to firefox (it is usually google)) it will only remain google if i change it back and remain for the day until i restart my computer.
I'd be most grateful to any hint that might solve this problem. Thank you for your attention. I really appreciate the input! thanks everyone in advance!
    Details:
I have windows 7 64 bit home premium
    Latest version of firefox

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Multiple_profile_files_created
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

when I receive a email and I click on a link to open it in my I receive one window with the Google start page and another goes to the link that I clicked on. Is there a way to fix this so it only goes to the link that I click on instead of opening 2 windows

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Why won't my Bank home pages load in mozilla

It's been 2 weeks since I downloaded mozilla. I have to go back to internet explorer to go to my bank sites. One won't load at all and the other one disconnects from the internet.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Why doesn't the "Contact Us" page actually provide a way to contact Mozilla?

    I'm serious here.
    What's with that?
How can someone include a "Contact Us" page that DOESN'T HELP ANYONE TO CONTACT THEM?
It's a "Don't contact us, talk to our experienced users instead of the company who made the product you want support for" link. There is no contact with the relevant "us" for it to count.

The "feedback" link is exactly what SHOULD be in the "Contact Us" page. Thank you, jscher2000, for providing the link. I've tried to find it myself multiple times, and while I've found references to its existence, this is the first time I've been able to get an actual LINK to the page.
That includes when I've checked the "Contact Us" option on Mozilla's homepage.
And you're right, James, most open source projects don't have a way to directly contact the creators. Most open source projects also don't have their own highly-active user community like Mozilla do. They don't have the scale of use that Firefox sees. And more importantly, most open source companies don't have a "Contact Us" page that leads you to literally everything EXCEPT ways to contact them.

  • Why does my computer (Mac OS X 10.6.8) shuts down every time I open Lightroom 4.2 ?

Thought the computer had a problem, had it checked, spent 250usd on some spare part, which probally didn't need to have been changed. I'm very disappointed with Lightroom.

I dunno the extent to which your computer was "checked" (it needs more than ventilator inspection...).
At a minimum, run a thorough:
    * disk check
    * ram check
Have you ever had Lightroom running well on this (or any other) machine?
PS - There are a lot of people in this forum who are willing to help, but you gotta hold up your end of the deal:
    * Try things, *and* report results (screen-shots or video can be worth thousands of words).
    * Answer all questions fully (e.g. "into a freshly created catalog?")
Warning: I may bow out at any time and let somebody else take a crack, or not... so, hope you don't think it rude - you have been "notified"...
Also - have you tried Adobe Technical Support? - don't expect the Lr engineers on the other end of the line, but they have a wealth of resources to draw from, and they are well-trained to get installation and basic functionality working...
    Good luck,
    Rob
