Why is my Officejet 8600 showing as not connected in eprint? printer shows connected

The printer shows e-mail address correctly. It shows connected. All web services are turned on. Why is it still showing as not connected on eprint.com?

Try a power cycle on the printer. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer for 20 seconds while the printer is still powered on. While the power is draining from the printer log out of your ePrintCenter account. Once the printer is back at the home screen, log into your ePrintCenter account. Your printer should now show connected and ready. If not, please let me know. I hope this helps.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

If you are using a USB hub, don't. Connect directly to the computer. Disconnect all other USB devices except for keyboard and mouse.

Hi,
Have you tried WEP or WPA, I know few printers do not support WPA2. Manual for the 8600 printer does not say anything about WPA2 and we expect it should work with WPA2 but you may want to run a test with WPA only (if your wireless router had this ontion) to confirm this.

OfficeJet 8600 Pro no longer connects to network

I've been using my OfficeJet Pro 8600 on a local network, with a wireless connection to a router. Now the printer will not connect to the router.
I can ping the printer from the router, so the wireless hardware is working. I can print when connected with a USB cable, and scan to a USB memory stick, so the print/scan hardware is working.
WiFi Protected setup does not work. When prompted I press the router's button for 3 seconds, the printer sees that because I get a "Connecting to the Network" roundy-roundy, but it times out instead of completing the connection.
The WiFi Connection Wizard does not work. The scan for available networks finds my network, but when I enter the password, I get a "Trying to Connect to the Network" roundy-roundy, followed by a message "Invalid wireless password (WPA) entered."
The printed report assures me that wireless is on and working, but that the WPA passphrase I entered in the printer does not match the wireless router setting. This is false--it's the same password my computer uses and the computer has no problem connecting. I've changed the passphrase on the router (and the computer) and tried the new passphrase on the printer, but that doesn't work either.
Is there a way to clear the printer memory and restore factory defaults that may help?

Temporarily remove the password and all security off the router. Save settings. Now try to connect the printer to your unsecured SSID with no password. Are you successful? If yes, go back and add WPA2-AES encryption with your password and try to connect again. Do not use WPS.

HP Officejet 8500A Plus will not connect to router.

A couple month ago I had this printer up and running on my network fine. I use a Cradlepoint MBR1200B router with a Verizon wireless aircard. We took the printer out of the office while we were remodeling, we went to go back and hook it up after the remodel was complete. Now it will not connect back to our router. It's weird the printer will connect fine to my other verizon hotspot, but not the cradlepoint router with usb modem. We have an Officejet 6500 upstairs that is connected to the cradlepoint and is working great.
I have tried what seems like everything from resetting the network setttings on the printer to default and tweaking the security on the cradlepoint from WPA2 to WPA/WPA2. Still nothing.
Also when I choose to print a test report after getting the error on the printer it prints out a sheet that says.
"More that one access poiint/wireless rougter has been foun that mathes your wireless network name (SSID). IF this is not inteded, your HP printer may connect to the wrong wireless network. If you cahne your network name you will need to configure the SSID on all wireless devices to match you new newwork SSID."
The only wireless network we have in the house is the cradlepoint router???? We have the hotspot too, but that is not even turned on. Even so the SSID's for them are not even remoteley similar.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Officejet 8600 is there an easy way to print in color occasionally?

I have an HP Officejet 8600 connected by cable to an un-networked desktop running Windows 7 Pro. I have the default set to "Print in Gray Scale" with "Black Ink Only". I would like an easy way to occasionally print in color without the multi-step hassle of going through advanced options that also change the default parameters each time. Is there a way to install a second driver for the same printer? That way I could name one "HP 8600 Black Ink" and one "HP 8600 Color" with different default settings. That would be a much easier way to occasionally print in color. My previous HP printer had the capability to select custom "Presets" from a drop-down menu, but that seems to be missing from the 8600 software.

I understand you are looking for an easier way to occasionally print in color with your Officejet 8600. I would like to share my suggestions that may help you with your concern.
First of all, you can have two drivers installed on your computer, one USB and one wireless, and have the driver settings different (wireless driver to print black only and the USB driver to print in color).
The other option for you to try is to have your "black ink only" setting selected in the print driver itself (seems like you have it set this way currently) so all jobs will automatically print in black ink only. When say you are printing a document in color, change the print settings in the program you are printing from to print in color for that single job, that way the default settings in the printer driver are still set to print in black and only that one job will print in color.

Officejet Pro 8100 will not connect wirelessly to my main PC

Was able to connect the printer to the wireless network and will print for a wireless laptop but am not able to select this printer by my main PC. When asking it to add a new printer it finds the 8100 but freezes at that point and will not connect. I have reloaded the driver software but the software also freezes when trying to locate the printer.

Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand the software keeps freezing when "Locating the Printer".
What is your operating system on this computer? Windows or Mac?
Try installing this software over a USB connection. Please follow this HP document on Installing Printers Software over a USB Connection. Choose your correct operating system.
This will be a test, to verify if the software is able to successfully install without freezing. (Make sure you leave the USB cord out of the computer until it prompts you to connect.)
If you get this software installed on your computer, then try Convert from a USB connected printer to wireless.

I just downloaded find my iphone. Why does it keep saying I am not connected to the internet when I know i am?

I am trying to get my "Find my Iphone" app to work and after I sign in with my apple id and password, it keeps telling me Im not connected to the internet. I click "try again" and it does nothing. I double checked that I am connected to my local wi-fi and not sure what else to do. Help!!
