Why is my personal music downloading to my work computer?

I recently started a new job with a Mac running 10.7.5. I logged into my Apple account to listen to iTunes Radio and install apps. I did not authorize the computer to access my personal music files, but they are downloading to my work computer (presumably from iCloud?).
I tried to deauthorize the work Mac, but it says it is not authorized. I'm not comfortable having my personal music library on my work computer at this point. How do I make it stop downloading my music and delete the songs it's already downloaded?

Might be the Wi-Fi...
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Then restart the iPod.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Now try downloading an app.

why wont my purchased music download from macbook to ipad? What checks should I make?

Make sure that you are signed into the correct ID in Setting>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. If you use iTunes Match, you have to disable it on the iPad before you can sync your music.

  • Why are my new music downloads going to icloud?

Why are my new music downloads going to icloud? I never set it up and dont use it. I just recently purchased a few songs and when I hooked up to the computer is says I have to download them AGAIN to my computer from icloud. Why did this happen? My husband and I share a computer and both have our own id. I couldnt figure out why iTunes was telling me to do this and found out my husbands id was in my iPod.

On your phone, how many of your contacts are in the On My Phone group, or any other group that is not iCloud, and how many are in the iCloud group (382?)
Why are my contacts not backing up to iCloud?
Not the same thing, don't confuse a backup of your phone with an iCloud data account. Backup is a separate function.

I have  anew computer and my ipod was attached to the old one, how can i have my music download to the new computer and sincronize it.

If you no longer have the old computer this will be very helpful and If you have other content - apps, books, movies, that you want to transfer to the iTunes library - you need to transfer your purchases from the iPod to the computer as well.
    Take a look.

This works the same way whether you have a Mac or a PC.

  • Why won't the music player quick link work on ios7

I have installed ios7 and now the quick link music player will not work! Any ideas as I cannot play music in the car without going into the full music player! Also my in car controls have stopped working the player? Very annoying worked fine on ios6

Unfortunately, I think that is probably your only option. the "!" is stating that the link between the music and the visual title on your iPod is broken and the iPod doesn't know where it is. Did you have auto-updating on for your music when you plugged it into your friends computer? And how did you remove it from the computer? If the iPod was still updating when you removed it, that could have caused it.

  • Why doesn't the music, but audio is works fine, in iMovie'11?

I recently opened up a project I was working on in iMovie '11. The music I had recently added wasn't working because it said it couldn't locate the original file.
I reloaded the music and started adding it to the project, deleting the music that wasn't working as I went along. The new music worked for a couple of minutes, but now it isn't working at all. Nothing plays, whether in the playback mode or through scrolling. But when I scroll over the dialogue in the project, that is working...
Any one know how I can fix this?

    Hi
You are using a Non Destructive Video Editor - and to get this to work as it should - non of the raw-material can be moved at all.
So if You are using material on external hard disks or USB-memories or Audio-CDs they all need to be there when working on the project.
There is no Movie in Your project (no copies) but just a small text document pointing to Your raw-material and how it is to be played to be the Movie You are working on.
I do a folder on my Mac where I put all extras Audio and photo files so they are in a specific location at 100% (no alias). Audio as .aiff 16-bit 48kHz (no .mp3, wma etc - but all converted to .aiff and photos as .jpg)
From here I get it into my movie project - just to be sure that all is there if external hard disks, Audio-Cds etc are not connected.
Audio from iTune is a chapter on it's own. I collect all needed audio into a new PlayList then BURN it out as an Audio-CD (.aiff not .mp3) then I use the files on this one.

  • I want to download my ipod nano on my home computer. It has been previously been downloaded on my work computer. Can this be done?

I had my library on my old work computer, that is no longer available. I want to download my library to my home computer. Can I simply hook my 3rd gen. Nano up to my home computer and download my library? Thank you in advance for your help!! Rick T

I guess that would be where my problem lies. I do not have a back-up copy anywhere, the only thing I have is my Nano. Am I screwed?
As I explained in the first response, you can transfer itunes purchases from the ipod to your computer.
You may be able to buy software that will allow you to get the other music, but this is not supported by Apple.
It is very important to always maintain a backup copy of computer (files/docs/pics/music/contact/calendars/etc).
    Hope all goes well.

  • Downloading Mavericks on work computer.  Whose Apple ID should I use?  May I create a new one?

I'd like to download Mavericks on my work computer. Whose Apple ID should I use?  If I use mine, will I still be able to download Mavericks on my personal laptop?  I work for a small home business, and my boss & coworker have both downloaded on their computers using their Apple IDs.
Should I create a new Apple ID with my work email address and use that one to download the new OS?  What do you recommend?
    Thanks so much!

Updates for third-party applications you purchase from the App Store will only be available for download using the Apple ID you purchased the applications with (ie, you will be requested to log in to get the updates); however, the core OS running on your computer is not tied to your account, and updates for it will be available even if you are not signed into the App Store with an Apple ID. When you purchase the OS, the installer will act like any App Store purchase and have a receipt that is associated with your account, but once run, the installed OS files will not contain any embedded account information.
Overall this difference is trivial, especially given that Mavericks is free; however, it ultimately outlines that for the OS upgrade, it does not matter what account you use (at least, for running the system once the installer has been downloaded and run). This is not the case with third-party apps though, where updates ARE tied to Apple IDs that have purchased them.

  • HT201272 How do I authorize my computer to re-download a song I downloaded on a work computer?

I downloaded a song on a work computer about 2 months ago to try out the "download on different products" feature.  I came home and keep trying to redownload it, but it just says you need to authorize this computer first.  I no longer have access to that old work computer so is there anyway to authorize my home computer form home?  It won't even let me re-purchase the song...

  • Why won't my music download on my ipad mini?

Can anyone tell my why I can't download my iTunes music to my ipad mini?

You should provide more exact symptoms.  What are you trying?  What is or is not happening?
With the miniscule information you have supplied, the causes could range from no WiFi connection to an Apple ID mismatch being used in syncing.  Those are just two possibilities that quickly come to mind.

  • Why cant i sync music from more then one computer without having to erase the music already on my ipod??

I have music on my ipod and i want to add more music from a diffrent computer but everytime i try it tells me i have to erase all the music already on my ipod. ihave tried to do multiple things and it does not seem to work.

Yes, you can use the one that's not broken. It just doesn't have the same stuff as your iPod. So when you sync the content will be erased. If you have a backup, then you can save your iPod content. Anyway, those songs, apps and books you purchased from iTunes can be re-download free of charge.

  • Can I have one Apple ID for personal (music) and one for work (syncing contacts and mail)  on the save device

Between my husband and I we have 6 devices and we are only allowed to share our Apple ID across 5.  Some of the devices are for music and outlook and some are just for music - can I have a separate Apple ID for my mail and contacts.  ie. Can you use two different Apple ID's on the same device?

Oh maybe ipads and iphones aren't counted in the five

  • Why isn't Mountain Lion downloading to my second computer from my purchases list?

Hi, i'm having trouble downloading Mountain Lion to my laptop, I bought it from the app store downloaded it to my Imac and everything went fine. Now I'm trying to download it from my purchases to my MacBook Pro and it says the following:
We could not complete your purchase.
The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.
I don't get it, please help!
tip: Could it be because i recently signed in with another apple id in this computer??

    Thanks for the reply.
I found this worked for me..

Re: Corrupt Mountain Lion File @ App Store?
Jul 26, 2012 1:32 AM    (in response to NoPCZone)
What worked for me - no restart required - after reading all these posts...
    1. Disable Virusbarrier X6 (Launch X6, go to preferences > advanced tab, and switch the big slider to 'off'.
    2. Launch the Console.app (in Applications > Utilities)
    3. Once Console launches, go to View > Clear display (this clears the screen, gets rid of the clutter)
    4. Launch the App Store, and try to buy Mountain Lion - you'll get the error message as before.
    5. Quit the App Store.
    6. Go back to Console - and open the folders of information displayed in the viewer window.
    7. In amongst all the gobbledegook text on screen is a parth to the var/folders/ directory. The folder you are looking for will have a name like d3 or zz (it differs on each machine).
    8. Once you know the name of the problem folder - go to the Finder, and choose 'Go to Folder' (Cmd-Shif-G)
    9. Type in /var/folders in the Go To Folder dialog and click 'Go'
    10. In the window that appears, you should see the folder you're looking for, and maybe 1 or 2 others.
    11. Drag the problematic folder out on to the desktop (you may need to authenticate to do this) and save this folder in a new folder - 'old var file' or whatever.
    12. Select the problematic folder from it's original window, and delete it - Cmd-Delete, and it disappears (but you have the backup copy, just in case. Apparently a new folder will automatically be re-created (by FInder or App Store) - so don't fret too much about removing this folder. And you can always copy your 'backup' back here, if there's a problem.
    13. Re-launch the App Store, and try purchasing Mountain Lion. For me - this now worked!
The above worked on a mid-2009 MacBook Pro. I tried a few other suggestions - e.g. re-installing the 10.7.4 combo update but it didn't make a difference. It certainly looks like VirusBarrier X6 is the culprit.
I am currently downloading Mountain Lion - but I did update X6 beforehand to the latest verison, which is supposedly 'Mountain Lion ready'. Once downloaded and installed, I'll go back to VirusBarrier and switch it back on.
    Good luck folks!

  • Cannot play music through Itunes on work computer

This has worked in the past but for some reason today it isn't working. I have Itunes on my home PC and that is what I sync my Ipod to. I also have it at work just so I can listen to my music through my laptop. When I hook it up to my laptop it flashes the Do not disconnect message forever, doesnt go away. I can eject the Ipod and listen to it fine through the Ipod but I cannot get it to play songs on the laptop. They all show up but are greyed out and I cannot click on them to play. The Ipod shows up in Itunes, says nothing about Updating Ipod like it normally does when it is updating. Any idea how to fix this?

Yep! At the bottom of the iTunes window there's a button with an iPod icon on it. Press it and it'll being you to the iPod preferences window. Select the manual update option and select ok (to the pop-up window and to exit the preferences window). The songs won't be greyed out anymore, just remember to set it back to automatic update when you go home. Hope that helps.
