Why is my purchased music missing from my iTunes account?

I've had the same iTunes account for about 4 years and only my most recent purchases are showing up on my account

Thank you for your reply.
Not all are listed on the computer.  But it was listed on the ipod itune purchased so I tried to download them again and its downloading right now...and didn't re-charge me.
Shouldn't they be listed on my computer also? on itune purchases?

Make sure that you are signed into the correct ID in Setting>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. If you use iTunes Match, you have to disable it on the iPad before you can sync your music.

Get copies of the song files and add them to your iTunes library.

  • Is it possible to transfer music/videos from one itunes account to a separate one?  I need to give my music and videos that I bought a grandchild to her for her ipad.

Is it possible to transfer music/videos from my itunes account to a grandchild (she will need her own account)  I bought her music and videos and let her play with my ipod touch.  Now she has an ipad.

No you cannot transfer purchases from one account to another account. Apple does not allow it and never has allowed it.
She can use you Apple ID on the device and switch between her ID and your ID, but that can cause problems at times and can become a bit of a pain.

  • HT4759 What do I have to do to authourize my computer to let me download my already purchased music into my new itunes account?

I want to download my music from icloud onto my new computer but it says that my computer need to be authorized. What do I do?

    Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs:  iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Our hard drive on our 27in Mac crashed and was replaced. Is there any way to get our music/movies from our iTunes account back?

Our hard drive crashed (it was the one that was recalled) and Apple replaced it. Is there a way to access our iTunes account and get our music/movies back? Or do we have to re-download everything? What about music we purchased?

Perhaps without a lecture level 10, it has long been a basic requirement to backup one's computer. Of course who would have thought one would have to backup something that is downloaded from a premium service like Apple's iTunes with the iCloud.
Much of the media purchased from Apple appears to be redownloadable, except for things that are arbitrarily not (because of licensing or whatever, but these reasons are not apparent to us, the lowly customer).
This is hard to understand until one has a problem, and finds the article listed above, or tries to enter a support ticket and ends up in the forum with someone who has obviously answered too many questions.
So how about we ask that a product manager at Apple consider a novel new feature - provide an online locker for movies purchased with real money through iTunes.
Let's call it iCloud and tell the world about it!

  • Music sharing from one itunes account to another itunes account

My question is I downloaded music from my brother-in-law's itunes account to my iphone, then when I try to sync my iphone to my itunes account it tries to erase the music that was downloaded on my iphone. Is there anyway to download the music to my itunes account? If so please help

Music can only be synced to one computer....if done on one machine then you go to another...it will erase all content (to stop piracy).
Have him give you the physical file and you put it on your machine. Then try to play it in iTunes. It will prompt for his username and password (yes he will have to give it to you). It will then authorize your machine for his account as well (meaning you can play music from him). Note you have a limit of number of machines you can authorize and thus you will loose one authorization by doing this. So if you end up getting more machines in your home and/or other devices...you are short one account number now.

  • How can I transfer purchased music to a new iTunes account for my daughter who now wants to make her own purchases?

Daughter is over 18 and wants to make her own purchases. She has music I no longer need to share with her. Can I give it to her somehow?

purchased music is tied to the iTunes store account (Apple ID) used to purchase the content and cannot be transferred.
however, a single iTunes can be authorized for up to five Apple IDs. so, all your daughter needs to do is authorize her iTunes for your Apple ID along with her own. you can use home sharing or an external HD or burn the tunes to disc to transfer them to her computer/user account on your computer.

  • Why doesn't my music on my laptop iTunes account sync to my iPhone?

I have the iCloud. I have authorized my laptop. Do I need to purchase iMatch to allow the titles I've burned from my own CDs to be added to the iCloud? Prior to getting my iPhone I had been unwilling to use iTunes due to problems between my wife and children's accounts, so I have never purchased any of my files from the iTunes but built my collection on converting my CDs to audio files. Hopefully this is enough info to get things corrected.
    Thank you.

Have you physically connected the device to the computer and told iTunes to sync the content to it?
iCloud does not sync not iTunes purchased content, or any media for that matter, to the device, it simply makes the iTunes purchased media available for streaming from the cloud (unless I am completely misunderstanding iCloud).

  • HT1386 my ipad is not syncing my music correctly from my itunes account via my laptop. The music does not appear, although it shows when you look into summary as grayed out .

I carried out a recent software update and there after that my itunes music would not sync in the normal way. My music only shows on my ipad when connected and in music summary and this is shown as grayed out with a broken circle icon beside any new music which has been inported to my itunes account via my laptop. In the past when i connected my ipad to my laptop to sync it would ask if i wanted to transfer from ipad or not. This does not happen now at it goes straight into sync mode.

    Hi,
This sounds so frustrating. If any processing of sound, e.g. through Logic, through Wiretap, or you might try Garageband (which I assume you have tucked away somewhere), produces the problem, then its hard to blame the software of the individual program. This leaves OSX and/or Coreaudio, or a hardware problem. Sorry if you've already reached this stage. This would mean a reinstall of OSX (or an upgrade, if you're thinking of it), or addressing the hardware issue. I know I had some very bizarre things (and repetitive) happen to me with faulty memory, or memory that just wasn't seated properly in its slot. You could start out by running the hardware test and go from there.
    Good Luck,
    Ray

  • Why I can purchase music only from a local store?

It's like crazy, you want to support your favourite artists, no pirate stuff, but Apple says NO. In our european local store the offer is SO TRIMMED. (Can't be comparted, seriously.) WHY?
Is my money not as good as US citizen's ones? Am I a second category person?
    SMH.

    Calm down.
This is the way the itunes store works.
You can buy from other sellers.  Itunes is not the only music store on earth.
If you want to nbuy from itunes, then you have to abide by their terms of service.  You may buy from whomever you like.
"Is my money not as good as US citizen's ones? Am I a second category person?"
U.S citizens cannot buy from another country's store either.  No different than any other country.

  • All purchased music missing from library on my mac.  can't find most files on my hd either.  help

I switched from a computer to a mac in the fall. ever since some of the music in the library couldn't be played due to the file could not be located error.  upon getting a new iphone a couple of days ago, i now no longer have any music at all in my library, nor are the files anywhere on my hard drive.  do I have to download all previously purchased songs again?  thanks

Time to start fresh anew, since it seems you may have really mucked up the library.
Hold down option key while you click on iTunes. Then chose NEW LIBRARY.
Now... re-download all past music purchases.  Should be good to go.

  • HT1848 why can't I transfer songs from my itunes account to my ipod?

On my computer I have tons of songs on Itunes, how can I transfer those songs to my Ipod? I have already sync my Ipod. I also owe money to itunes, could that be the reason why I can't transfer purchased songs and burned songs from cds to my ipod?

You can transfer itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Why not copy them from your old computer, ro your backup copy of your old computer?
No need for such a gross over reaction.

Why is my purchased music gone from iTunes? When I click on purchased, it's not there.

Did the music disappear after updating? It might still be on your computer then.
