Why is my reminders icon showing "1", but there's nothing in my reminders?
Since the IOS6 upgrade, my reminders icon is showing "1" but there are no reminders set. How do I get this "1" to disappear?
In my case, I found the problem. While clicking on the reminders icon took me to the reminders page which was empty, I found that I could scroll right to see tasks, and for some reason I had a task. Once I deleted it, the (1) went away and it's all OK now.

Last night after checking mail and deleting everything (in, sent & trash) the mail icon still has the red dot with a two in it. Any thoughts?
Did a reset to no avail....Okay... Well I think I solved my own issue. There are two ways to delete messages in the messages app. You can swipe to the left, or you can click edit and delete it that way. The latter of which i didn't try as I thought they were synonymous. Turns out that it actually reset the new messages counter, and it now shows as no unread messages. Anyone having similar issues in the future be sure and delete messages using edit then clicking the red icon to the left of the message.

SMS icon shows messages but there are none

Yesterday after reived some SMS and read and delete some of them, the SMS icon still has the red dot with a'1' in it. Any thoughts?
I reset some time but no results..... any idea?Complete restore you mean? No!
There are 6 options:
- restore settings
- delete content and settings
- restore network settings
- restore keyboard dictionary
- restore home layout
- alerts reset position
Which one you mean?
And then? Can I return to the initial configuration (apps, contacts, cal) ?

iPad- on all Yahoo pages the mail icon with the red number indication shows email. When I tap, it asks me to sign in again. I do. It takes me to yahoo mail but there is nothing. All the folders are emptied. All my mail is either read, trash, or deleted. Also, when I tap on the mail app on iPad home page, gmail is no problem but for yahoo I get error: no password for yahoo. Go to Mail Account Settings and enter password. I'm stuck. Suggestions? Thank you.

Go to your Gmail account in the browser.
Hit the folder icon that brings up the folder selection.
Scroll down to the bottom and select desktop version.
The broswer will refresh and bring up your gmail account as though you were looking on it on the computer.
The go to the upper right corner and select settings.
Then go to forwarding and pop/imap
Go look at pop download
There you'll find 3 numbered lines
Go to 1. Status
And select enable pop for all mail
Then save the settings
Once you have done that you can go back to BlackBerry device settings and sync your mail or wait for it to sync it's self.

When I connect my iphone and open itunes the iphone icon shows up but when I click it nothing happens and the icon disappears. I have uninstalled and re-installed itunes. Turned my computer off, and turned my iphone off. Restarted everything. Synced my iphone and my itunes and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? I am using Windows

I have tried to download bust a marble. the icon shows up but the game won't run.
I have downloaded "bust a marble" from the apple apps; the icon shows up but the game will not load or play.
You should try restarting your iPod by holding the lock button until a "slide to power off" bar appears at the top, slide then trun it back on by holding the lock button until the apple logo appears. If this doesn't work then try to download it on iTunes and then sync it to your iPod.

Since you got a new MBP, does it have Lion or Mountain Lion, and what version of iTunes?
If current it should see the iPhone. If it will not, try attaching in recovery mode, start iTunes, connect the USB end of the cable, then while holding the home button on the iPhone connect the dock connector end of the cable to the iPhone...should put it in recovery mode and iTunes should then see it.
Don't go to restore from backup since you don't have that on this computer. You can backup and update the iOS. -
App Store updates icon shows apps, but updates window is unpopulated
My App Store icon shows me that there are updates available. When I open it & select Updates, the resulting window is empty -- no app updates show up, the update all button doesn't appear, and the swirling circle that shows activity appears only very briefly before disappearing
The update server is down; try this temporary workaround
App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"

My Storage shows 400GB but there is only @ 200GB on it

My Storage shows 401GB but there is only @ 200GB in folders, I think i screwed up trying to sync (I used Migration) my old windows contacts and actually copied the drive onto my Mac but cannot find where, also i don't think i removed apps properly when i got it so the icon is gone but the 'App' is still on the drive. any help, advice or suggestions please.For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install the app in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password.
The application window will open behind other open windows. When you scan a volume, the window will eventually show all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal. -
I have a iPhone 4s that I am trying to syn. when I look at IPhone content it shows music, but there is this symbol A dotted circle and these will not play. Please help as I am frustrated.
Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:

If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

When I dock my Iphone it shows as a device on ITunes but there is nothing there - no managing tools no lists of apps, music anything just the device - any advice? I uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes
I found a solution !!!
The problem is that the font SEGOE UI MAGER (one of the fonts) is not installed.
When you go on this link, you can download the missing font !

download this, open it and go on install !
Then you open your Itunes and your Text is there again. Maybe its a little bit to big but, its there !!!

Trying to download the latest update for Epson printer/scanner but although it starts (up to about 5KB of 26.8MB) it stops without completing. The download list shows it is installed ( 8 times!) but there is nothing in Finder downloads. What can I do to download this update
