Why is my screen flashing

The screen on my imac is flashing to "blue" every few seconds. Is this a video or processor problem?

It's on it's last legs, backup users folders to a external storage drive as soon as possible.

It's a common problem with Windows 8. You need to update your video card driver, from the card maker's site.

It is either resetting or updating. If the device went through the full restart and is working now then you are OK to use it.
If it is still on the apple logo you may have to hold the on/off button and the large Home button in the middle at the same time until the little apple shows and then release both buttons. This will refresh your device.

Why does my screen flash crazy red streaks when i open it up?

Lately every time i open my screen up it has red flashing and it looks like fog all across my screen, red fog and if i flip the screen open more and close it a few times it eventually goes away but the problem seems to be getting progressively worse. Any idea whats going and or suggestions?!

Why does my screen flash green when I start up Firefox? (WinXP, FF7)

When I open a new instance of Firefox 7 (my machine is running Windows XP), before loading my homepage (Google for Firefox), the entire working area of the window (minus the blue windows bar across the top) flashes a bright miami green for just under a second.
Is this normal?

This issue is associated with your graphics driver not being compatible with PS' hardware acceleration. Updating the driver if possible would be advisable, otherwise turn off OpenGL drawing under Preferences --> Performance.

When I open Reader why does screen flash and parts of document are not readable?

When I open a PDF my screen flashes, changes color and then when the document comes up parts of it are blacked out. When I close the document the screen flashes again. I have just downloaded the latest version of Reader.

The slowness may be caused by background processing after the library update. Are you shooting RAW?
Also, where is your iPhoto library stored? In your Pictures folder or on an external drive?

3. Finally when my old folders, books and contents of my old photo gallery appears in the left side of the application I have access to no photo and the program remains as it were unresponsive.
You may need to repair your iPhoto Library.
Run the iPhoto library first aid tools and use the options "Repair permissions" and "Repair database".
To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the options-command keys while double clicking your iPhoto Library.
Then select "Repair Database". Repeat with "Repair Permissions". If this does not help, back up your iPhoto Library and use the option "rebuild".

Screen flashing in Windows 8.1

I've just gotten a refurbished Pavilion 17.3' laptop with Windows 8.1 preinstalled. When I'm in the main window, the screen flashes briefly several times a minute. Except for the momentary blanking, the display is correct. I've also installed kubuntu Linux as a dual boot, and Kubuntu shows no sign of this problem. Since the problem showed up before I installed Kubuntu, I know Kubuntu isn't the cause of it.
I tried downloading and installing a replacement video driver via the HP website, but that didn't make any difference. But it did reveal another puzzle. The webside lists 3 different video drivers, but they all have the same version number, the same date, and the same description (but not the same size). They are found at:

Why are they different? And which is the correct one for my computer?

Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums. If each driver is the same file name and same date but have different file sizes. What you will want to do is to download each one and save it to an external memory device.
Once you have the drivers downloaded boot your system into safe mode.
Windows 8 Safe Mode
Now in safe mode uninstall the driver for your video.
When the driver is removed boot back into windows normally and install the driver.
Try all three drivers. If all have the same issue you will need to do a repair. For that you will need to contact HP phone support.

No harm here. Apple does not frequent this site, but only maintains it for user to user communication, so even a left handed comment directed at Apple gets misconstrued as directed at users. I too would like to see things like simple rotation imbedded within the Photo app, but will not hold my breath waiting for it.
There are certainly more things right with iPad than wrong, so get busy enjoying, and check updates every now and then

Hi - thanks for your comments. It was happening on all of the selection tools however I have solved the problem by changing the 'Advanced Graphics Processor Setting' to 'Basic' in Photoshop CC.

Screen flash disabled but happens anyway

My Mac has started flashing the screen instead of beeping. It's exactly the same effect as you'd get if the Accessibility pref pane's "flash the screen" option was enabled, except that it's not enabled. The checkbox in System Preferences is not checked.
I also verified that the preferences property list file affecting this setting shows it as being off. In ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.universalaccess.plist I see:

In case it makes any difference, the system sound is otherwise normal and not muted. I'm listening to music from iTunes, but getting screen flashes instead of beeps.
This happened a couple of weeks ago, and rebooting the Mac got things back to normal. Why does it keep happening? Is there something I can do to stop it from repeating again? The screen flash is going to give me a seizure.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work.

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the grey Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal.

N95 Day 1: Workday alarm set - worked fine played the selected tune when the alarm went of and the screen flashed.
N95 Day 2: Workday alarm left unchanged - NO sound! screen still flashed.
Profile was the same - out-of-the-box 'General'
Any ideas why I lost sound?
