Why is my screen showing weird colored blocks?

I'm getting an odd display glitch that shows up every once in a while (increasingly frequently) usually after switching to an app or opening a new tab in my browser (Chrome). It goes away as soon as I scroll. This has been happening occasionally for probably a month or so, but in the past few days it's gotten worse. It has only ever showed up in Chrome or in Sublime Text 2, but these are also just the programs I use most frequently. The glitch doesn't really bother me that much, but I'm worried it's indicative of something more serious.

It's hard to tell from the screenshots (mostly because the forums are screwing up and not displaying the full-size copies of the image when I click on them), but are those artifacts restricted to the content area of Chrome windows only? (In other words, they don't overlap into the title bar, toolbars or outside the window?) If so, it's got to be a Chrome issue. Try another browser.
If the problem extends outside Chrome windows, then the issue must be a hardware fault. You will need to contact Apple for service.

To reinstall:
1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities or File menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
7. When finished quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the OS X installation.

Your phone is in recovery mode. You need to connnect your computer to iTunes and restore.

I phone 6 screen shows bright colored line at right long edge

My iphone 6 (space gray, 64 GB) shows some distorted colors (they vary) along the right long edge of the screen (facing it in normal orientation).
Just want to know if this is an unusual problem; it's become more noticeable in the past 3 weeks, especially when info on screen has lighter colored background. Such as iTunes or App store...but not limited to those.
It's not very wide (less than 1/8th inch) but I'm finding it distracting and want to know if it's a problem that can be addressed/fixed or I just need to adjust to it.
It is viewable straight on or moreso if screen held even a bit angled (right side angled back).

No I doubt anyone at Target would be much help. They would likely just send it away and say we'll call you when it's back. As suggested make an appointment at an Apple store and have them take a look at it. Don't forget to backup your data before going in.

Weird Color Block Behind Copy

I feel like an idiot because I can't figure this out. I know this cannot be as tricky as it seems to be.
We've got an index where the letters are in front of blocks of color. The entire line is highlighted. I cannot figure out how to turn the color off, or change the color (short of deleting the swatch and replacing it). Mostly, I can't figure out what setting is making that happen. It appears to be a paragraph formatting effect, but I can't be sure. It's attached to a paragraph style, and when I choose a different paragaph style, the color-behind effect goes away - but I've been through all the options in the style, and none of them say, 'highlight the whole line'. I can't even find a reference to the color being used.
I can just hand-format the copy, but what I really want is to find out where this setting is hiding and why I can't find it.

I checked the paragraph rule. It was set to Rule Above, but it wasn't turned on.
So I checked Rule Below, and it was on. I just didn't see it because I was looking at the settings for Rule Above. I can't believe I missed something that simple.

Why won't Illustrator show pms color accurately?

If I draw a box in illustrator and fill it with pms 180 it's bright orange. When I do the same thing in photoshop it's red (which is much closer to the actual color). I've synched all of my color settings in bridge but that doesn't make any difference. When I copy the image from illustrator and paste it into photoshop it's still orange. And when I save it as a pdf or export it as a jpeg, it's still orange. I can make it look red in illustrator by switching to overprint preview, but that doesn't do my any good. When I send this file to my client. They keep asking why it's orange and not red!!!

Get your color management in sync between apps using bridge >> edit > creative suite color settings.
Make sure both apps are in same color space (cmyk or rgb)

If your mintor is color calibrated, then my screenshto should look close to what it shodul be on your monitor. Will never be perfect, especially with some colors (flourescent, metallic)

Why does my screen show all windows when mouse moves

When moving the mouse my display shifts to showing all open windows. Why is this happening all of a sudden?
Have checked Disk Warrior and restarted, but it keeps doing this!

What should be in each spot??
Whatever you use the most. As an example I'm right handed to I set the button on the right to Seconday Button so I can take advantage of the menus available for going back a page, reloading a page, etc., when right clicking.
I use the left button to switch between Applications.
It's just a matter of what works best for you

Following an OS upgrade to my iPod touch the display of screen and icon colours changed. I have been unable to revert to the earlier colour scheme. Can anyone tell me why and how to change them back?

Display showing weird color scheme

All of sudden the display is showing very faint colors. It seems to me it is showing only thousands of colors instead of millions, eventhough under display preferences millions is selected.

How do you know it is 32,000 colors, and not millions?
Have you looked at Apple menu (the blue Apple logo in the upper left corner)
-> System Preferences -> Appearance -> select highlight color's popup menu on its right and select other, and then checked the Spectrum?

You should try to do a factory reset and see if that helps. It's really the last resort but it often fixes problems.

Opening mov files - weird color patterns + freeze

Hi,
Suddenly when opening mov files, quicktime shows weird colors instead of a video. It also takes a long time to open, and quicktime then hangs. I don't know what I installed that could have caused the problem. I tried reinstalling but that doesn't help.
I use vegas as video editor, and there I can still import quicktime movies without problems.
It used to work before on my xp64pro!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it might be worth checking to see if you can just get away with disabling Direct3D accleration on the PC. it's also probably worth checking your video drivers too.

IPad Air running 8.2 - one of the two cameras shows very weird colors.

This started a couple weeks ago. The outward camera view shows very weird colors. I have looked on line for a solution and found a reference that said the 'live camera filter is stilled turned on' but I don't think live filters exist any more. ive tried everything I can think of. Attached is a screen shot when using the camera.

Try the standard troubleshooting steps in this order:
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

Why can't my pics match color of the screen when printed?

Hi there.... Please help me with my frustation. I am using LR 2.6 and printing on a HP Photosmart B8550 on a MacBook laptop. I can't get the colors on the printer to match the screen. I have tried several profiles in the Color Management section of the Print Module (including Manage by Printer). The prints are all darker and not as vivid as the monitor shows. Although the levels in the histogram are OK, in order to get 'decent' color prints I have to increase the levels distorting the screen image.

Actually it is certainly possible to print correctly with Lightroom. Almost all printers will just work. If they don't, you are either not setting up the driver right with the correct settings for ink density and paper type and/or are not using the correct color profile, or you have a really badly written driver for your printer that does not conform to standards. You can hack your way around the latter if you know what you are doing and get reasonable prints, but a new printer might simply be in order. In its quest for the best print quality and 64-bit compatibility with the latest Apple and MS operating systems, the Lightroom folks had to dump some of the old ways of doing things. The same thing happened with PS CS4. This unfortunately leaves some older and consumer oriented printers at the wayside.
Now all this is excacerbated by some bugs in the printing systems of both Apple's OS and Microsoft's, where printer drivers will often simply refuse to give up color managing prints, resulting in dark weird colors. I doubt this is your problem though as it mostly manifests itself when you are using your own printer profiles for different papers instead of the standard ones.

My screen don't show some colors

I have a weird problem with my colors. I have a mail-box,and new mails have a different color. But this color cant be showing by my screen,,,,it looks like the old mails I have already. When I go to another computer with a LCD screen the color is clear.
I have tried any color profile and I have used colorsync to calibrate that s...! But my screen cant show this color.
what can I do to fix this?

I apologize for confusing the issue. I'll try to be more precise this time. I have 11 images in a folder that I have in "My Computer.' That same folder was at one time imported into LR but i'm really not sure if all ot the images came in with the import. Today I added a couple of images to that folder and decided to iport the folder again into LR so tht I'd have the new images. Before I did the import I noticed in LR that only 8 of the images were there but I figured that when I imported the folder tha remainder of the images would appear. So I do an "Import," I select the folder from the browser and click on "Import All files in Folder," and I get a "Problem With Importing Files" window which lists 8 of the images in the folder; however, the 8 that it lists are some of the images that were previoulsy imported (which makes sense), at least one of the "new" images that I added today (which should not be listed), and at least one other image that has been in the folder and should have come in with the current import. If I click the "Show in Library" button the "Already in Catalog" menu bar is highlighted and it says there are *8 images there. Those are teh same images that were in the catalog to begin with. If I go back and repeat the import but instead of clicking the "Show in Library" button I click the "Import" button the Preview window shows the 3 "missing" images. So I click "Import" (I'm actually going through this process now) i get an "Import Results" window listing the 3 images and it tells me they already exist so I click "Import." I then go back into LR ,open the catalog that they should have been imported into but they are not there.
I appreciate your trying to help me. I hope I made it clear this time.
