Why is my sleep button stuck?
My sleep button all of a sudden stopped working. When I looked at it, it looked like it got stuck. And when I press it, the button won't go down any further. My phone is still covered under warranty. Has this happened to anyone else? Can I fix it myself? How much will it cost to repair?
If it's still covered under warranty, whay worry about fixing it yourself? Take it in and get it replaced. Unless, of course, you dropped it and there is evidence to that effect, which would explain the stuck button.

IPod lock/sleep button stuck down.
The lock / sleep button is broken (stuck down) and my ipod is still under warranty. Will this be covered by warranty?
Yes unless the iPod has been abused, like dropped.

If something is wrong, mechanically with your iphone, such as my sleep button on top will only work if you press it as hard as you possibly can, can your phone get replaced? Or am I going to have to buy another one?
That's a mechanical issue. Call Apple. 800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think in Canada.

My iPod Touvh 4th Generation won't turn on. It will not charge even after I used a few chargers and will not connect to a computer. The Home button is broken and I don't know if the Lock/Sleep button is now broken or stuck as well. I believe there may be a problem with the battery or the backlight. I've had my screen replaced once by some stooges. What should I do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recoverymode use one of these programs.
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
and
RecBoot tip
For MAC or PC
The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPhone 4S on iOS7 is stuck on Apple Logo, and it goes off, then back to Apple Logo again for hours. Pressing home button together with sleep button does not help. Plugging the phone to Mac and restart does not help either. What do I do?
Have not backed up for months, so prefer not to lose the data.
Thank you for your help in advance.Restore iPhone with iTunes on computer. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons. Click the Update or Restore button that iTunes offers.

my iphone suddenly died as well. Holding the sleep button and home button together got it going again. Any ideas why this happened?
No, I don't think anyone here would know.
Mine has done that once or twice. -
Was just wondering why some phones are replaced & others not? Is there a secret hand shake or specific "terms" to use to describe your problem?
Really? Seriously? You expect Apple to support a warranty for years because you plan on using the phone for more than two years. Buy yourself a TV at Best Buy and see how well they will respond after 18 months when the power button does not work.
If the sleep button is not working the phone is NOT in excellent shape. Apple stands behind their products but only during the warranty period. You are outside the warranty period. You will have to pay. Using the TV analogy above how much of a discount do you think Best Buy would give you on a new TV in exchange for your damaged TV.
You seem to be a member of the "ME" generation where you think everything is owed to you. Get over it. Either pay or do without. -
I have an Ipod Nano 6th Generation which I bought in Jan last year. Just recently the Sleep button became stuck in the down position.
Typicallly my warrantly elapsed 12 days before the problem!!! I have checked online and it seems like 100's of people are having the same problem (some experiencing it only 2 weeks from new!) which makes me think that this a serious manufacturing fault with all the 6th generation nanos.
When I buy an Ipod, I expect exceptional quality, but £144 for a years worth of use is not exceptable at all.
Can anybody give me any advice on what I should do next, or who I can send this rant to?
Many ThanksHardware problems should be handled by authorized Apple service people.. Stuff goes defect all the time, even Apple's after they are heavily in use.
If you are within your first year you might be covered with warranty. -
My bookshelf and Facebook icons are stuck in "waiting" apparently updating for more than a week, but I don't remember trying to update them. I tried pressing the home and sleep buttons in as suggested, but problem not fixed

The sleep button on my 4G iPod Touch is stuck? Any other option besides the genius bar?
I have a 4th generation iPod Touch. Everything with my iPod was working well till about a week ago. A week ago I went to use my sleep button and discovered it wasnt working. When I removed my case I discovered the sleep button was stuck pressed into the iPod.
What I was wondering is if I had any other options? Is it my best bet to run to the Genius Bar before my warranty goes out in a few weeks?I resolved my 3194 error by deleting all the references to apple out of the hosts file. I am still having major troubles but I was able to resolve this specific error.

Why after I updated my iPhone 4S to the new software it goes dim on its on? I have to hit the sleep button or go to setting to fix it. This has to be a bug.
Hello 6underwood,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581
If you are experiencing difficulties with the connection between your stereo and device, disconnect the device, and then power cycle the stereo and your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. When the Home screen reappears, reconnect your device. If you cannot power cycle the stereo, turn the car off and then back on to allow the stereo to power off.
Best of luck,
