  • My iPad gets stucked in the last step of the sync with the computer.

When connecting the iPad to the computer the iTunes starts, reconizes my iPad and starts the sync of the iPad.
It syncs the contacts, calendars, pictures, music, etc, but in the last step (7th; "finishing Sync") it stucks and stays for ever without finishing.
I cannot load a previous backup because as soon as I connect the iPad to the computer the Sync process starts and no button is available.
I've tried to load again iTunes to start from the begining but it is still saying the same, that the Sync process is finishing and is blocked there.
    Any help?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Demo,
I've tried what you say but, if I'm doing it right, it doesn't work because after rebooting it goes again to syncing and stucks on the last step.
Nevertheless let me check if I'm doing it right; When you say "Before you restore from the backup, quit iTunes, ...." you mean "Before" or "After" because I don't understand how I could reboot the iPad BEFORE I restore from the Backup if it is already restoring.
Just let me write down the procedure to check that it is the right one:
1- I launch iTunes (iPad not connected) and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices, and I check the box to Prevent the iPad to syncing automatically. I click OK.
    2- I quit itunes.
3- I connect the iPad to the computer.
    4- I launch iTunes.
5- I go to Restore from Backup
6- Restore from Backup is finished
    7- I quit iTunes
8- I disconnect the iPad from the PC
    9- I reboot my PC
10- I reboot my iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons... iPad stars.
11- I connect the iPad to my PC.
    12- I launch iTunes
13- I click on sync button.
If the procedure is right then my problem must be another one because when I do it and it starts syncing again the same problems comes back again and the syncing never stops at the last step.
Thank you anyway for your time and support.
    Best regards,
    Francisco

  • IPad / iTunes sync gets stuck at the last step

Whenever I sync my iPad and iTunes, it doesn't complete the last step and gets stuck on "Waiting for items to copy".
First it was with "Step 7 of 7: Syncing Genius data to iPad", so I deleted all Genius stuff and links to it. Since then it gets stuck with: "Step 6 of 6: Synching Artwork to iPad" and just hangs with it forever.
I am an Apple newbie, the iPad 3 is my first Apple appliance.  What can I do to avoid having to exit syncing by unplugging the iPad? (NB iTunes runs on a PC with Windows 7.)
    Thanks, Joseph

It may be that you have a couple of problem files. I have a similar issue, where some music, that I purchased via iTunes, won't sync on to my iPod.
I'd suggest that you start my turning off as much syncing as you can in iTunes. Use iCloud to transfer your calendars, contacts etc.
Then try syncing some of your music and other media manually. If there are errors, then iTunes should flag them up by saying "Could not copy xxxx because ..."
Personally, I only sync media manually, as I don't always want iTunes to perform a full sync every time I start it up. As my iPad is set to sync wirelessly, it connects to iTunes every time I open it.

  • HT1296 Having difficulty getting music from my old 4S to transfer to my new 5S.  I go through a Sync process and when it gets to the last step of Sync, the blue Audio bar shrinks back to show the few albums that are already on the phone.

I've been trying to get songs from my old 4S to my new 5S.  I am using a computer to accomplish this.  My 5s has a few albums I purchased from iTUnes.  I see all the music I want to transfer to my new phone.  I go through a Sync process and it cycles through the steps but the music will not get to my new phone. I used the Manage my music configuration.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

  • Sync Cancelling at the Last Step after Loading iOS 5

I recently updated my iPhone 3G S to iOS5 but when the phone was restored following the update only about 2/3 of my music had synced with my phone. When I try to sync (via WiFi or cable), the iPhone gets to the last step (Step 6 of 6), begins to sync the music and then sayings cancelling sync when I haven't touched anything. When I look at my phone after attempting to sync it, I can see the songs that have not sync'd on my phone, but they are in a more transparent gray (rather than the typical black lettering) and I am unable to play them.
I have already tried restoring my phone again, the issue has persisted. I am unsure if it is relevant, but I have a 13" MacBook Pro. Thanks!

    Hi Roberto,
Thank you very much for your prompt response the issue seems to be very close to what is described in notes
    ·         1624426
    ·         1664394
Unfortunately We have tried both notes i.e. our Administrator verified that port is 80 and we have tried to use the ‘DNS-hostname:80’ and the problem still occasionally appears (I stress occasional and from specific end user’s PCs).
    Any other ideas?
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind Regards
    Mike

  • When i connect my ipod touch to the computer and it brings up itunes, and it starts syncing, it just stays on the last step(6) and I can't download anything else to my ipod.

I connected my ipod touch to the computer.  When it brings up itunes and start to sync, it stalls at the last step (6).  This keeps me from being able to add other songs from my library to my ipod.  I'm very new at this and maybe just don't understand how it works.

  • I'm trying to synce my iPhone 4s but it isn't completing the last step (step 7).

I'm trying to synce my iPhone 4s but it isn't completing the last step (step 7). It says "waiting for items to copy." The stripped bar just continues to move to the right. Even if I try to cancel it stalls there too. I have to eject the iPhone from the computer to make it stop.

It was telling you that you needed Mac OS 10.6.8 or later, not itunes 10.6.8
Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:

  • HT4623 My iphone 5 seems to be stuck in the horizontal view when I'm in the message mode.  In all other views I can turn the phone 90 degrees and horizontal to vertical works fine.  Not sure what the problem is.

My iphone 5 seems to be stuck in the horizontal view when I'm in the message mode.  In all other views I can turn the phone 90 degrees and horizontal to vertical works fine.  Not sure what the problem is.

    I found a solution!
Perhaps this is just temporary, but I have my display up and working again.
Although the symptoms are different were a bit different, the solution here worked:
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/120259/grey-screen-after-login-blue-scr een-of-death-from-cmdr
As I was able to connect to my HD via an external monitor, in the finder, I went to:
    1. Macintosh HD --> System --> Library --> Extensions
    2. From there I moved all of the files that started with ADM and ATI (19 in total for me) to a folder on my desktop. (You will need to enter your admin password for this)
    3. Next was a restart.
    4. Then my display started working again.
    5. After that, I transferred the files back into my Extensions folder.
    6. I then did another restart with my fingers crossed and breath held. It worked.
Also... During the last few days of trying to find a fix, I restored a Mavericks backup to my computer away from Yosemite.
I'm very sure this problem occurred when I put my MBP to sleep, disconnected the power in its sleep, while something was connected to a USB port and unplugging the USB device (for me an iPhone charger) while the MBP was closed.
I hope this helps the next person.

  • When I sync my ipod touch or iphone 4s the final step in the process never finishes. Anyone know why?  I already unistalled and re-installed itunes.

When I sync my Itouch 5 or Iphone 4s the changes do not apply and the itunes gets stuck in a loop.  Any ideas?  Already re-installed Itunes.

What itunes is asking is would you like to import the files and settings of your ipod to your iphone? It'll import things like contacts, calendar, mail, apps with app data.  If you want your phone set up just like your ipod then use that option.  Otherwise pick "set up as a new device" and it'll allow you to keep the two seperate and you will be able to sync them both to your itunes independently of each other.
