Why is my text jagged/pixelated after rendering?

Hi
I am new to motion and I went through a tutorial and I still can't solve this and I'm sure it's simple
I created some freehand text in motion, exported it and placed it in my FCP time line
When I play it in the FCP time line it's clean but when I render the line, it becomes jagged and pixelated. I thought rendering would not do that. It's clean in Motion when I create it and play it, it's clean on export in the viewer, it's clean when I drop it in the FCP time line, but as soon as I render the project the text becomes jagged
Any help is much appreciated
Thank you
David

  • Everything pixelated after rendering + purple render line

    Hello,
Before I render, all my photos, video and Boris 3D slides look perfect. After I render, everything is pixelated in squares and there's a purple line at the top of my sequence. After I export the sequence as a Quicktime movie, everything is still pixelated in little squares. There are post-rendering screen shots below so you can see what I mean.
I've checked all my settings and everything appears to be correct. Here's what I've done so far:
    - All video footage shot on Canon 5D Mark II at 29.97 and converted to Apple XDCAM EX 1080p30 (35Mb/s VBR) clips
    - All photographs shot with same camera. Kept as JPGs.
    - Sequence settings are:
              Frame size - 1920 x 1080 HDTV1080i 16:9
              Pixel Aspect Ratio - Square
              Unchecked Anamorphic 16:9 box
              Field dominance - None
              Editing timebase - 29.97
              Compressor - XDCAM EX 1080p30 (35Mb/s VBR)
              Quality - 100%
              Audio rate - 48Khz
              Depth - 16 bit
              Config - Channel grouped
In this same project, I have a few sequences of video interviews synced with an external audio source, and those sequences look perfectly fine until I add Boris 3D text or regular text over them.
Does anyone know what's happening and how I can fix this? I've read other forum Q&As and can't find an answer.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello again.
I converted several clips to Pro Res 422 (LT) and changed all my FCP settings to match. I started a new project, opened a new sequence, and when I dragged a newly-converted clip onto the timeline, this message popped up:
For best performance your sequence and external video should be set to the format of the clip you are editing.
Whether I hit yes or no, the footage looks beautiful on the timeline. But as soon as I add text, in both situations (yes, change sequence settings; no, don't change sequence settings) the footage and the text are pixelated, per the images I posted above.
I'm no FCP newbie but now that I think about it, I get this message quite a bit when editing. So where am I going wrong? For this most recent batch of clips, I converted in MPEG streamclip with these settings:
              Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)
              100% Quality
              Sound: Uncompressed, stereo, auto
              Frame rate: Left blank
              Frame size 1920 x 1080 (unscaled)
Nothing checked under "Deselect for progressive movies:"
              Field dominance: Upper field first
              All other fields at presets
Now here are my FCP settings:
    Sequence settings:
              Frame size: 1920 x 1080 (HDTV 1080i 16:9)
              Pixel aspect ratio: Square
              Unchecked box for Anamorphic 16:9
              Field dominance: None
              Editing timebase: 29.97
Compressor: Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)
              Quality: 100%
              Audio: 48Khz, 16-bit, Channel grouped
    Easy Setup & Audio/Video Settings:
              Sequence preset - Apple Pro Res 422 (LT) 1920x1080 30p 48 Khz
              Capture preset - HDV
Where am I going wrong? I'm so confused.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Why is my image more pixelated after changing the DPI?

I am creating a magazine for a university project and I have chosen 2 images to be included in one of my articles. I changed the DPI of both images in PhotoShop to 300 DPI and saved them before placing them into my InDesign document but they appear to be even more pixelated after this than what they were when I placed them straight from the internet. Will they be like this when I print it or does it only look pixelated on my screen? Any help?

What is the effective resolution in InDesign? (look into the link panel.) (BTW resolution of an image is measured in PPI, not in DPI!)
Is the link up to date?
How do you proof it? Did you turn on the high quality display?
What file type are you using?
What is the scaling factor of the image in InDesign?
How did you change the resolution in Photoshop? What was the first resolution, did you change the size of the image?

  • Why does the text look pixelated

I am using Helvetica Neue and when I publish the site the text looks pixelated.

Best practice is to use a Web Font, if possible. If not, use a Web Safe Font and only as a last resort use a System Font (since it will be converted to an image). An image is slower to load in your browser, prevents site viewers from copy/pasting your text content, prevents using the browser's Find feature within the page, and prevents you from being able to apply hyperlinks on ranges of text. Muse does automatically generate "alt tags" for the image, so search engines will still be aware of the original text content.
If a System Font is used, it will only render well if the background of the text frame is 100% opaque. (It has a solid fill color. An 100% opaque gradients. Or it has a 100% opaque fill image.) This is due to the fact smoothing the edges of the type on an LCD display requires knowing the color of the pixels behind the text. If the text frame is transparent then the smoothing will be performed using an inferior approach that is color agnostic to avoid creating color artifacts on the edges of the type. (Note that bringing in a transparent image containing the type from some other source will have the same problem.)

  • Why is my rendered color corrected movie pixelated with jagged edges after rendering?

    Hello All,
I am new short film movie producer and have just started using Adobe Premiere CS6 and Audition CS6.  Comparing my flat footage before adding it to a sequence and color correcting it and rendering it, it looks fair.  But after all these transitions it now looks pixelated along with very jagged edges.  This is my first short film for my first client and I am at my witts ends!  I have tried to copy the sequence and transfer it to a new sequence with differnt settings comparing the pixel aspect ration, fps, trying to match the clips specs and I am so stuck. Can anyone please offer any suggestions or let me know if there are procedures I have overlooked.  Thanks Adobe Community.
    Michael Diaz

Let's back up a step - what camera do you use? If it's an HDV model, then yes you have anamorphic footage. Simply choose an HDV sequence preset to match. If your camera shoots 720p or full 1920x1080, those are square pixel (1.0) formats and are not anamorphic (anamorphic does NOT mean widescreen, it means "stretched to widescreen" basically).
In any case, drag a clip to the New Item button for best results until you get more educated and confident about the different formats you may be working with.
If you copied and pasted the contents of the SD sequence into an HD sequence, all filters and effects you had applied before should remain intact and not need reworking, except possible for titles and things involving scaling (since the size has changed).
As for exporting, you typically will NOT want an anamorphic export, except for widescreen DVD. You will not see anamorphic mentioned though, just choose "MPEG-2 DVD" and an appropriate widescreen preset and Adobe knows what to do from there. For web/computer viewing, best to avoid anamorphic footage, since many players assume 1.0 PAR and do not adjust the image for non-square pixels. So if working with 1440x1080 footage, and exporting to web or YouTube for instance, export as 1920x1080 (1.0) or 1280x720 (720p) so the viewer sees the proper 16:9 output, or the image may be squished otherwise!
    Thanks

  • Images become pixelated after Rendering

    Hi,
I have a rather old version of Premiere Pro. (V 7.0) and I'm trying to put stills in my video but when I do and then render the video, all my images become pixelated. The images started out crisp and clear before rendering. I have been resizing/ repositioning the images but I tried without resizing and the images still become blurred and pixelated. I've tried exporting to see if it was just the viewer but video comes out pixelated as well. I've tried several things:
Images are PNGs. I've tried .Tiff and  .Jpg  and neither made a difference.
Images that are not resized pixelate as well.
    Quality is set to Highest.
    Zoom Level is 100%
Tried setting Pixel Aspect Ratio to Square pixels.
Below is an example of my problem. The images have yet to be resized and are still becoming pixelated.

I'm having same issue.   Premiere Pro has THE WORST customer support.  I waited on hold for over 1 hour and 18 minutes, and when I got connected 10 minutes 'til 9, they said I had called in too late, and that is why my call was transferred to a sales person.    I'm looking to ditch my PP CC and find something with better customer support...let me know if you find something as well.

  • Why does the Video looks Pixelated after Burning DVD

In IDVD when I preview the video it looks great, when I burn the DVD it comes out very very pixelated. I've changed the preferences from Best Performance to Best Quality, and the project properties as well I've done the same. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I'm using 16:4 aspect ratio Video Size is 1280x720
    Help

How are you viewing the DVD you created - on a computer or on a TV?
In IDVD when I preview the video it looks great
The preview uses your original content on your hard drive and is simply designed to allow you to see if the 'flow' (sequences, menus, etc) are what you wanted.
In addition, although iDVD 'supports' HD, it only supports it in the context of current specifications - not the new HD DV world that has two competing HD DVD formats.
This means your 1280x720 content gets downsized and compressed to fit on a 720x480 DVD. The video must be 'expanded' to play on a HD set.
BTW, your aspect ratio is 16:9 and NOT 16:4. 16:4 would REALLY be widescreen! I haven't seen THAT spec yet.

  • Why is some text not shown after merging multiple documents

One of my clients is using Adobe Acrobat XI and they are merging multiple PDF documents (up to 1000 single PDF's!) to create one big PDF document.
But somehow just some parts of the text are not shown after the merging (it is actually still there because you can copy and paste it in to Word and you will see it again)?
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Wunold van Drunen,
Since you have identified the problematic pages, have you checked if the issue occurs with the same pdf when merged with a smaller number may be 10 pdfs.
How are these pdfs created? It might be possible that the said document's pdf structure is incorrect.
You may want to sanitize the said pdf's before combining and check.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • Why is my text jagged?

When I enter text in Photoshop CC for some reason it's jagged. I have gone to save default fonts, I've added fonts to creative cloud. I'm guessing I have to download the latest stand alone PS and use it rather than the PS CC. I had to do that with Dreamweaver to get all the features.

I suspect you have Anti aliasing turned off.  Double click the Type layer, and look in the Options bar to the right of the aa icon.  If set to None, use the drop down and select any of the other options.  Perhaps Smooth would be good for you, but the differences are subtle.

  • Png blurry/pixelated after i used the vanishing point filter and save as a VSP file?

    Hi,
Why are my png blurry/pixelated  after i used the vanishing point filter and save as a VSP file? And i'm using a high res picture. I'm using PS CC.
    I got some screenshots.
This the result of the png
    Thanx in advance

As I posted before, I would use it more if it had some of the functionality I need. I need to be able to change the opacity of the image I'm pasting so I can see EXACTLY where my overlaid image will register with the bottom image. VP seems to require a ton of processing and I wonder if maybe the software is handing off some of this work to the graphics card for calculating. Maybe this would explain that apparently not many people have run into an error that gets embedded in the file. Although my G5 is Apple stock, not super-modified.

  • Why can't I create a document in my Facebook group on my iPad? It won't let me input any text into the text box field after I create a new document. Thanks.

Why can't I create a document in my Facebook group on my iPad. It won't let me input any text into the text box field after I create a new document. Thanks.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV).

  • Why capital letters change in lower after copying them from a PDF document, or otherwise, why some uppercase are in fact lowercase when I look in the Text Property in any PDF Reader.

Why capital letters change in lower after copying them from a PDF document (Made by InDesign), or otherwise, why some uppercase are in fact lowercase when I look in the Text Property in any PDF Reader.

your home page to get into your Web site should be index.html (for Mac) or index.htm  (on PC)
You can name it something other than index, but will be harder to find.  when you create the subjects and link to them, they can can be named anything with the html extension  Or if your using PHP end in .php. There is a Microsoft type asp or aspx but your hosting service has to set up using windows server system.
My hosting service use a Linux server normally but can convert Windows for a Fee.  UNIX Linux has no concept of asp or aspx.

  • PE7 - stop video from running after rendering text titles

    Hi gang,
When I add manual "sub-titles"  aka text titles to my videos, it works best when I render them as I'm going along with the ENTER key.    That's fine but the video then wants to KEEP start playing from the start and that's driving me bananas.  Can I turn this off?
Sorry, if this has been mentioned before.
    cheerio
    Petey

    Hi Hunt,
Indeed, I would never want the video to playback automatically after rendering.
In PE7, it was exactly where you mentioned.
BTW - rearranging menus is part of the neverending game, that drives us all constant upgraders completey bonkers!!!  Just like how AVI export dissappeared and reappeared into SHARE in PE 7.   What a nomad! hehe
    cheerio!

  • After Rendering Video Becomes Pixeled?

I'm using FCE and Live Type. I've never had this issue before. I'm putting a lower-third on a music video I'm making. If I stick the livetype file into FCE it shows 'red' at the top indicating it hasn't rendered. If I move the marker to part of the unrendered clip, it looks fine. If I render off to a full quality video (before it does the preview-render) the full quality clip looks fine.
However, if I let it do a preview render, now inside my working area, the text looks pixelated, and if I do a full quality render the text ends up really nasty.
I deleted my render files and re-rendered the previews and the issue still existed.
    Any thoughts?

Ok, maybe I'm going to reveal a lack of knowledge here, but where do I find the 'project settings'? I know where the clip settings are.
    My Clips are running:
    29.97fps
    720x480
    DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
    My LiveTypes are running:
    29.97fps
    720x486
    LiveType Codec Decompressor
My 'Easy Setup' is set to 'All Formats' 'All Rates' 'DV-NTSC 32kHz FireWire Basic'.
The cameras were recorded at 60i.

  • Why does my text look jagged in Fireworks CS4?

I have had it up to here with fireworks CS4. I can't figure out why my text looks like my dog chewed on it. If Fireworks CS4 has the same text engine as Illustrator than why does my Text in Illustrator look crisp but my text in fireworks looks jagged. I tried using anti-lising but that didn't help. I know there's been a lot of text issues with Fireworks CS4 but I thought the bugs were all fixed by now. Check out the attatchments to see what I'm talking about.

I posted a similar discussion a few months ago and while many were very helpful with their suggestions I have all but given up with using text in Fireworks.
It just isn't worth the bother when other applications can do text with no fuss and no messing with sizes and resolutions. I tend to use illustrator or dare I say it, Paintshop Pro which produces text easily and clearly within a text box or over an image
I'm keeping an eye on your discussion to see if there are any new words of wisdom. Here's hoping.
Sorry I can't offer any advice
