Why is my messages not being delivered?

1. Messages on the iPad can only be sent to other iDevices
2. The receiving party must also be registered with iMessage
Note: The two above conditions must be met.

  • Why isn't a normal text message not being delivered to just one number ?

    Since the IOS update a few weeks ago I've discovered that text messages I've been sending to a T mobile phone haven't been received, whereas they always were before. I've texted from another phone successfully so the problem is not their end. This is not a problem with Imessaging - all the help and advice appears to be with this issue. It's just normal text messaging that isn't getting through. Any advice would be appreciated !

    Have you contacted your carrier, since this is a carrier feature?

Voicemail is disabled but if you call me, you'll hear it ringing at your end but it does nothing my end and freezes in the phone app if I make a call (doesn't ring or connect and doesn't freeze the phone, just the calling part). Texts are not being delivered or coming through delayed. Ringer is on, tone enabled - help!
    I've disabled roaming so it only runs on wifi (this after getting a £4k phone bill...) and I can use Skype, Viber and WhatsApp with no problem at all.

    Hi there - am with Orange and they said nothing wrong with account and service running normally.  They said if they had cut me off I would've received a text (debatable with current message receiving situation!) and when I called out it would say 'calls from this number are barred'.  Also if you called me it would say something similar.  But it doesn't, it will ring and ring until it rings off but nothing happens at all on my handset. Not even a missed call notification.  If I call out, it will display that it is calling the number but that's it.  If I cancel the call it will constantly display 'ending call'.  If I come out of the phone and go to another app then revist phone it will start calling that last dialled number - without ever getting as far as ringing or connecting.

    Check that iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages and that the Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive is correct, along with your phone number and email account(s).

  • Why are my text messages not delivered from Verizon Customers to my new provider?

    I ported two numbers away from Verizon and now Verizon is apparently blocking text messages from Verizon customers to my new provider.
    I can get texts from AT&T, Sprint, TMobile, and anyone else. Unfortunately, I cannot get texts from Verizon customers.
    I have been right next to a friend with a Verizon android who texted to my non-Verizon android, and it never got through. My new provider says that this is not uncommon.
    I have been on with Verizon tech support, and while they are nice enough, they have not been able to fix anything.
    Verizon, please take responsibility to fix this!

        rowdyonez, thanks for helping us support Frustrated_Former_Verizon_Cust with information regarding how to resolve their text messaging issue. Let's make sure that this isn't a memory capacity issue. The first thing that we recommend is to delete all unwanted text messages and power the devices off/on to soft reset. Keep us posted.   • SMS Messages not being delivered

    For the past 4 days now my SMS messages will not deliver. They say sent, but will not deliver, The person that is suppose to get them says they are not being recieved either so what are we supposed to do?     Same problem here,it say the SMS sent,but for the last 50 min.  it's not been delivered yet.I have to mention the money went out from my account for it.I logged out and back in,changed status in hope will get it done somehow,but still nothing.
             Why do we have to pay for a service that doesn't work? It's  supposed to be fast and reliable(none of the abobe).My message is kinda too late now,and I doubt that I'll get my money back.
    And yes..I did put the right number and the country code and so on,it's not the first time I use Skype for this.

  • Calls not coming through, text messages not being sent

    My Note 2 has been acting up the last several days, and since I use this phone as my primary business line. My text messages are hit & miss when sending/receiving, and when clients calls - i pick up, and NOTHING. and when i try to call back - NOTHING.. just silence, not even a ring. What gives?
    Why is my phone doing this? This is frustrating.

    There is two things to try.
    1) hold down the power button and the large center button until the iPhone resets. ( hard reset) if that corrects the problem all is well. http://m.wikihow.com/Hard-Reset-an-iPhone
    2) go into settingshttp://ipod.about.com/od/iphonetroubleshooting/ht/Factory-Reset-Iphone-4.htm which is a total reset of the device. Then it takes you through the set up process again. You will need your apple id  and password. You will also have to click on the phone icon, voicemail and follow the set up prompts. Under settings mail ,cntacts and calendars you then enter your email settings again. You will want to turn on imessage in the settings. Your apps can be reloaded either via iTunes on a computer or from the Apps Store on the device, under purchased, not on this iPhone.
    All this is on the phones manual under Safari. Or online owners manual.

  • International Texting - Messages not being sent.

    I maintain regular contact with somebody overseas, and we have used internatonal texting often on a daily basis for the past few years. Recently, most of my messages have stopped coming through. Yesterday afternoon, I sent five consecutive text messages. The reciever did not get anything until this morning, and it was only one of the five messages I sent. The rest seem to have been lost (I'm ommitting the fact that the message that WAS recieved, was missing the last two characters a minor gripe).
    Knowing this, I re-sent one of the five messages that was lost but 45 minutes later, it still did not come through. I then dialed *228 and updated my roaming capabilities, as it was recommended here. I sent another, fresh, short text message but this one was not received either. 
    I am texting somebody in Poland. This has worked (as far as I know) without a hitch for a long time, and I still receive every message that is sent to me.
    1) I would like to know how to fix this.
    2) I would like to know if I'm being charged for every text message that Verizon fails to send?

    That's strange that it would stop all of a sudden. Did either of you add an app or change anything?
    I would try deleting each other as a contact, then one of you try to send a message to the other using the full 10-digit number. If that is successful, add the contact back from the received message, and then REPLY to that message so the other can add from the received message.
    Something may have happened to corrupt one or both contacts so things are messed up. By deleting (then reboot the phone) and adding back in it may solve the issue.
    it may not, but it's worth a try.

    I have a Dell XPS 420 computer 32 bit.  My Nokia PC Centre is model number 7.18.0 which I downloaded yesterday. My mobile phone is a Nokia 3110. I am using a usb connection to my telephone.
    My computers O/S is Vista Premium.
    I have installed the latest version and everything appears OK other than the fact that when sending a text message it is not saved on the computer or on my mobile phone.  The only way I now it has been sent is when I get a reply from someone.  I have checked my mobile and it is set to save sent text messages.
    Can some kind person advise me what I have to do to correct this.  Otherwise it appears to work OK plus the fact that it is easier for me to use my computer keyboard.

    My text loads almost the whole way, and then tells me it failed to send. My phone can make calls and use the internet but wont let me text or iMessage. I have tried resetting the network settings and the hard reset (holding home and lock buttons at the same time). How do I fix this?

    I assume you have imessage activated in settings/messages and that you have send as sms turned on there also. Text messages are a carrier feature and I would contact your carrier and ask them.
    ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
    Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS. Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages.  If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)).  Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation.  If that does not fix things read the following articles:

  • Text messages not being sent with Google Now or in Car Mode

    When attempting to send a text message by voice using either Google Now or when in Car Mode, the text message gets created correctly to the right person, and the content of the message is correct.  When I confirm to send the message, I always get "Message Not Sent".  I'm able to send text messages manually using the standard Messages app.  Researching this issue, I've seen that there are some others having the same problem but I have not found or heard of a resolution.

  • Text messages not being sent out!

    Hi
    What a weekend!  BB's gone haywire - took to Orange and can't replaced as I'm over the 12 month warranty and my insurance's stopped (stupid Tesco!) Orange suggested I buy another phone eg pay as you go so I did - got Rio but I hate it now due to complicated emails as I rely on my BB to get lots of emails and texts.
    However I switched my contract SIM back to my BB but I can get texts from people BUT I can't send it out!
    Reason why I took to Orange is because I cannot talk on the phone as it shows the headset and another box appeared on the top right hand corner - so it's faulty plus the camera's gone...... what next?  
    Any ideas on how can I send text messages out - I can use the BB Messenger fine but just the text isn't working.  Emails are working fine and so is the internet.
    Really appreciate for any help.
