Why is my updated blog page not uploading?

I am having a problem getting my new entry updated blog page to upload to my website. Is there a step I'm not doing and cannot find an answer in the "help" section or in here. I have done it before with ease. I have my upload ftp info all filled out correctly. I am not using a 3rd party app. Is there something I am to delete before the newer page is uploaded? Can't figure this out.

How do you know it's not uploading?  If iWeb indicates that it has uploaded all files and it's not showing it could be as simple as clearing your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reloading the page.

In trying to transfer iWeb pages (not uploaded) to another computer I went into the Library and transferred the domain onto the desktop. Disaster! On opening iWeb all previous (uploaded) sites have disappeared. On opening the domain all I can recover is the many component parts, and when unzipped the code. Help! Mike

Code in a domain file - really?  That is not possible because the domain.sites file does not contain any html or css code at all - the domain file is your iWeb data file and you won't see any code until you publish your website.
If you can see html code, then you have the wrong file and it is a published version of your site which iWeb can do nothing with - iWeb has no import facility so cannot open any html files.
Go back and ensure that you have the correct domain.sites files that can be found under your User Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites and if you have Mavericks then you need to go to Go and press the alt key to reveal your hidden User Library, so that you can then get to Application Support and then iWeb and then your domain.sites file.
You will also need to go and download either DomainCracker or iWebSwitch which allows you to open individual domain files under Mavericks, because from Lion onwards, you cannot open individual domain files.
Also, it says that you are still using iWeb 08?  If this is so, you'll either need to upgrade to iWeb 09 by going to Amazon and purchasing the iLife 09 or 11 boxed set, both of which contain iWeb 09 or you need to switch to newer software that is actively being supported and developed such as EverWeb (http://www.everwebapp.com).

  • Blog Page Not visible after upload

I just added a blog page to my existing site. The file shows up in remote server but is not visible when I go to my website.  Any suggestions?

Test your site by publishing to a local folder...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWeb/Publish-Website.html
... and launch it in the browser by double clicking the index.html file.
If this version works OK then it means that you have not uploaded all the required files to the server or they are not in the correct place.
Do an Option-Command-A in Safari to see if all the files are present in the Activity window.

  • Adding blog page + First upload - Takes a while! - Then watch it fly!

I just thought that I would share this with everyone
Having been running my site for quite a while now, without too many problems I decided that it was time to add a blog!
I follow this forum and one thing that I have noticed in the past is comments about upload time. But luckily for me this has never really been a problem, I add one page and upload it, and never has it been unreasonable (a couple of times I had to resubmit because it didn't like a picture). But I have never changed the picture, just hit Publish again! So I was really shocked last night when I published my first blog page, two failures due to pictures and on the third attempt it went through, but it did take a loooong time..
Looking at my iDisk, all of the .html files in the top level folder were modified during upload, but I stuck with it.
Today I added a second entry to my blog, and I must say, WOW! Back to the old speed that i love and know!
It seems that the first blog creation takes a while but after this all is back to normal.

    Yes photos in both blogs.
I have two photos the same as you, one large (I should have resized!), one not. When viewing the site you only see the smaller one.
Yes I have RSS, and when I click the button, in safari, I get an RSS feed of my blog and the large images are there as icons, which when clicked load in safari.
I am just off to resize them now, i think 800*600 should be enough.

  • When saving library item, only OPEN pages updating (closed pages not updating)

When I save my library item it only updates the pages that are OPEN and not the ones that are closed. It starts the update process then stops after updating the open pages and never completes the process. I have to click "stop" after a minute or so. Then it prompts me to update the pages again.
How can I get it to update ALL pages associated with the library item?

  • Why are some of my sounds not uploaded?

Ok I'm confused here? I don't have anywhere near the 25,000 song limit but when I look at my collection quite a few of my songs don't have a cloud next to them. These are not even strange ones like Rise Against / Appeal to Reason. I also thought that if the song was not part of Apples collection it would be uploaded? The other reason I noticed this was because when I tried to make a playlist that mixed songs with clouds and without and got a message from iTunes that this playlist will not be available to my cloud devices. Could I get some advice on this please. Thanks!

See if this helps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4054.  It discusses troublshooting songs which are not uploaded/matched (e.g., they can't have DRM purchased outside of the iTunes store, have a bit rate under 96, etc. ... see Additional Information near the bottom of the page).

  • Blog page not showing photo

    Hi,
Quick question I just created a blog entry and the main photo from the blog entry is not coming up on the blog page.
You can see it when you click 'read more'.
    thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
This has happened because you probably deleted the placeholder photo (the one with the stock photo of the skiers or whatever) instead of dropping another photo into it. I did this a couple times in the past, too. I really wish Apple made these placeholder boxes undeletable like the text placeholders.
Anyways, the only solution to your problem is to redo the page from scratch. I mean you can cut and paste stuff, but you need to add a new entry and then make sure to drag the photo that you want displayed INTO the placeholder box. It will replace the stock photo in there and then if you click over to the main page, you will see the summary preview photo there, too.

  • Blog pages not posting correctly... spacing and placement issues... WHY!

So I've just started using iWeb to post photo blogs about my adventures in snowboarding.... The home page turned out great... BUT the individual blog posts are not posting correctly at all.....I add my entries like so....
    text,text,text,text.vffdfdfdsfffvbfss
    then an image here
    more text,text,text,klhkjhkhklhlh
    next image here
    more text,text,text
    another image here
So after I get it all done and post it the text and image placement comes out very different from how I entered it... Sometimes the image is over the text.....
I have to go back and move my images around and add massive amounts of spacing to get it to seem somewhat normal... it's not coming out how I want it... WHY is iWeb doing this....
Here's the URL to my Blog.... http://web.me.com/tylerbrawley/TylerBrawleys_Blog/Splitboarding_the_Wasatch/Entries/2009/3/27_Mill_D%2C_Short_Swing3-27-09.html This published page looks nothing like what it is in iWeb...
Here's the same Blog published to a web site forum... http://splitboard.com/talk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6633
I wish I could get iWeb to publish just like that... Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Corrected pages not uploading to host

I feel like I'm beating my head against a wall; no matter how many times I "put" the files to my hosting service, and I've verified that the files are correct on my computer, when I view them on any browser, many of the pages are not corrected.  It primarily has to do with the menu and the sidebar1; the menu on the index page is formatted correctly with the correct page names in the drop down menu, but on many of the other pages, there is incorrect spacing and many of the page names in the drop-down menu are correct; in the sidebar1 on the index page, the spacing is correct, but on many other pages they don't show up correctly (too close together).  Help!

Well that's wierd........maybe it is working?  I just checked in both IE 8.0 and Safari, and everything looks correct as you say.  Maybe Firefox isn't refreshing properly, even when I reload it?  Last night I even cleared my browsing history........oh......I just realized I didn't clear the cookies, so maybe that's it?

  • IWeb publishes updates but does not upload in the FTP

    HELP!
I have a 'tried-tested-true' website that's been on the internet for 10 years. It's been updated over the years but needed much more as of today.
The updates perfectly publish within iWeb [3.0.4]. The FTP uploads the site, but when I check it on the internet [Safari 6.2.3], the former version appears.
I proceeded to troubleshoot by renaming the website and re-mounting the pages. Also, renaming the pages, but after several attempts of uploading each newer version, all efforts were to no avail. It has taken me a full day without results. That is, the original website remains on the internet, which is very outdated.
I have run out of troubleshooting ideas. All of my other websites have not had this problem. There was an issue this week with the ISP Domain Host services not connecting my site. I contacted them, but have had no response. However, I thought I would try connecting again today in case they sorted out their connectivity issues. I am able to connect to their server. I have good reason to believe the FTP is uploading the updated directory files, but for some reason when it comes to viewing the site on the internet, au contraire.
Not sure if this is an iWeb problem or my ISP domain hosting services having issues with connectivity. Whatever, it is very perplexing to me as to what to do next after the extensive amount of time I have taken troubleshooting.
I repeat myself when I say, 'HELP!'

Okay, I understand what you are referencing. I am publishing my websites to the path of 'Users'-Documents-Website Documents.
Below is a screen shot of the folder my Websites are located. Is this what you are referencing? It is Site 2 that is having issues with uploading to the domain host server of my ISP. All the other sites have been uploaded successively.
I use FileZilla as my FTP server and it has been excellent. I have tried CyberDuck, et al. FZ works perfectly well indicating all that one needs to know while uploading. If my other websites were causing the same issues, then it would mean FTP issues.
However, I believe I am on the same track you are referencing with regards to my published website is in the appropriate location on my HD. I stand to be corrected.
I believe by my contacting the Forum and reading your information that I am following protocol as I have always done with my 4 websites that upload properly. As I continue the discussion, it is becoming evident the issue is with the Domain Host server, which is not a problem to post on this Forum.
However, I posted my issue just in case it was an iWeb issue or my not following protocol correctly to publish a website. From what I am gleaning with your information, I am following protocol. Repeating myself when I say it appears to be the aforementioned server. I have contacted them again about their Domain Host server but no response as yet.
If what I am presenting to you is the correct protocol I have in place at my end, I thank you for taking the time to assist me. By doing so, I believe I will be able to determine it is not an iWeb publishing issue [mostly because all my websites are not experiencing this problem], nor is it the FTP server,FileZilla, but the Domain Host Server.
As mentioned above, here is the folder where my websites are located.
    I so appreciate your assistance.

  • PAGES NOT UPLOADING

I have a new version of iWeb, and since I purchased it, nothing will upload to my websites. I upload by publishing to a folder and then using Fetch. I go through the normal procedures, and everything appears to be fine - no error messages or anything - but the pages or changes never appear on the sites. I have spoken to support specialists at Fetch and godaddy multiple times, and they said I needed to talk to Apple. The hold time is upwards of 15 minutes. If anyone has any experience or advice with this I would be very grateful.
    Jenny

I have spoken to support specialists at Fetch and godaddy multiple times, and they said I needed to talk to Apple.
It is really hard to imagine how Apple can help with problems you are having uploading via ftp to some server. They just have nothing to do with it. So calling them is not going to be very rewarding.
Could you provide your url? Are you totally sure you are uploading your new stuff and not old stuff by mistake? You might try publishing directly to your desktop, so there can be no doubt about where your new pages are and where your ftp program needs to be pointed.

  • Page not uploaded

I am new to web publishing. I have an ftp server access and have checked that it works using the host web creation tool...which is in fact very poor hence the reason for me trying iweb.I check the test connection and all ok I then publish a test page. iweb confirms that it was successful, however when I access the site I just see the message error 404 file not found.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

I have left the Directory/Path option in blank. Should I have entered something?
    It depends on the server.
Sometimes you publish directly to the root of the webserver, then you can leave it empty. Other servers have more folders/directories and then you have to specify which folder.
Common names used are public_html or root
    Check with your webhoster.

  • Is there a way to get rid of grey 'waiting' icons (for app updates) which will not upload nor delete from screen?

i have a 3GS iphone and have 4 apps which will not delete. i tried to update them but when the grey icon marked "waiting" appeared on the screen, the blue bar never filled nor loaded and has sat there for a few weeks without changing. i have tried to delete the icons but once the 'jiggling' starts there is no "x" on it. i can move it around the screen but not get rid of it.
    anybody have any answers? thanks

Sign out of your iTunes Store Account... Then Reset the phone...
You will Not Lose Any Data...
    Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
    Turn the Phone On...
