Why is my video cam NOT working again after it had been sent in to get fixed already

I had my computer sent to get the video cam working... they sent it back and it worked for about 2-3wks and is not working again also when I call someone elses computer I can hear and see them but they can no longer see or hear me. Cant see due to video not working again again on my part but they used to be able to at least hear me.. Now neither works. I have written plenty of messages to HP (at least 3 that I remember) but with no reply. Not a happy camper right now about this. When I bought this computer It had everything I thought I needed and more for my basic use. I chat on facebook Play their game and browse the web.. watch my netflix. I never really needed a video cam but now since family life has changed and I live so far away from them I specifically ordered this computer cuz of its high quality in video plus I liked the fact it played Blue-Ray. I used to have a Dell that lasted me a good 5yrs of usage. I have had this less than 3mnths and twice the cam has gone out on me.

I'm avoiding buying anything else to use my iMac and had the same problem. I have PC headset with mic and headphones and also a Motorola bluetooth headset, neither worked how they should, no mic function:
I can use the pc headphones that I already had (just didn't input the mic jack part), and the iMac built-in mic together as I chat.
Just go to System Preferences and make the Sound settings for Output to built-in Headpones and Input to Internal Microphone -select "Use ambient noise reduction.
Its a get-around, but it works.

Have you tried a battery pull? If the issue is still there, you can either take it to the store or downgrade your software to the previous version to troubleshoot.

Iphone 4 front camera not working even after reboot,resets and restore.

i am using iphone 4 .I have problem that front camera is not working even after reboot,resets and restore with itunes.I thing there is a hardware problem.
Now i wont to go apple store for replace the phone because phone is under warranty period.But problem is that i lost the receipt.Will apple store help me without my receipt ?please help me

Built In Video Camera not working

I used my Video Camera to Skype about 2 days ago. And now I cannot Skype, or use my You Cam. It says things like "Camera not detected." I've updated Skype, and You Cam, and everything else. The white light turns on when I try to use my video camera as well.

here is a link to a video for getting access to the webcam. You are going to have to check the connection cable to make sure it has not come off if it is still connected then you will have to replace the webcam.

ICHAT VIDEO CAM NOT WORKING!!!!!!

i just purchased a mac pro. i use ichat rather then aim. i had a dell my whole life, so macs are fairly new to me.
whenever i request to ichat through video cam with a buddy my screen pops up with my video, but my friend will either see a black screen or it says “friend has denied your request”. i've only been able to have 1 video chat before. but my friend didnt have a web cam, so she only saw me.
it will also say “error...blah blah,....connection“
PLEASE HELP

The Original Poster had it working once which suggests he is doing something different now or has changed a setting.
I started with what I thought might be the most obvious but most easily overlooked.
(particularly with the Black pic bit)
You seem to be saying you have never had iChat working.

Camera not working AGAIN

This is my second Lumia 820 in 3 months. The camera on the first one stopped working after a few days. Now the camera on the second phone stopped working. The ONLY reason I bought this phone was for the camera. It was a lot better than my BB camera but at least that one worked. All I get when I press the camera button on the side or press the camera icon is a black screen. The functions are listed on the bottom but do not work. The touch screen to take a photo does not work. All that works is a back button on the top left that brings me to the camera roll photos. I use my camera on the phone for pictures of clients design ideas. How do I fix the camera? So far I have not been impressed with this phone. Limited apps and a camera that stops working. What is the fix for the camera besides buying a new one?

If its related to Hardware you need to visit your local Nokia Care but before that try a Soft Reset by Pressing Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds).

They say roll back to Adobe Flash version 10.
This solves the video problem, but then, any other services that depend on the latest Flash build, quit working properly.
This situation leaves millions of Firefox users in perpetual frustration. We can't use our browser of choice to view any web video built with Flash.
This is so unacceptable. I am unable to understand why Adobe and Firefox don't get together and iron out whatever code incompatibility is causing this.

Uh... I don't know what planet you posted this from, but Flash video has worked flawlessly with Firefox for hundreds of millions of users here on earth, without any gaps since Firefox was still called Mozilla.

And I've had Firefox with Flash Player since 2003 on both OS formats. I've never had a compatibility problem.
I also use Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari and a few other browsers you probably never heard of (like SeaMonkey, Maxthon, Waterfox, iCab, OmniWeb)... Flash works in all of them.
I'd have to say the problem is with your system specifically, because if it was a Firefox/Flash compatibility problem, there would have been hundreds of millions of complaints about it, for over a decade. That... just isn't the case.

IPhone 4s back camera not working even after buying new iphone 4s

Back when the ios 6 updates were coming out in 2013 my iPhone 4 back camera stopped working, after trying way too many ways to reset the phone and finding others with this same issue I decided to start over I bought a new iPhone 4s so this one was better and 32gb instead of 16gb and it was 9 days later the back camera stopped working on my NEW iphone and still doesn't work to this day? What on earth should I do? How can this be fixed? I've tried hard reset, backing up the new phone, all the tricks I've tried on both phones do not work!!

A new phone has a warranty. So take it to an Apple store. If they can't fix it, they will replace the phone. Or do you mean: it stopped working after 9 days, but then you waited until the warranty ran out and then ask us?

Smb2 of 10.9 is not working again after loosing connection by standby rules or because it was untouched for hours

if the computer went to standby or is untouched for hours the smb connections are dissappeared from finder.. even an open finder windows on an inner directory of such a connection is then empty. I am used to that.
Before 10.9 I could then with cmd + k (go to - Server) reconnect to the smb-Server.
Now this is not working anymore, instead there is a window which is telling me that there is a problem and I should go asking my administrator...
At first I thought the self implementation of smb2 is a good thing - it felt running a bit faster - but in that way it is unusable : I have to restart my Macbook or my Mac Mini to get back a working connection - and I cannot resist to say : such thing is not happening with MS Windows :-(
Is there any trick out there to work around this problem - actually I got to ask: Am I the only one who is experiencing this problem ?

I found the reason the downgrade was not working. It had to do with restrictions of compressed files in the firewall, I allowed compressed files though and it downgraded just fine.
So... as far as I am concerned that fixes the problem for now. Unfortunately it seems that the ndiswrapper business is not getting any better since the last two upgrades broke my wireless (and I'm sure countless others out there).

Ichat video camera not working

I try to video chat with my girlfriend via aol and it used to work but recently it stopped and she cannot see me. The chat will connect and audio works great my video and light are ok but all she can see is a black screen. I've also tried to cam via websites and people cannot see me. I'm thinking it's a software issue? Help please!! Thank you!!

Has she tried to to to the AIM prefernces Ans Enhanced IM and reselecting her camera ?
Is the App allowed through her Windows firewall ?
How did she allow the app through her routing device ?

Why my macbook air camera not working? Neither Photo Booth nor Face time.

I have not been able to use Face Time, Photo Booth and Skype as the camera of my Macbook air is not responding? Any solution guys? Will appreciate the answers from the people who have experienced this problem and have solved it successfully.

I had this same problem, and the way i have resolved it was by doing a back up for the Time Machine. Hadn't done that in 190 days and after I did it my camera work after a sleep for the first time in months.

Why does my imac camera not work with maverick operating system

i updated my software to 10.9.2 yesterday and facetime and photobooth dont recognize my built in camera on my imac

Try these in order:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
     Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
     COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
     after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
     Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
     Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
