Why is my youtube black screen

This is the second time it is happening. Half of the videos on Youtube are not working. The website for the most part is working, but the videos just show a solid black screen and are not plying. What can I do to fix this?

1. Install Adobe Flash Player.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
2 .Are Plug-ins Enabled?
    Enable Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Web Content:
Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
3. Check  whether you are currently  in  YouTube HTML 5 trial.
     http://www.youtube.com/html5
At the bottom  left of the page  uncheck the box for
"You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
4. Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
    Click "Reset".

Sending videos from iphone 4s to pc.  Why do I get black screen but have sound?

Ok I checked and unchecked the playback via camera yesterday and I got black screen both times.
I could delete the imovie prefs when I go over there today.
I'll try another FW cable but it worked perfectly for importing but what the heck I've got one I'll try it.
Yes camera was set to play and not record.
Plenty of free space -- 131 GB.
I'm pretty sure it's in NTSC DV format, but it's someone else's computer so it could have been changed by someone screwin' around not knowing what they're doing making changes.

    Browser: Safari Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10)
This is a problem that just started happening today. All youtube videos I try to watch are nothing but black screens. No buttons. I am also unable to go into the settings window after right clicking the player screen and clicking "Settings". This happens on their site (YouTube) as well as any other site that has a video embedded.
EXCEPT for facebook, I am able to watch videos posted in the news feed as well as go into the flash player settings. But that is the only place I can watch videos.
I have tried many different things to possibly fix this problem; Restarting the computer, re-installing flashplayer, using a different web browser (firefox specifically), clearing cookies, logging in and out of my youtube account, disabling and enabling the hardware excelerator (from going to the settings on the player in facebook, of course) None of which worked.
Also, youtube works fine on my iphone (both on 3g and connected to my wifi) and nobody else I know is having this problem.
I'm kind of at my wits end here, this is driving me nuts! If anybody has any sort of feedback or solutions, it would be much apreciated.
    Thanks.

Do a complete "clean install": http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1343084

  • Adobe Flash 10.2 Issue - YouTube Black Screen of Death!!

My computer runs Windows 7, 64 bit OS, and FireFox.
The problem is that whenever I go to YouTube and try to watch a video, there is just a black screen where the video should be playing. Video and audio do not work.
    Can anyone help?

    I SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!!!
as mentioned another person here, I tried turning off hardware acceleration, reinstalling flash player, using a flash player cleaner executable, using different browsers (IE, Chrome, FF), disabling Windows Firewall, disabling Windows Defender, disabling Avast, scanning for malware, cleaning the registry and browser caches/cookies, restarting the computer (about 10 times now), trying older verisons of flash, NOTHING HAPPEND!!
    THE SOLUTION:
In the internet explorer go to: Tools -> Internet Options -> Advenced -> Reset Internet Explorer Settings.
Yes, clicking that button i could get rid of that damn black screen.
now, i can watch videos in youtube normaly.
Im posting it, because i felt like you and I wasted a lot of hours  trying differents recommendation and those never worked..

  • Why do I get black screen when trying to view a pdf in Safari?

I've re-installed the Adobe plug-in. I know a pdf is downloaded since I can save the black screen then open and actually view the pdf with Preview. So it's there but I can't view it.

The plugin is incompatible. Delete it and relaunch Safari.

I've just downloaded opera mini on my nokia e72 but I still have this problem. In opera I don't even see a black screen there is no video at all???
I think it had something to do with flash player because on other sites where there is supose to be a video or something like that there is a weird adobe flash player icon.
I never had this problem and I already did a software update and also a reset. Nothing works.
    Hope someone has a answer!

as I start win7, screen black... the system is still running because i can hear the sound...and the keyboard is light as well...
    does any body know why?

Do you try booting in Boot Camp or Parallels/VMware? (If you have the backlit keyboard, I assume it is virtual as I don't get backlighting until Windows has been logged in).
I would restart your Mac, hold the alt/option key before you hear the startup sound. From the boot screen choose windows and press and hold F8 immediately. This takes you to the Advanced Boot Options. Here you could try Repair Your Computer or Safe Mode. If either of those work, then use the Windows restore function, found in control panels or from the boot options screen.
If this does not work, try asking the question in the Boot Camp Community. They might know more.

  • Youtube black screen

When I go to search a video on youtube, it seems as if nothing is wrong, I go and attempt to play the video, the screen is black. No blur, fuzz, but the odd thing is, i can pause and play the video if i click where those options are, i have the most updated mozilla, and adobe. The things i am not familiar with, are the modem im working with and that sort of thing, so unless that is necesary, i dont have those resources... /:

This thread was specifically about video playback over Citrix (a commercial remote desktop product).  Are you both running into video problems with Citrix specifically?
If not, please work through all of the following troubleshooting steps, and start a new thread with the results:
    Basic Troubleshooting Info
To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:
    - Operating system
    - Browser
    - Flash Player version - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
The first step is to work through the video troubleshooting guide for your operating system, here:
    - Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
    - Mac - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.htm
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    - Windows - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Windows_users
    - Mac - http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_For_Mac_OS_users
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify this by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the menu.

    - Non-HTML5 video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTl3U6aSd2w

  • Black screen when running MIDlets on a real phone (motorola V330)

    Hello.
I'm developing a simple Java ME application as a part of my senior project in college. Up until this point I've been working with emulators and everything works fine. Yesterday I tried to upload and test my application on my old phone - Motorola V330 (CLDC 1.0 MIDP 2.0).
I can upload and install MIDlets without problems. (Using unlocked application loader and a USB cable). When I try to start them, the screen goes black and stays black. If I hit the "exit" softbutton or the red power button, I can see my application for a split second before the program exits. For example if I try to run a game, I see the game screen for a split second, if I try to run a form, I see that form. That tells me that the application can start, but I dont know why I get a black screen.
I tried that with a bunch of applications, even for a simple form with "hello world" on it, the screen goes black.
I also tried some games from SUN examples and I have the same problem.
Anybody can give me any hints on how to solve the problem? Could this be the phone issue or is it some sort of security certificate issue?
I tried googling the issue and searching these boards but I cant find any concrete solutions.
PS. The phone is old and is no longer connected to the network, but it still has a sim card.

    Yeah, it's CLDC1.0 and MIDP 2.0.
I've looked at the phone again and found out that in "Java settings" menu the "backlight" option was turned off by default. Turning it on allows me to see my java apps. So the problem is solved.
When I had similar problems with my laptop (black screen, barely visible text) it took me a ridiculous amount of time to talk to technicians over the phone and try to explain to them what I'm seeing. Apparently the problem was the same - the backlight on my laptop's display was malfunctioning. I hope this info will help some of you or at least will help you googling stuff if you ever encounter the same problem.

  • Black Screen Problem on my Toshiba Portege M800-A330

I own a Toshiba Portege M800-A330 for more than a year now.  Whenever I have problem on it, uhmm.. for example: virus, or corrupted operating system, all I do is to format my laptop or recover it using system recovery from the hard disk or using recovery disc which is inserted in the DVD drive.  But, recently I'm having a problem with my laptop.  My problem starts after I compressed the Drive C:, but I don't think that may cause the black screen problem that I'm encountering since then.
Here goes my problem: When turning on my laptop, the first thing I can see is the "TOSHIBA" logo and then after it fades it just gives me a black screen.  I don't know why it's just black screen, perhaps its system has been corrupted.  I've tried using the system recovery for the Nth times, but sadly the ability to run the system recovery from the hard disk partition also FAILED and just gives me a black screen again.  When pressing "number 0" it does not direct me to the recovery features of the notebook but instead it only put me on a black screen.  Likewise when I use the recovery disc, it also put me on a black screen upon entering in the DVD drive, and so as when I'm trying to reformat my laptop with Windows7.
I can't even access the safe mode options of my notebook.  All I can access is the CMOS/BIOS setup features of the notebook when pressing F2.
Please help, I don't know what or where the problem maybe and what could be the possible solution on this.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Selene

thanks for your input wkitty.. I have the same problem with this guy who post this > http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Video-Display/Blank-screen-after-BIOS/td-p/79923
I dont know how can i recover the the HD partition with vista installed.. do this mean I really have to send my laptop to Toshiba service center? It will cost a lot of money, my laptop's warranty already expired.
while i understand that the outlooking symptoms may appear the same, you report that you compressed your C drive but the poster in the linked thread does not... sadly, the underlying problem may or may not be the same even though the surface symtoms appear to be so...
unfortunately, i don't know what to recommend and i feel that i must leave further answers to other support members who have better knowledge than i :?
in my own case, i've finally determined that i must purchase the reload disks from toshiba and hope that they are able to restore my machine to the original factory condition... in you case, i can't say that this is the way to go or not... it really sounds like something either BIOS or OS oriented... since the BIOS reset didn't take care of the problem, it may be something deeper (ie: video broked) or something else...
have you tried booting a *nix live CD like ubuntu? the idea here is that if a live CD of another OS boots, then there may be something wrong with your HD...
along those lines, have you tried running memtest86+ and/or a HD testing util for the drive in your unit? it is possible that memory has gone uuck or the HD may have a section of bad sectors...
    =================================================================================================================
I'm a user, just like you but i'm here on a volunteer basis without compensation from toshiba or anyone else... my crystal ball is in the repair shop and i cannot look over your shoulder to see what you are doing. the more specific you are, the better the answers can be

Livestream and wikipedia pages also appear strange
    Dell laptop
Problems started today, no idea what the cause is

Youtube works OK for me on Chrome, Opera, Flock and IE8 but not Firefox. I have tried reloading / updating Flash etc but to no avail.
Usually it will start to play a video and then within a fraction of a second the control bar will disappear and the black screen covers everything and sound and vision are terminated.
The hpps dodge does not work either.

  • HT1657 Why do my movie downloads recently playback with no audio/visual?  I just get a black screen.  It's happened to 3 movies I have downloaded in the past week or two.  I never had this problem before.  Why do I now?

Why do I have download issues all of a sudden:  black scrren, no video, audio, visual, just a black screen.  It's happened 3 times in the past two weeks!  After two downloads, it was still an issue.  At least iTunes gave me a refund, but this is frustrating because I like to download and watch films and tv shows!  Thanks for any helpful feedback.  iTunes reps don't tell me why there is a problem.  They just issue a refund and send me on my way!

I noticd the problem after I downloaded the new update to MacKeeper. I had no issues with the last version of MacKeeper. I don't know if that is the problem or something else.
It is easy enough to try. Drag the MacKeeper.app to the trash. It should pop-up a message asking if you really want to delete. You do. If the problem goes away then MacKeeper was the cause and your problem is solved. You don't need any antivirus or cleanup software. They only cause problems on Macs.
Keeping Flash up-to-date is always a good idea. Download it only from Adobe. The best add-on for Flash is the ClickToFlash Safari Extension that keeps flash turned off until you run it.
Go to the Youtube HTML5 page to make Youtube give you HTML5 videos instead of Flash. Your videos will be higher quality and will make your machine run cooler.
