Why is netflix having display problems on my macbook pro... HDCP compliance?
Watching Netflix and all of a sudden it says "Display Problems" Make sure your monitor is HDCP Compliant and is not setup for mirror airplay??
The issue is from Safari defaulting to HTML5 vs using Silverlight like it did in Mavericks.
So the options are, if you want to use Safari goto your Netflix account, playback preferences and turn off HTML5. This will revert to Silverlight and will AirPlay fine*in Safari.
If you want to use HTML5, just leave the setting for HTML5 on in Netflix and use Chrome, Firefox, etc.
You can't currently have both Safari and HTML5 Netflix when using AirPlay. You'd think Safari would be a little bit more powerful with Apples stances on browser extensions.

Dual Display Problem with new MacBook Pro
Hi All,
I just got a new MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo and a 30" Dell LCD Monitor. Both are AWESOME products, BTW. But I am having a weird issue with running both displays.
If I sleep/wake the computer so that I'm never running with dual displays, everything seems fine. However, no matter what I try, I eventually get a system hang if both displays are active at once.
For example, if I turn the MBP off, attach the monitor, and power up, the MBP will get to the login screen. As soon as it hits the logon screen, it hangs.
If I hot-plug the monitor while the system is running, it will detect the new display and activate it as a secondary desktop. But, in anywhere from 5 seconds to 15 minutes (varies each time) the MBP display will turn off and the system hangs.
To me, it seems like a video driver bug or something similar to that?

I took the laptop into the Apple store, and they decided that it needed a new logic board. Then, once they received the part, and I took the laptop in for repair, they didn't replace the logic board. The guy on the bench reset the PRAM and decided that the problem was resolved. I took it home, and within about 20 minutes the same thing happened.
When I took it back to the store, I was unable to reproduce the problem for the mac Genius.
It still does it, I I just haven't had a chance to take it back to the store to try to reproduce the problem again. -
Excel display problem on retina macbook pro
Just migrated excel files from macbook pro to retina macbook pro and now having trouble with excel - can't get to bottom RH corner of excel display in order to shrink to reasonable size any suggestions to solve this?
In Excel, click Window in the menu bar, then Arrange, then select Tiled and click OK.

Display problem after upgrading MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard
Immediately after upgrading my MacBook Pro to Snow Leopard OSX, the display has been exhibiting vertical gray 'banding' extending up from the bottom of the display. Each band is about 1 inch wide. The display seems dimmer as well, and I can't brighten it up.
I'm in the process of upgrading to Lion (Snow Leopard was the intermediate step) and am hoping that resolves the problem. Any advice/suggestions?I do not have answers for you, but I'll be waiting to see if someone has a "fix" for this. I am running snow leopard on a MacBook Pro, and I have a dim screen problem that doesn't brighten also. (no lines in mine, though)

I'm having multiple problems with my MacBook Pro, HELP!
I'm having quite a few problems with my macbook, such as:
-when I click on something from the dock it opens up the applications folder
-my keyboard is acting strange, when on safari the buttons act like shortcuts eg while typing it highlight file or edit print options come up or bookmarks
-when I click on a link on safari it opens up in a new tab

Black display problem in a macbook pro A1286
I dropped my macbook pro A1286 from a chair to the floor, everything works fine, but after the drop the screen only shows a black light, I think is not a backlight problem because I still seeing the lighted apple behind. Any idea what happen to my screen and what is the solution?.
Something may have come loose - your screen may be damaged, etc. The best thing that you can do is get your machine to an Apple Store or an AASP and have them take a look at it. Screens don't come cheap - you may want to look into your homeowner's or renter's insurance to see if you've a deductible for accidental damage to computer equipment.
There's really nothing else you can do.

So sick of having Java problems on my Macbook Pro
I have problems with Java with every single browser on my mac. I have tried 6 different browsers and I cannot run any Java applications on any of the browsers. Every single time I open RuneScape or Minecraft, there is just a black screen. I can't even re-install Java since it is only available through software update...
Does anyone know a possible fix for this?Although I don't play games, I went to both websites and had absolutely no problem with either; in fact, the Runescape started all by itself. So, there must be some sort of problem with your system - my first suggestion would be to repair permissions (Disk Utility in Applications -> Utilities). Restart.
If that doesn't do it, I would do this next: go to the Apple download page and download the combo updater and install that again. After the install, make sure you repair Permissions and restart.

I am having airport problems on my macbook pro
When I go online me screens partly load and then stop and then no other pages will load, and i have taken my macbook in for other internet issues which they tell me have been fixed. any help would be great!!

It has (mostly) nothing to do with the router settings.
If you have the same problem on other places too, you might try the following if you run Lion (OS X 10.7.x).
Switch off wifi on the machine.
Then delete the below mentioned (bold) files. On Lion, the Library is hidden. You have to use "go to" -> "Go to folder" on finder to access them.
You will find the files on your system drive (not your home folder) as follow:
/library/preferences/com.apple.preferences.accounts.plist
/library/preferences/com.apple.preferences.sharing.plist
/library/preferences/SstemConfiguration/preferences.plist

Good evening all,
When i am trying to connent my MBP to an Arcam R-blink (a rather expensive music streaming receiver) i am getting a 'Bluetooth audio failed'.
The device is turned on and they are paired. I just appears they don't like talking to each other.
Eventually after several fustrating attempts they will finally connect - mainly after i have unpaired then repaired.
Anyone else had this problem? Can it be fixed?

On a personal note, I would seriously consider reinstalling Snow Leopard 10.6. It still is the most stable and efficient Mac OS.

Premiere CS6 crash with "serious problem"..on Macbook Pro?
Every minute or two it will crash. I just recently bought the whole adobe suite and am mainly using premiere but I can't get anywhere with it continually crashing.
My Mac info:
Version 10.8.3

The most recent crach happened when I tried to select about 10 audio clips that I had just unlinked fron their video and tried to delete them: "Serious error"
Also get serious errors and crash when trying to move a video clip to the beginning of the timeline while its set to "Show audio time units". Sometimes there is a little gap between the left bumber (beginning) and the video clip, though the audio goes all the way. When I try to move the video all the way to the beginning, crash.
Anyway, I report all of the crashes and give a detailed description. Any help on this would be great. -

Judging from other posts it looks like there is a maximum of 3 accounts that can be created on a device - you could either re-use one of the accounts that you've already created or create a new one on a different device or computer

After having yet another problem with my MacBook Pro and having to wipe the drive, I am now unable to sync my iPhones etc without erasing all the music on them. Is there a way around this? I have no other library!

It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

Rollover bug in 10.1.1? and where to download 10.1.0?
