Why is only one device able to connect to wifi?

why is it that I can only connect one device at a time through my airport extreme? Is this a WEP vs WPA issue? Help!

No I purchased them all from itunes store. When I move them over to transfer, only one will transfer and the others go back to the other side.

    This started when I changed the port for cable modem access.  If I shut everything down- router, MacBook, and iPhone and restart the router... the device I turn on first will connect to the internet.  The second device will read the wireless network but if you attempt to connect to the internet- it states no internet connection is available.  Is this a security feature I enabled unknowingly?  Very frustrated.

    You are using your TC in the wrong way.. in bridge and it has to be in router mode.
    Simply make sure you connect SB5100 to the WAN port of the TC.
    Go to the airport utility, manual setup, internet tab on the bottom and choose connection.. ethernet.. and down the bottom connection sharing.. share a public IP.. sorry I don't have the exact wording as my TC is in pieces being fixed.
    Update and then shut off everything again, particularly the modem.. start everything in order.. modem.. wait 2min.. then TC.. wait 2min then all the computers .. they will get an IP from the TC. With correct address and gateway.
    What was happening is the first device to turn on was capturing the one and only public IP. The rest get local IP without connection.

    I have noticed that there is a WiFi network which is free, nearby my house. It's called "Belkin54g" but when I try to connect to it, a message comes up saying: "Unable to connect to the network "Belkin54g"" When I scan for the netwrok, it has 1/3 bars on my iPod touch but on my PC, it can connect to the network.
    I am just wondering what is happening, but if it isn't solved, that doesn't matter because I've got WiFi at home.

    Lost power from Hurricane Sandy, internet would not come back online, replaced the cable modem, now one laptop connects to the internet but not the other computers or iPhones or iPad.  Comcast is USELESS (most polite description I have for them). 
    My Airport Extreme shows Excellent quality on all devices connected to it, but the Internet (brand new cable modem Motorola SB5120) shows yellow, connection: Disconnected, but does have a router address for all but one computer which is able to connect to the internet via this network.  I have restarted, rebooted, and reconfigured my network.  Why is one device able to connect but no others?  What are my troubleshooting options?

    Power off the laptop that can connect
    Power off the cable modem and AirPort Extreme as well
    Wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up the modem first and let it run a few minutes by itself
    Power up the AirPort Extreme next the same way
    Power up the iPad and see if it can connect to the Internet
    Post back on your results

  • NH1005, only one device at a time connects to internet

    I just switched my net to suddenlink cable (4mb/down, 512k/up) from a 756k clearwire broadband connection. I'm using the same network setup as before, all my machines set to auto-acquire IP and DNS addresses. Now though, I can only get on the internet with one device at a time, the other machines cannot find the DHCP server. I thought my NH1005 router had gone nuts, but that wasnt the case, went and got a new one at walmart and it does the same crap.. tried as well to access my router via 192.168.1.1, and even went in and tried using my gateway address to access my router.. both failed. I'm at a loss for what to do, especially seeing as how my old ISP just WORKED when i plugged it all in. Yes, i've reset my modem and all that stuff, many times, just at the end of my rope here. BTW my machines are a winXP laptop, and 2 playstation2's running Final Fantasy XI online.

    hi..it seems that you have got a cable modem..and as NH1005 is a hub , only one computer can get connected at a time....
    multiple computers can go online only if the hub is connected to a router...

    I have a bluetooth device in my macmini. And also now have airport.
    But it seems only one device can connect at a time.
    But if a keep turning the 2 dvices ona nd off and mucking around with them then eventuly both work at the same time. One being an apple wireless KB the other a macmice wireless mouse. i have tried other mouses but same result.
    Was wondering if anyone would know why this is doing this and mayb a fix.

However, I realised that there are inconveniences such as not being able to Facetime each other. In addition, his iTunes account is UK-based and we'd like to also have a New Zealand iTunes account for various reasons.

    I am running ACS4.2 and want to configure a group for access to only specific devices.
    I have setup a group in AD and matched this to a group in ACS. Under Network configuration, I've added the device I want the users to access.
    In group settings I've added the device under
    Network Access Restrictions (NAR)
    Is this correct and anything else I should be doing? When logging into the device I get authorisation failed. We have a group already setup for access to all devices which works fine, but I want this second group to be for only one device. Not sure where I'm going wrong with this.
    The authentication is all done through AD.

    If I go to Network Configuration there is already a group setup for what looks to be all devices - *.*.*.*

    I try to add a new group for my single device but it says it overlaps. Am I able to setup more than one group, or how do I configure a second group for just this one device?
    Basically at the moment I have an Admin ACS group in AD which has all our admins in it and have access to all devices using *.*.*.*. I now want my restricted AD group to have access to only one device...y.y.y.y but still want the other admins to have access to all devices. Is this easily achieved?

I currently have an iPad mini, iPhone 5, and MacBook pro attached to my apple accounts, but I want only my iPhone 5 to be assosiated with either one. Whenever I use any of the three devices, I get a notification on the other two telling me that these devices are now using these accounts from these services, etc. and I want these notifications to stop, along with the devices using to them. How do I do this? I completely reset the iPad mini so I don't know how I'm still getting notifications from it, and I deleted and signed of of all of my accounts everywhere I could find on my Mac. So, to restate exactly what I want to do, I want ONLY my iPhone 5 to use ANY of my Apple/iCloud accounts and ONLY it can receive emails, iMessages, and FaceTime calls. Thanks!

    If you want to disconect your Mac from iCloud, go to System Preferences>iCloud and click Sign Out.  If you only want to stop using iCloud email, just uncheck Mail.  To stop iMessage, open the Messages app, go to Messages>Preferences, click the Accounts tab, click your iCoud ID on the left-hand side, then to the right click Sign Out.  To stop FaceTime, open the FaceTime app, then click "Apple ID" then click Sign Out.
    On your iPad, go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account (or if you only want to stop using iCloud email, turn Mail off).  For FaceTime, go to Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID and sign out.  For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID and sign out.

    Whenever I access the wireless network at home with a laptop or iPod, it kicks my wife off of the iMac's access. Basically, only one device can use the wireless network at a time.

    Depending on your type of router & setup, read the troubleshooting manual, contact their tech support department, check your network settings through System Preferences, run the network diagnostic test if applicable.
    System Preferences>Network
    Click the Assist Me button.
    In the next window that pops up, click the Diagnostic button & do the necessary.
    If using one of Apple's routers cross-post in one of the Airport Forums.
    Also, search out your type of issue in Knowledge Base.

    You can try cleaning the headphone jack. However, I suspect that th headphone jack needs replacement.
    Apple will only exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price.

    Yes, you've missed the download step.
    Open the Kindle app and navigate to your Library. There is a tab at the bottom that says Cloud | Device. Tap the Cloud tab and tap the books you want to download to the device. You will see a progress indicator during the download. Once it's done, read away!
