Why is option to create striped volume grayed out in disk management?

I bought an ASUS UX32VD notebook. In the BIOS the 256 GB SSD is configured to Drive 0 and Drive 1 each 128 GB. I wiped out all the factory partitions on initial clean install to get rid of ASUS bloatware. Bad move it seems. However since Drive 0
= OS(C:) showed 91.6 GB of which only 51.3 were free and Drive 1 = DATA (D:) 116 GB with 112 GB free I figured a clean install would give me a portion of the missing 55 GB back. So my question is when I get to the section in the install process
how do I partition drives so Win 8.1 will recognize the RAID. RAID is set in the BIOS as well. On this my 5th or 6th attempt I created 2 equal partitions. After windows created it's 300 MB and 100MB partitons Disk Management shows Disk 0 (C:) 119 MB and
Disk 1 (D:) 119 MB. Still no RAID
I don't know that it is connected to the problem in Device Manager it shows Unknown Device PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller. After going into Hardware Ids and finding the ID a search finally got me to Intel and a driver
Download. Installed the D/L and still not working.

Thanks for the replies guys. From your post it appears my initial post is confusing. The 256 GB SSD is configured from the factory in the BIOS as (2) 128 GB Drives - 0 & 1. I don't know that I can change that nor want to. The sizes in Windows - This
PC - from the factory were;
OS (C:) 91.6 GB
DATA (D:) 116 GB
This indicated to me ASUS had some hidden partitions on C: I wanted to clean of bloatware and just run Windows and the programs I installed. After formating this last install the Drives show;
Local Disk (C:) 118 GB
Local Disk (D:) 119 GB
I appreciate losing some of disk space to indexing so I'm fine with the size now.
In Disk Management it shows
Disk 0 Basic 119.12 GB Online
300 MB Healthy (Recovery Partition)
100 MB Healthy (EFI System Partition)
(C:) 118.73 GB NTFS Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump Primary Partition
Disk 1 Basic 119.12 GB Online
(D:) 119.12 GB NTFS Healthy (Primary Partition)
So where did I go wrong on the Create Partitions page of the install? Next install elimiate all partitions again, fomat both drives and then force Windows to recreate the 300 MB and 100 MB partitions? As it stands now Drive (D:) shows 1 GB used but when
I open it - Show Hidden files - it says it is empty. Is RAID 0 being used?

Ok, so let's sum-up:
- You want to resize your Windows system partition (say C: )
- you failed resizing using Diskpart
- you failed resizing using a third-party server running Windows 2008 and its disk management tool (diskmgmt.msc)
- you failed resizing using Dell Extpart ...
- You have no credit to buy some EaseUS/Acronis/Partition Magic ... stuff
Then the only reliable (and last) solution you have is using Linux GParted, regardless your Partion is physical or virtual;
- if your partition is physical, good for you, boot on the Gparted CD and that would do the trick... just resize, that's a 2 mn Job.
- if your partition is a vmdk disk (VMWare), so you have to tweak your VM forcing it to boot on the GParted .ISO file (to do so: press the F2 key very quickly, as soon as the VM starts). From there, go to the Boot Option of the VM BIOS and select the CD-ROM
as the primary boot disk.
Reboot your VM, now it will automatically boot on GParted, and there you are : you CAN resize your Volume this way, it does work, the procedure is the same as if you resized a physical partition. When done, select 'Apply' and shut down your VM.
In VMWare, go back to the boot option and remove the Gparted "ISO" file from the boot menu (this will let Windows boot again).
Start your VM... Logon Windows... and now you can see your partition is successfuly resized.

No need to post something more than once.
The first thing I would do is to uninstall and reinstall. If you have any products from Norton/Symantec, disable those before reinstalling. You can turn them back on again afterwards.

Create AAC version grayed out iTunes 11

Hi!
I am running in Mavericks, iTunes 11. I have a song that I would like to convert to ringtone for my iPhone 5S.
I have followed the preliminary steps:
And I have made sure I have the proper Import settings:
However, when I go to File > Create New Version, the Create AAC Version option is grayed out:
I have tried both songs purchased through iTunes and songs I previously had, non-protected. The song is correctly highlighted. Has any of you faced this same issue? How did you resolve it?

Why can't some one explain this problem clearly even from apple guys. ClaraMGR i know your problem clearly.
Latest I tunes can't convert your mp3 to ACC even if you change the extension from mp3 to ACC it wont allow you to drop in the tones.
This is not easy task, am computer tech guy i know how things works but i always ended up fighting with user interface with iTunes its very complected for general users. I spend almost a half day to figure out whats wrong with it. finally made my own crack. Am still not sure if this is right way but 100 percent it works not matter what your format is.
I imagine you Followed all this steps.
1. iTunes preffs > General. Click the Import Setings button and set it to AAC.
2. Make sure iTunes prefs > General has Tones ticked
3. This is the key point you need some converter mp3 to AAC i used soundforge open a mp3 in soundforge got to file save as AAC/MP4
4. rename the saved AAC to m4r. IF you don't see the extension type in to youtube unhide extension in windows.
5. Drag and drop the file in to itunes tone and go enable the itunes tone sync and click the sync it will convert the file to ringtone and puts in to your itunes tone folder automatically you done. Thats all i hope this will help some one.
6. got to iphone>general>sounds you will see your file on the top
Why this is not a one click button , Would be a lot easier if drag the file and right click convert to tone job done right. Why would some one make this so complected to spend days to figure out this is not a some thing we are achieving this is just a insane why would we spend hours of our valuable time to make ringtone this way. this isn't a one thing even i don't know how to grab my own photos from my iPhone its like am running circles around again and gain got nothing. Sip dialer port export option grayed out in configuration manager ucce 10

I am configuring the outbound option for ucce 10, when i configure the sip dialer port (dialer conifguration) in conifiguration manager, i just added 5 ports, i can see this ports showing in dialer process on the PG, but i need to export this ports to Unified communication manager, i could not able to export it because this option grayed out (i did select all, or individual selection both are having export option grayed out)
Any idea?

Exporting port configuration is only allowed for SCCP, in SIP Dialer Deployment its actually not needed and that why its grayed out.

in Sip Dialer you don't need to create any Port For Dialer under CUCM. its only required in SCCP.
Sip Dialer port Directly registers with VG.

Disk Management - Cannot Extend Volume - Grayed out

i can not select extend volume as it is grayed out.
im wanting to extend my windows 7 partition into the unallocated space to the right of it, but cant.
i also have a small 30mb partition left over im wanting to extend the xp partition into it, this is also grayed out.
please help.

Hi there,
If you want to extend volume, you should make sure there is no partition between the original partition and free space (PS: it will not work if the free space is in "Extended partition"). Attached a simple screenshot in my test machine:

If you have dual-boot Windows XP and Windows 7, I suggest you create new partition with left free space and mount this partition as a folder to XP (or Windows 7 ) partition which is quite easy.

The OP is right on this one, and the replies are not accurate. I too have Win 7 installed on C: and on its own during setup is used only 100gb of my 1tb drive. So I have 900gb unallocated.
Win 7 will not allow C: to be extended to use the unallocated space. The option is grayed out.

Uninstall Option for a package is grayed out in Software Center 2012 Client side but others have it available

I created a deployment for an application that will use a Custom CMD to Install / Uninstall. Locally executing those files works perfect. The deployment installed the application and shows perfectly installed but:
Since this application is a user Self Service Application they should be able to hit to Install or Uninstall by themselves. The problem is that the Uninstall button is grayed out.
I noticed this problem for other applications too but some of them has this option available.
My question is if only the MSI Native Installer will get this option available or also the Script Installer can have it available.
I do have a Uninstall Program listed on the Deployment type as: "uninstall.cmd" before it hasn't had the quotes but even that still doesn't active the option Uninstall. I don't know if there is an option inside the UDI Wizard that I missed
to activate that will activate this option for this kind of deployments.
Please any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I have the same problem like Joel, But my deployment is available and does not have a query to detect installed users. we have used direct membership in collection, still the option of uninstall is graded out for one of the application.
So far we have tried all the below options.
Created a new application and deployed to the targeted audience – Still not worked
Changed the detection method to Product code – Still not worked
Change the uninstall script – Still not worked
Refreshed client policies – Still not worked
Reboot is not pending – Still not worked
Policy Reset – Still Not worked
Client Repair – Still not worked
WMI Repair – Still not worked
Let us know any other solution/though to resolve the issue.

The "Create MP3 Version" button is grayed out and I can't select it. I can't convert my AAC audio files as I could before. I could do it before the most recent update.

Nevermind. You can't create an MP3 version at the same time you are importing a cd. Duh!
