Why is Photobooth on my Macbook underexposed?

I was taking alot of pictures with a friend with Photobooth. It was working just fine and then suddenly it froze. When it came back to 'life', the camera showed really underexposed images. It's been two weeks and every time i try, it's all still underexposed, very very dark. What happened to my camera? Can I fix it?

I have a similar issue. The sensitivity has gone through the roof and it does not catch the tap to click.
I think this is a static electricity issue. When I touch the macbook outside the trackpad I do not get this issue. However, the issue also does not occur when I am on battery mode - which it should if it was a static issue.

The primary file to disable Memeo Backup would be that file in LaunchDaemons. Remove it and reboot and the rest is just taking up disk space.

The MBP came with it so I installed it onto the hard drive i have been using the same way with an older macbook pro but the new MBP does not see the startup disk. So i installed the same version of the os onto the MBP by hooking it up to my imac as a target disk because it would not recognize the install usb stick. Now the brand new MBP doesnt start up

I had the same issue. The 2012 macbook pro has a different 10.7.4 build that is not yet available for public release. It won't boot no matter how much you try. You need to wait for Mountain Lion and create a start up disk from ML. Apple most likely will release a 10.7.4 update for the 2012 models, but they are focused on ML now.

For me, presonall, becasue the Mac will run OS X, while the windows machine will run, well, Windows. Seriously, whenever given the option, I greatly prefer to use OS X over windows without hesitation. I buy Apple hardware because I prefer OS X to Windows and have since the OS X public beta. Apple hardware is very good quality, but so are many Windows PC (Lenovo IMO makes some great hardware, if picking a Windows machine).
I use windows at work because that's what they give me, but I'd not pick it if given the choice.

Do not sleep your Air (close the monitor with headphones attached) with headphones attached, this is known to affect some Air under Mavericks.
* this occurrence is being looked into.
Much testing on my own and others as well show that, in some instances, this occurs in Mavericks.
If you choose you may contact Apple for an appt and diagnostics.
However as said, refrain from having phones attached when you close the monitor to prevent this until it is resolved

Yes it should have 0. I would return it, that means that the battery has already went through 13 full cycles. Perhaps they accidentally resold a returned one as new.

Why does my mid-2010 Macbook Pro suffer from huge FPS drops whenever I try to play games?

Macbook info: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7, 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3, nVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512MB
When I play games on my Macbook Pro, such as League of Legends, Diablo III, World of Warcraft, etc., they operate well with latency of ~80ms usually and fps starting off between 30-60, but after only a couple seconds or minutes my fps drops to 5-15 and the games become unplayable and I must force quit the program. Restarting the computer helps temporarily but then it relapses.
I cleaned out all my downloads, applications, and other deletable files that I could find. I installed and updated Mavericks OS X and the issue persists. Before I installed Mavericks I noticed in Activity Monitor that almost all of my memory was in use while playing a game. After Mavericks the memory is almost all permanently in use, but from what I've read this is what is supposed to happen and instead of looking at memory in use you look at memory pressure, which looks normal.
I was going to upgrade from 4GB RAM (current) to 8GB RAM and see if that helps but idk if that has anything to do with my fps issue or not. Any thoughts?

Alright well I'm definitely not running virus scans or doing system backups and then complaining about slow performance.... The only other application running besides whatever game i'm playing is SMC fancontrol to make sure my computer isn't overheating.
In terms of CPU%, games like WoW and LoL take ~50-60% of CPU while active, but activity monitor still reports ~80% idle. For disk activity, i'm not sure whether it uses optical or not, I assume i just uses the hard drive, which is brand new cus it broke down about a month ago and I had to replace it (the fans are brand new as well, so I don't think it could be build up of dust or anything inside because it was opened and cleaned so recently).
I can set all graphics setting to lowest possible and improve my fps to 20, which is still awful, and enabling vertical sync just sends it back down to 15 fps. I don't see why I should have to use lowest graphics settings anyway. It can't be out of date drivers since i have 10.9.1 running. Could the graphics card be the issue? That would suck since I can replace and upgrade RAM but not the graphics card.
I have repaired disk and disk permissions multiple times, virus scans, the whole gambit and nothing seems to help.

Hi-- This seems tangentially related to a previous query --- or at least it came up as a result of a previous query, but I thought I'd offer the query in a new discussion topic:
In setting up my Airport Extreme (coupled with Express) network, my printer, and the rest of it, I open the Airport Utility and I'm given the run down (i.e. schematic) of the network with the icons (i.e globe for internet connection) and the two Airports (extreme and express) that constitute my network. And when I clicks either of the two icons for the Airport Extreme and Airport Express, there are little windows that pop up to show the devices connected to each Airport device.
All the devices isplayed as connected have names (like Joe's-Ipad or Jane's-iphone or Joe-Blows-MacBook-Pro.local) except for one which just has the IP address 10.0.1.8 and that device is one of my MacBook Pro laptops.
Why does it display the number rather than the name of the device? I've installed the relevant OS like I have on all other devices, and I've named that device within the OS. Further, when the "numbered" device (i.e. Macbook Pro) is connected via Firewire to another Macbook Pro, it will show the device name of the one in quesiton, but in Airport Utility it just gives me an IP address.
Why is this? Not a pressing matter, but I am curious. Also, why isn't the printer shown in my network via Airport Utility? Or is it? I have one other IP address for a device I haven't been able to identify (10.0.1.6) but I thought it might be another iPhone which is connected to my wifi.
Hopefully, I've present my query in a coherent way.

I'm afraid I dont have an absolute solution for you though. I had the account setup on several devices with no luck then someone else removed and re added the account from one of the ipads. it started working straight away on that one then a few days later emails started coming through on the other devices too.
I have seen a few posts around that suggest you need to add and remove the account several times before it will fix itself and start working... maybe try that. Also, if you are going to upgrade to iOS5 it would probably be worth removing the account before you upgrade then re adding it once you have. That way you can be sure there are no legacy cached issues causing your problems..?

Are you perhaps talking about a similarly spec'd 15" current gen non-retina against a 15" current retina? If so, then yes, there is a very small subtle difference when benchmarks are measured. It's possible that Apple is downclocking the chips just a tad to keep temperatures in check, but at the same time, it could also be all the extra pixels taking up more processing power and causing the small difference.
I too have seen the same articles from benchmarking websites when the retinas came out.

Why won't my new Macbook Pro boot from old cloned macbook 10.6

Just got my new Macbook Pro 10.8 up and running and used Migration Assistant to bring over all my files from an old Macbook 10.6 which has a faltering GPU. One of the audio apps I brought over needs a new authorization / unlock, and so, while I wait for that I thought I'd start the new MBP from a cloned copy of the the Macbook which had the audio app that I need (I'm in the middle of editing and have a deadline). To my surprise the MBP won't boot from the cloned Macbook.
Any ideas as to why this is?

The 10.6 clone doesn't have hardware drivers for the newer Mac model.
You can also use Migration Assistant against the clone.

It is possible to run Snow Leopard Server in a virtual machine program called Parallels and thus be able to run your previous software including PPC programs.
