Why is Premiere CS5.5 stretching my pictures?

I am doing a stop motion, and whenever I import my pictures, the are slightly compressed. It makes a big difference during playback. When a strech one of the pictures in the timeline, half of the time it is compressed and the other half of the time it is normal. How can i fix this?

Can you please give us the pixel x pixel dimensions of those Still Images?
I assume, that as they are Still Images, the PAR =  1.0, i.e. square pixels. Is that correct?
What is your Sequence Preset, with the Frame Size, and PAR?
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Why does Premiere Pro CS5 eat up space on my C drive when it conforms video files?

Hey everyone. I have Premiere Pro CS5 with the latest update installed. I am running Windows 7 64-bit on a 120GB Corsair SSD drive. I have set my scratch disk video and audio previews to a different hard drive (F: drive). I have three questions:
    1. Why does Premiere eat up space on my C drive whenever it conforms the video files I import into my project?
    2. Where on my C drive can I find the folder that holds all these conformed video files that are taking up space on my C drive?
    3. How do I prevent Premiere from eating up space on my hard drive when it conforms the video files I import into my project? Is there some way to move whatever folder is eating up space on my hard drive when Premiere conforms the video files and tell Premiere to conform the video files on another hard disk so I don't lose precious space on my C drive?
Okay, that's four questions but, can some please help me on this? Thanks.
    Okay, that's five questions.

    hello,
i think you need to relocate you media  cache files to a separate drive other than your c: drive.
in the hardware forum, Harm has done a wonderful job at advising on HDD setup, i think it mentions relocation
of swap file, media cache, etc.  all which are defaulted to your c: in your user profile
after relocating to different physical drives (all without partitions) performance usually increases

hope this helps til someone else answers more
    good luck...

  • Distorted picture while editing MP4 file in Adobe Premiere CS5

    hi,
I am trying to edit an MP4 file in the Adobe Premiere CS5 and having a distorted picture every few seconds.

Untill now I didn't have problems with editing MP4 files.

Not a problem; not scolding, just suggesting that users there might be of more help, since CS5/CS5.5 is a whole different animal than CS4.
I suspect that, if setting playback to full resolution didn't help, there's not much you can do with these files as they are. You'll have to convert them to something else. Does the break up appear when you step through the video frame by frame? If not, you could use AME to convert these to something else, which will then let you edit a little more effectively in Premiere Pro.
EDIT: Sorry, missed that you said that exporting retained the blobs. In light of that, you'll have to look at a third-party converter to flip these. MPEG Streamclip for Windows might work.

  • Premiere CS5 SN entered - asking for earlier product - earlier product SN is [removed] this is not accepted.  Why?

My Premiere CS5 started asking for its serial number.  I entered it and was then asked for a qualifying product SN.   My earlier product is Premiere Pro - SN****-**** etc.  This is not accepted.  Can you tell me why?

  • Premiere CS5.01 stops playback..why??

    Hello,
I looked into search forums first but couldnt find my problem solved unfortunately:
    I edit 5D material on Premiere  CS5.01 .
Quadcore 64bit Win 7 Ultimate 8GB RAM, extra 2x 2TB HDDs, Blackmagic Decklink 3D Extreme
I could edit and playback, but what keeps happening more and more is:
I play the timeline and it just stops when at the cut from one clip to another.
If I hit play again it goes again for a clip or two or three then it stops again at the cut of a clip
( in fact if I go back in the timeline it seems to keep the playback until a not played clip, then it stops again...)
I checked the audio But i cannot change ASIO if Blackmagic Audio is set standard.
I tried "Premiere Pro WDM sound"  instead as a standard and checked 32bit on in- and output, but that didnt do anything...
This is really frustrating. Any ideas?
    Thanks!!
    Christian

    Hi,
I'm having a similar issue with my Blackmagic Decklink card in PPro CS5. I have checked the "Turn Off Dropped Frame Warning" and the video does play continously, but now lags behind/plays slowly compared to the audio, did you ever have this problem? also did you get an answer with regards to being able to change the resolution?
    Cheers
    Dave

  • Premiere CS5 won't relink P2 card files properly

In the picture, you'll see what I'm talking about.
I moved all my p2 files over to a new computer (Has exact same installation of Win 7 and Premiere CS5 that my other computer does)
I am trying to open my project on this new computer and it had me relink the files (Which are in the exact same folder structure and ererything as my 1st compuer) But when I relink, it only reads one of the multitde of .mxf files found in the folder! Instead of putting them all together as one clip like it's supposed to.
In the pic, you'll see that the Media Browser window reads the clip correctly, telling me that it's length is 1:07:28:12 (dark highlighted clip)
BUT in the Source window (where I opened the clip) you'll see it only reads the clip as 24:45:00!
AND Same on the Timeline, you'll see the clip I was trying to relink, but with a bunch of grey bars telling me that it's blank from that point on, so only 24 min. 45 sec got relinked!
Does anyone know why this may have happened and how to fix this?

I have a different issue with the mxf files. I find when I leave the Premiere application on a PC and come back it takes over a minute for the software to reconnect the hundreds of files. I know this is an issue with the mxf files, I did a test with QuickTime. Each clip in the mxf format is made up of four to five files. This was not a large project, it was a one day shoot with 130 clips.
Does anyone else have this issue?
What is your workaround? Transcode to another file type?
    Thanks,
    Jim

  • Panasonic HDC-SD707 1080/50p & Premiere CS5?

Hey there i really need some help!
I got me a new Panasonic HDC-SD707 and till yesterday i always shot at 1080i/25...
but finally i wanted to shot in 1080/50p since this is the future and the reason you need this cam^^ (says panasonic) and progressiv got these nice details!
    OK!
so i went out and filmed some stuff at 1080/50p... put the files on my mac (via clipwrap)... and then i saw the problem!
quicktime play the files but not really smooth. sometimes the picture moves way to fast, then it slows down, then it plays at normal speed, fast,normal,slow.... and so on.
    so i started premiere cs5...
    and here are my questions!
    1. first of all there is no such preset for 1080/50p... am i blind? or isn't it there? and if it's not there... why?
    2. i tried a lot but premiere also doesn't play the files right... i also tried to use the ".mts" files straight from my cam but it's the same problem... is there anything special i have to do?
    3. is it possible that it is impossible to use the files recorded at 1080/50p and i need to stick with 1080i/25?
I hope someone can help and my english is good enough to get the problem...
I would really love some help because i'm just getting into video and don't know how to fix this problem on my own!
    Thanks in advance :-)

    1. It is not standard. Use the New Item icon in the project panel to get the correct sequence settings.
    2. See #1.
    3. No, you can edit them OK, but you can't export them, since the only allowable export format is 1080i/25.

  • CS5 - When Capable for nanoFlash Sound with Premiere CS5

Well Folks, here we go again.  I made the mistake of ordering and paying
for and going through the grief of installing CS5 - I should have my head
examined (as my Dad used to say to me frequently!), after 13 years of
purchasing the latest Adobe updates.  But excuse me, to the subject:
I have an EX1 with nanoFlash producing stunning pictures at 1920x1080 30p
100 Mbps Long GOP MXF Files, and Premiere CS5 handles the video beautifully,
but the audio right out of the box for me and all the other nano people is
gutter garbage, with stereo, one audio channel lagging the other (which can
only be laboriously fixed with each individual clip - argggghhh)!
And Adobe, in its infinite marketing hype and wisdom has decided that users
such as I are not important enough to fix this issue, even with the update!
Does anyone at Adobe or out there anyplace have any notion as to when this
    will be FIXED?
In the meantime, after a total rewrite of my hard drive OS and all the other
apps for a clean install, I am back to CS4, using Premiere CS4 with the Main
Concept plug in enabling the appropriate handling of my nano files.  But good
greif!  The time it takes to get out of the timeline, and particularly so compared
to the otherwise superb performance of Premeire CS5.
Convergent Designs - the company which developed and makes the nanoFlash
and related products announces that Adobe has two nanos in hand!
I know, I know, I should have my head examined.  But if anyone out there has
any comments avoiding that, I's appreciate the latest info or even gossip!!!!

    AndyUrtu:
In response to your query above re output on my nano, with which I am having difficulty in PPCS5:
Video: 1920x1080, pixel depth 32, frame rate 29.97, pixel aspect ratio 1.0,
    MPEG 2 - 4:2:2 - progressive - CBR 100,000 Mbit/sec - Long GOP N 15 M 3
    Audio: PCM AES-3 - 48,000 Hz 24 Bit - 2 Channel
Soooo, I think that pretty well covers it!  Now for some commentary, and to me, the
interesting query about trying other settings!  Frankly, I hadn't even thought of that.
First, according to all the users I admire and respect, and according to the principals
of CG (Convergent Designs), the 100 Mbits/sec settings seem best and ideal in
terms of securing the best picture quality at the "lowest" data rate (if you can call
that a "low" data rate!).  So I'm really not willing to change the video set up.  But
I find the idea of doing something different with the audio interesting, and may
try some different settings, since my (and others') issue is with the audio.
From the outset, the principals at CG reported that there were problems with the
audio in nano files with PPCS5, and they implied that Adobe would likely provide
a fix.  So I went ahead and purchased the nano and the Production Pemium Suite CS5
with the expectation that a solution would shortly be forthcoming.
You and I are not alone in experiencing this problem, notwithstanding comments to the
    contrary!
And I took Harm's (another one of my Heros!) to heart, and just posted my issue
    Adobe's Bug site.
I may be mistaken, but I believe that CG has just produced the thousandth nano,
and while this is miniscule compared to other devices providing files for Adobe,
for those of us who own a nano, the issue is monumental - personally and professionally,
the combo of the Ex1 and the nano produces such stunning fidelity for anything
under 20 or 30 thousand, that I am not willing to settle for anything less.
I hope that the Adobe person will supply some hard data here about the nano
settings which provide error free handling of nano files!  It would be MUCH
    appreciated.

  • Premiere CS5 - Project Monitor playback is jerky after resintall of operating system and CS5

PROBLEM: Premiere CS5 - Project Monitor playback is jerky
This had NOT been an issue prior to reinstalling the operating system and all software.  I have read numerous articles on the forums and have tried everything I can find...with no results.
STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM:
I have scoured the articles here http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?loc=en_us&term=choppy%20video&cat=support&pr oduct=premierepro and others at Cretive Cow
I have installed all updates for CS5 Master Collection, immediately following a fresh install of the operating system and SC5 Master Collection.
I have ensured that sequence settings match resolution and frame rates of footage - the problem persists.
I have tested by importing both standard def AVI files created from tape and high def SONY MP4 files - the problem persists.
I have ensured the latest Video drivers are installed (clean installation selected, so that the Windows default would be removed) - the problem persists.
I have tried the 3D settings in NVIDIA control panel | Program Settings tab... selected Adobe Premiere Pro from the drop down menu | and chaged 'Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration from the value of 'Multiple Display performance' to the value of 'single display performance'; although, I ran two monitors before using this latest NVIDIA video driver and I didn't experience this jerky footage issue - the problem persisted after affecting that change; so, I switched it back.
Since I have 96 GB of RAM, I don't use a pagefile.  A zero MB page file is the same setting I had prior to rebuilding the C:  Regardless of whether I have a pagefile or not, the problem persists.
I have tried creating a fresh user profile, where the user profile is created on the C: drive by default; and, where I left it there on C: to test for the jerky playback in a new PrPR project  - the problem persists.
Regarding the C: (system drive) and why I reinstalled everything, it had become unstable and was locking up.  I ran DISK ERROR CHECKING with the FIX parameter and the system was still locking up on me.  Keep in mind that the System drive is a solid state drive.  Anyhow, I had no choice but to dive in and reinstall everything.  I wiped the system partition of the SSD using quick format and started installing the operating system.  Now, I've read the CLAIM that this cuases performance issues; but, the only place I see issues is in the video monitor playback in PrPr.  Everything else - Office applications...printing...browsing the Internet...works just fine, everything is responsive, whereas, I couldn't do ANYTHING with it before.

    I'VE RESOLVED THE PROBLEM!
    PREFACE:
OK, I am hoping that through this week-long Operating-System-and-Software-reinatalltion excerise of mine, I have revealed something that everyone -- whom have been cursing Adobe over -- can apply to their systems to resolve this jerky video problem within PremierePro CS5 (and quite possibly other versions, too).
If you've read my post above, you've seen all the steps I've taken to resolve the problem.  I've read many posts, some of which have mentioned  hardware upgrade / opitmization steps that one may take to enhance performance, and hopefully resolve the problem.  I've read where people have taken these steps and have still experienced the problem...and then they curse Adobe.  Fer-shame, fer-shame, fer-shame! (nod to Gomer Pyle).
In my case, I knew it wasn't an Adobe issue, as it had worked flawlessly before; and, it wouldn't require a hardware upgrade or reconfigureation, as my system is completely maxed out with two processors, a system drive and a hardware RAID5 array, a CUDA-suported nVIDIA 4800 FX card, and 96 GB of RAM.  bla bla bla, puke...whatever.  Bottom line is this:
It's not a software issue.  It's not and Adobe issue; and Gawd no!  It's NOT a PC vs. Mac issue!  HA HA.  The software had worked swimmingly well prior to the reinstallation / 'lobotomy' I perfomed on the system drive.
    SOLUTION FOR ME:
Download and install the updated drivers for the motherboard.  Mine is an Intel Workstation Board S5520SC.  Intel has an INTEL DRIVER UPDATE UTILITY which automatically scaned my Intel system and identified drivers which needed updating.  A very handy, time-saving tool!!!  Here's the URL: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu
The scan revealed two Intel drivers needing an update:
    Intel Chipset
    Wired Networking
    and one non-intel driver:
    Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-fi
I downloaded and installed these three drivers, rebooted, and tested PremierePro, and was extatic to find this resolved the problem.
If you have a motherboard from another manufacturer, then you may want to navigate over to their wibsite to locate chipset and other updated drivers for your motherboard.
    ROOT CAUSE:
While Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate was able to install certain default drivers during the Operating System installation (keeping in mind that this was done on an Intel Solid State Drive that I formatted using Quick Format) these default chipset drivers apparently weren't current and were ultimately the root cuase of the jerky video playback within PremierePro CS5.
    Peace

  • How do I get my Adobe Premiere CS5.5 workspace to work

I am having trouble getting my workspace in Adobe Premiere CS5.5 to open up. Nothing works and I cannot figure out why. Can anyone help? I have tried to reinstall the program and resesting the workspace and it did not help.

Per the following your headset uses the HFP or the HSP profile.  The iPod only supports the A2DP profile for headphones.

  • Can I run Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on MacbookPro with Lion??

For the love of GOD!! Can someone please explain to me why I cannot effectively use Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on my MacBook Pro (Lion OS)??? I've tried getting all updates from both Adobe and Apple, still no luck. Playback is horribly choppy, resolution is diminished and the program appears to be useless...no one at Apple seems to know anything about Adobe. Sorry if this quesiton has already been proposed, but is their a basic overall solution to get Premiere to run on lion???

  • Why Does Premiere Pro CS4 Import Only 10 Seconds Of Layered Photoshop CS4 .psd??

Why Does Premiere Pro CS4 Import Only 10 Seconds Of Layered Photoshop CS4 .psd??
I have a 24 second clip I layered in Ps and when I import the psd into Pr THE SEQUENCE IS ALWAYS ONLY 10 SECONDS!
How can I change this?  Why does this happen?  I really need to know as soon as possible.  I have a video project due this Wednesday (granted it's for an AV class where I'm just learning Pr.  But I can learn VERY FAST!)
    Thanks for your help.
    --OSXniCKels

Just in case I wasn't clear in my last line "just Click-drag on the Tail of your .PSD to set the desired Duration," once you have Imported your .PSD (as Footage), just drag it to the Timeline, Click-drag on the right-hand margin (the Tail) and stretch out its Duration, as is required.
Now, if you Imported as a Sequence, open that Sequence's Timeline, and do the same.
I normally will set my Edit>Preferences>Still Duration to about what I think will be applicable, do my Import, and then with the Info Panel handy, just alter the Duration to suit.
    Good luck,

  • 'Easing' in Premiere CS5

I'm wondering if there is a way to use 'easing' (like in Flash CS5) when I'm moving and/or zooming into or out of an object.
I've got a jpeg that I imported and put on a layer in Premiere CS5 and I start them zoomed way in and am zooming out over about 10 seconds. It seems to start to zoom out very slowly, but as it goes more zoomed out, it appears to speed up. I understand why this happening logically, but can't seem to figure out a way to stop it from happening. I'd like it to zoom out at the same pace no matter how small the image gets. In Flash, I would use easing or something like that. Since it's a still image, not footage, I can't use time re-mapping.
I'm hoping the solution is easy and is staring me in the face...
    Thanks for any help!

This explanes exactly how keyframing and keyframe interpolation is done.

  • Can't import .mxf video files in Premiere CS5

    Hi all!
I've just installed Premiere CS5 and imported some .mxf files to a project. But premiere just recognizes the audio tracks, it don't recognizes the video one.. it's like it was a simple audio file.. and i can see the video outside premiere.. anyone knows why is this happening?
With cs4 i never had this problem.
    Thanks in advance!

Assuming you're not using the trial version :
if you can't import XDCAM EX files using the Media Browser, which will only import what Premiere needs, then there is something wrong with your installation.
PPro CS5.02 woks with all flavors of XDCAM EX files including those from the 350/320 cameras.
