Why is Premiere Pro crashing during a media render?

I have a pretty straightforward project consisting of still photos, some video clips and an audio narration track. It is 55:28:38 long. When I try to export the media, during the render it gets about 28% of the way through and then I get a message that Premiere Pro has stopped working. Any ideas of where I begin to trouble shoot?

  • Premiere Pro Crashing During Export

    Hi,
I am getting the "Premiere Pro encountered a serious error" message in the middle of an export - over and over. I have tried rendering at 1080p and at 720p. My export gets to around the 1:20 mark (in my 4 minute sequence) and crashes. I have looked at the clip that it's on during crash. Nothing seems to be amiss and I'm able to render those frames for preview in PP. I have Denoiser II and Looks applied to this clip. But, I have Denoiser applied to all of my clips and I have Looks applied to many of them. Every clip up to this point in the sequence renders, no problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Premiere Pro Crashed while loading media

I am using Premiere Pro CS4 on windows vista 32bit.  its happening with only one project, that when it finishes loading all media, it crashes. Media consists of AVI files, MP3, WMV Audio files and titles.

    Welcome to the forum.
Can you tell us much more about your Project, your system and your source files?
This ARTICLE will give you some tips on the types of info that will be so useful.
This ARTICLE will give you some background into the concept of "wrappers," which is all that file formats are. It's what's inside that counts. Also, be sure to check out the links in the last reply, as I added those to other useful articles.

  • Premiere Pro crashes during rendering any format

I have the current Premiere Pro CC Version in my 64bit windows 8.1 System. I have a nividia 7800 graphics card with current driver, 16GB ram and intel core i5 3,2GHz.
I did a 10:29 min version of my last holiday and tried to export it and it crashed. .It displayed a message that premiere pro stopped working and I will get a notice as soon as a solution is found.
I Tried to export to different formats and it never worked. I tried to export another shorter video I did (3:29min) and it worked. Both feature soundtrack, titles and so on.
Any idea, what could be the problem ? It did not do this till I bought my trialversion, before that I could export the video. I however also changed on part of the soundtrack and added some titles after registering the version.
What could cause a problem like this ?
    cheers

It does crash everytime at the same time after rendering already 81% of the file. This is the same in Media Encoder and in Premiere pro. There seems to be no entry in the event viewer of windows to this toppic. I also did ne reinstall vie cc cleaner and it did not help.
Can it be that the programm crashes since i have lots of pictures larger 100MB in it ? (Panoramas)
Still any help would be nice
I also created random video files that are larger than 10 min and it works, just this project does not.

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 and Media Encoder CC 2014 Crashing constantly

Running out of options and ideas...
Symptom: Every time I work on any project in Premiere Pro CC 2014 or try to render out in Premiere Pro CC 2014 or Media Encoder CC 2014, the software crashes after 2-3 minutes of use/rendering when the GPU is enabled in Premiere/Media Encoder, or after 5-10 minutes of use/rendering in software only mode.  The crash is a software crash, Windows continues to run fine.
I have tried all the standard list of steps that adobe reps post on threads like these - clearing media cache, software only on render, new project, etc.  https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/troubleshoot-system-errors-freezes-windows.html

I have wiped adobe off the machine and reinstalled - same problem.  I have tried projects that crash the machine on other machines and it works fine.
The machine is new, clean install and runs everything else great - 3ds max, high res games, scientific computing - max memory use, etc.
    Spec:
5K iMac running bootcamp and Windows 8.1
    Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.0 GHz
    32 GB ram
    1TB SSD
    AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB GDDR5
I have used this bootcamp/imac configuration for 5+ years on 3-4 machines and everything has always just worked great.  Guess it was my time for a problem, but I'm open to new ideas to try...
Finally - I hope someone from Adobe reads this.  I have spent 2 nights on the phone with support.  The first night I got an over confident answer that it's a gpu driver issue, just go with software only (no luck - same crashes and different drivers aren't solving the problem).  Tonight I was hung up on "by accident" as the agent looked up my video card after waiting 15 minutes to talk to someone, only to be hung up on a second time while on hold after calling back and waiting 20 minutes (because I assume the Adobe call center closed). No message to say so, just hung up on. An overall very disappointing experience.
Thanks in advance to anyone with ideas on things to try,
    Cheers!

I am having a similar problem.
Premiere Pro CC 2014 suddenly decided to crash every time I export to either Adobe Media Encoder or within Premiere itself.
The encode will usually go for 5-10 minutes before the programs either spits out a "serious error has occurred" window, or it just sits there frozen until I force quit.
I did find a work-around for the moment. If I open AME and FILE > OPEN, select my project and then the sequence I want, AND put it in Software render mode, it will work.
My timeline is 2K, 58 minutes in 23.976
Only effects applied are Lumetri LUTs - no third party.
I've exported as recently as a week ago without issue.
Running OSX 9.5 on an X99 board
    3.75 GHz 8-core
    64GB 2400 MHz RAM
    EVGA Titan Black 6GB
Because I can get my renders out, I am not too concerned. Either there is something wonky with my timeline that screws with any graphics enabled rendering, or there is a bug that is have the same effect. I will try rendering on another of my edit bays that utilizes a GTX 580 that I KNOW works. The Titan is pretty new to my workflow.
Thanks Adobe, for checking this out.

  • Why Does Premiere Pro CS4 Import Only 10 Seconds Of Layered Photoshop CS4 .psd??

Why Does Premiere Pro CS4 Import Only 10 Seconds Of Layered Photoshop CS4 .psd??
I have a 24 second clip I layered in Ps and when I import the psd into Pr THE SEQUENCE IS ALWAYS ONLY 10 SECONDS!
How can I change this?  Why does this happen?  I really need to know as soon as possible.  I have a video project due this Wednesday (granted it's for an AV class where I'm just learning Pr.  But I can learn VERY FAST!)
    Thanks for your help.
    --OSXniCKels

Just in case I wasn't clear in my last line "just Click-drag on the Tail of your .PSD to set the desired Duration," once you have Imported your .PSD (as Footage), just drag it to the Timeline, Click-drag on the right-hand margin (the Tail) and stretch out its Duration, as is required.
Now, if you Imported as a Sequence, open that Sequence's Timeline, and do the same.
I normally will set my Edit>Preferences>Still Duration to about what I think will be applicable, do my Import, and then with the Info Panel handy, just alter the Duration to suit.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
