Why is Premiere Pro CS6 not recognizing my Photohop .PSD files?

"Photoshop" is not even listed as a supported file in the File Type section.
If I select to view all files and then import a PSD file, I recieve the following:  Error Message "File format not supported."
This is completely bizarre.

If you look in Windows Explorer (if you are on a PC - I don't know where to look on a Mac), when you select a Photoshop file does it have the right Icon, or does it point to a different application?

  • Premiere Pro CS6 not recognizing audio in imported video

I'm a bit of a Premiere Pro novice, and I just started working with CS6. For some reason, when I import an h264 .mp4 video clip into my bin (via dragging it from a Finder window), then place it on my timeline, there's no audio. Same goes for export. I know for a fact that the source file did have audio; what am I doing wrong?

What camera make/model is the source?
Did you copy the entire folder from the camera to your hard drive?

  • Why Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 (Mac) fail to import .wma file?

it's work on window PC, but when i switch to Mac it's not support the WMA file.

WMA and WMV are not natively supported on Mac. You could try converting the WMA file to another format that is support on Mac (e.g.: AIFF) or look into 3rd party plug-ins for WMA support.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 classroom in a book lesson files "file format not supported" error message

Hey y'all. I have the creative Suite cloud membership and am learning Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and have the latest update. I have an iMac, version 10.8.2 and have been going through the lessons 1-8 so far from the 'Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 Classroom in a book' with no problems. So far so good. Then, when I opened Lesson 9 project today, I realized that certain media was off line (see pic below-videos and maps) even though I had been able to open the project. I tried to see if it was a link issue but was unable to select the 'Link Media' option and the system did not give me the option to link media when opening a new project. The strange thing is that I am now able to open some lessons with everything working fine but when I try to open other lessons such as lesson 9 or 10 or 11 I notice media files offline after getting the "file format not supported" pop-up error message when attempting to open a project. It's random as some lessons I had opened previously now give this error message of file format not supported when they didn't in the past whilst others work. I have deleted all the lesson files from my hard drive and reinstalled them from the cd onto my hardrive but the issue persists. Any idea as to why all of a sudden Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is giving the error message "File format not supported"??? when opening the lessons. I have not changed any preferences. I've included some screenshots though I don't know how much help they will be... Is anyone else running into this issue??? Can anyone help???
NEVERMIND. I FOUND OUT ON MY OWN WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND IS NOW FIXED. YAY!

Why were you trying to link a file in the project to the project file itself? Shouldn't it be a video file or something? Like .mov .wav .avi .mp4 and not .prproj

  • Why will Premiere Pro CS6 only import to mpeg format?

Hello, so I've been using Premiere Pro CS6 now for only a few months and when I imported (using "capture" or F5) and tested some footage  from a HDV camera using a miniDV tape, I noticed that Premiere Pro would only import to mpeg format. I looked up ways to change this but couldn't find anything. So in short I'm asking if there is a way to change import format so that whenever I do import from DV tape, it isn't mpeg?
    Thanks!

    ...footage  from a HDV camera...
    ...only import to mpeg format.
HDV capture will always be mpeg.
whenever I do import from DV tape, it isn't mpeg?
DV capture will be .avi (pc) or .mov (mac).
    note:
Capture from tape, import file based media.
    Capturing and digitizing
Also, what's the problem with mpeg?
Why are you determined to change it?

  • Why is Premiere Pro CS6 (perpetual) reverting to Trial Mode?

I purchase 11 copies of Premiere Pro CS6 over a year ago. This is not a subscription!
I have had to "re-license" these copies for the third time as they continue to revert to trail mode.
This is accomplished by signing into my adobe account.
    This is very annoying......
Can anyone explain why this is happening?

  • After Effects CS6 and Premiere Pro CS6 not available for installation for 32-bit systems

After Effects CS6 and Premiere Pro CS6 require a 64-bit operating system and processor to be installed and run.
If you subscribe to Creative Cloud but use a 32-bit computer system, you will not be able to download and install Premiere Pro CS6 or After Effects CS6.
This issue primarily affects users on the Windows operating system, since all supported versions of the Mac OSX operating system are able to run 64-bit applications.
    See this document for details:
"64-bit Windows required for After Effects and Premiere Pro CS6"
In general, you can only download and use applications for which your computer system meets the minimum system requirements.

Who's says that Microsoft can't debug?
I used msconfig, first disabling startup items, -same result.
Enabled all startup items, disabled all non-microsoft services - AE worked!
I re-enabled each service in turn until AE crashed.
The fault was related to an item for a video streaming device I have in my house.  It was Monsoon-multimedia's Vulkano Service.  Sometimes under the old name of Hava, this is an app that acts like a sling-box to send my Cable TV to my screen.  It does load a couple of virtual devices in device manager, and uses a proprietary codec.
I uninstalled the vulkano streamer application and rebooted the external Vulkano device.  I reinstalled the Vulkano and verified it connected to the device and could stream.  Once it did, I tried AE again and IT WORKED!
I wonder if simply rebooting the Vulkano would have fixed it.  Its like opening the garage door to turn on the refridgerator.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Premiere Pro CS6 not playing audio on imported MP4 files.

I am editing a series of MP4 clips shot with a Canon Vixia, and for some reason, Premiere Pro CS6 will not play the audio on a few of the imported files. All of the clips were videotaped with the same camera. I know that there is audio on the clips in question, because it works fine when they are opened in Windows Media Player. I have deleted and reimported the faulty files, to no avail. I noticed in the online discussions that several others have had this problem; but I haven't been ablet o find an online fix thus far. I would greatly appreciate advice on this!

I have a Canon Vixia HFS100, which saves AVCHD files to an SD card... exactly what model is your camera?

  • Premiere Pro CS6 not locating media, freezing

For the last couple of days, Premiere Pro on my laptop (15" Apple Retina MacBook Pro, 12gb ram, 2.7GHz i7 - USB 3.0 Lacie drive) has been having trouble locating media. When I open a project, the "Locating Media" diologe shows the progress bar start moving, then stop and not move again. Hitting "Cancel" makes the pinwheel of patience come up. When I use the "Command + Option + ESC" command, Premiere Pro CS6 is not shown as "Not Responding". Force quitting the app and restarting the computer doesn't do anything to change this behavior.
Would appreciate any guidence on how to remedy this.

    Good Day,
I am using Premiere Pro CS6 and I have been been doing metalogging for my film. I am having this issue of locating media when I changed my project over from a failing hard drive to a new one, I left the project on OVERNIGHT to locate media and its in the same spot. With such metalogging I have only been changing the names and descriptions of the files in the bin and I have a good few days work done on it. Is there any way to save the integrity of that bin without having to start an entirely new project over and start from scratch. This is most annoying.
I don't believe I have any corrupt rendered files, perhaps its a corrupted video?
Any help would be appreciated as I see no fix or announcement has come up for this problem yet.

  • Why is Premiere Pro CS6 crashing during render at 50% completion?

I am running Premiere Pro CS6 on MacBook Pro, flash drives. The Mac is brand new. Nothing else is running. No other non-factory programs are installed.
Regardless of what I do, during export to any output type, Premiere crashes when it's rendered to 50%.  I take the same project and only render part; crash at 50%. I try another new project, with nothing but a single video file, crash at 50%.
<frustration>I am about to run to Final Cut, and I really don't want to. I am losing money and time that I don't have.</frustration>
Any feedback would be majorly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

Make sure you are not running out of available space
on your target drive for the export.

  • Does Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 not support the Quadro K2000D GPU card?

I can't get the Premiere Pro CS6 to recognize that Quadro K2000D is installed on my computer.  I'm running Windows 7.  I see in the list that Quatro 2000D and Quatro K2000 is listed as supported but I haven't come across Quatro K2000D.

If your nVidia card has at least 1Gig of video ram, use the nVidia Hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557 - which is a simple entry in a "supported cards" file

  • Premiere Pro CS6 - video noise in the exported file

    Hi everyone,
Im trying to make the transition from FCP7 to Premiere Pro CS6. I edited my first project with Premiere Pro and exported the sequence. However I noticed that the exported file had more video noise than the original clips.
The material is shot by Canon 5D Mark III and edited natively in the Premiere's timeline. Then they are exported to ProRes 422. After noticing the noise I exported the sequence as "match the sequence settings" and it created the .mpeg file. Same thing, there was noise. I then tried another other formats of that same clip and transcoded the Mark III footage to Xdcam EX 1080p before sending to premiere. Same thing, no matter what I did.
The only way i got the exported file to look the same as original file, was to convert the files before sending to ProRes 422, then edit those files in Premiere in the sequence thats settings are XDCAM EX 1080p and then to export it to ProRes422.
Do you have any thoughts for this. The noise I'm talking about is not a huge amount of noise but definitely noticeable if you look the FULL-HD material.
I really hope there is some setting I missed. Im using Mac pro 2009 and Macbook pro 2011.
    Thanks

    Hi Thomas
Try exporting by enabling "Render at maximum depth" and " Use maximum render quality" in the export dialogue window.

  • Premiere pro cs6 won't load AVCHD video files

why won't premiere pro cs6 load video files?
Premiere pro application loads but won't load HD video files.

What codec packs do you have loaded?  With a straight installation I have had any problems loading my Sony AVCHD 1920 x 1080 files in any version of Premiere.  What is your source of your media?

  • Premiere Pro CS6 not loading/linking preview files - any suggestions?

    MacPro 2010, 16-core, 2.66 GHz, 32GB RAM, Quadro 4000, OS X 10.7.4
When I save a Project and then reopen it, Premiere Pro CS 6.01 does not load the Preview Files from the Renders.  I have checked the specified Preview Files location and the files are there.
In order to work, I must render the entire Project again - which is too time-consuming and counter-productive.
Am I doing something wrong?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem. I've done many projects in CS6 and this is the first time it's happened. FIrst half of the timeline was fine but the second half of the timeline, that was previously fully rendered, couldn't locate the preveiw files. The preview files are still in the preview folder but it doesn't see them in the timeline anymore. How do you delete those preview files since they are no longer recognized in the timeline? I know you can manually delete them in the preview folder by playing them and matching them to the video clips in the timeline.
