Why is preview in browser uploading my page to my server and trying to show from there?

I must've changed some setting because all of a sudden when I go to page in my browser DW connects to my server and tries to show the page remotely as opposed to locally, which is what I'm used to, and is my preference at least for now. I'm sure it's something really simple but I havent been able to disable this feature.

So let's make sure I understand. You have opened a file from your local site. You F12 to preview it in a browser. At that point, the FTP connection kicks in and the file is uploaded to the server, and then the browser is trying to view the page on the server? Sounds like you have configured your Testing server the same as the Remote server - is that the case? Look in the site definition to see this.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

What is the format of the pics? Do all of the file names have 8 characters like DSCN0001.jpg?

Why can't I successfully upload web pages using FTP?

I recently installed Adobe Dreamweaver and successfully connected to a remote server where the files on my existing website are stored. I was then able to call up web pages from my local site, make revisions and successfully upload them (using FTP) to the remote server.
Problem started occurring when I received a Dreamweaver prompt advising me to change the name of my website's root folder from Unnamed Web Folder 1 to the actual location of the files on my i-Mac hard drive. In doing so, I moved the path of the site and changed the name of the root fokder.
Since then, when I make revisions on a locally stored web page and try to upload it to my remote server (by clicking on the "put" upward arrow), the operation seems to be excuted correctly. But when I test the revised page on a separate browser (like Safari or MI Explorer), the un-revised web page is displayed.
In trying to remedy the situation. I fear that I've been digging a deeper and deeper hole and may have screwed things up even further.

I'm really confused. So let's back up about 4 steps.
Local site files should be on your hard drive. The same computer hard drive that Dreamweaver is installed on. For sake of argument, let's put your site files into a folder called YourSiteName on your C: drive. Do not use any spaces or special characters in your folder or filenames.
LocalSite = C:\YourSiteName
Then tell DW where to find that folder as in the screenshot I posted earlier.
Next, define your remote server settings and tell DW which root directory your hosting company told you to use for your site files. Some hosts use public_html or htdocs or www. And some hosts don't use one at all in which case you leave that field blank.

Hit the test button to confirm you can connect to the remote server.

I chose Firefox as the primary browser for Adobe Dreamweaver's 'Preview in Browser' to display Web pages as I develop them. '''Firefox used to work just fine'''. Recently, however, when choosing Firefox to Preview in DW, FF merely opens to my home page. Once opened, FF will not accept/preview any files from Dreamweaver, regardless of how many times I choose to Preview. Safari and others - when selected as the preview browser - display them perfectly.

How do i upload an image to a server and put the name into a database table

Ok, i found a php image upload script that im using for a cms
image gallery on my site. But for it to work the way i need to i
have to have certain information submited into a mysql table at the
same time. I could just make it so the user types the name of the
image in a second form, but i would rather not have to as it seems
a clumsy way to do things and opens things up to typos etc.
So, i can upload the image ok, and i can upload data to the
table, but i dont know what I have to do so that the name of the
uploaded file is automaticly inserted into the mysql table.
The first bit of code below is the form I am using to upload
the file to the server. The second bit of code is what I am using
to tell the server what the file name is.
How do I combine the 2 form into one? Please help. It is
driving me to dispair.

How do upload a site to a server and make it work

i designed a site using dreamweaver cs3 and uploaded it to a remote server, but when i tried to test it i couldnt see the flash elements i had embeded this happens with pictures too. is there anyone who can help me?

So, what you are saying is that when you view your site locally in the browser everything is looking and working as expected, but when you upload the site then view it in the browser on the web images and flash elements are not showing up, correct?
What are yopu seeing? Is there a little red x for your images? Do you have a URL we can look at?
It is possible that Dreamweaver didn't upload everything correctly - it does this some times. Did you upload your entire site using an actual FTP program? This is often a good failsafe to be sure everything is there.

You can just give the web pages different file names and you will have multiple web pages, but I suppose you mean that you want seperate url's to point to each user?

Can preview in browser - upload then nothing

I created a movie file in Flash 8 - exported it to
Dreamweaver 8. I can preview it in the browser but when I upload it
to the website nothing appears. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Do
you have to insert special code to go with the flash movie
document? Thanks.

Why is it that I upload The Wall into my iTunes and the cover art is never recognizable?

The only way I can describe the problem is, the word Firefox appears on top with a drop down arrow. The next line is the backward/forward button with the address bar. Next is the Most Visited button, Getting Started, Latest Headlines and to the far right Bookmarks. The next line begins with Yahoo logo exclamation mark, search, my mail icon, my My yahoo icon, bookmark icon, messenger icon, yahoo answers icon, the weather icon and finally facebook icon, and to the far right Channels, Notifications, Share this page and toolbar settings. Next final line, tabs I have opened.
I will gladly send a screenshot if this will help solve my problem?.
