Don't worry a lot of people, including me, are having this problem. I think it's a problem going on at Apple's end, hopefully it will be up soon.

Mac App Store problem - I have an update for an app that do not exist in my Mac
Hi, I have an update for an app that I never didn't bought before in my Mac App Store.
Thats happen before more than a year, I tried everything including updating the app (got an error) and format the Mac but the update for this app didn't remove.
the problem is maybe in my Apple account so I need your help, is there any way to remove this update?You may have installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store could prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app could be "Final Cut Pro." Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
5. Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method. -
App freezes when JComboBox.addItem is called for the first time
I have a Swing app that intermittenly freezes when the users go
to a certain screen. I've tracked it down to a specific line. There is
a JComboBox on the screen. The application freezes when the
app tries to load the first item into the JComboBox using
myComboBx.addItem(Object o). I pass in an Integer.
The strange thing is that this only happens once a day, or
sometimes less, in a group of 4 users. But when it does
freeze, it always freezes on that line. After freezing, the user
can go back into the app, and go to the same screen(no
data has changed), and they can get in without it freezing.
So it seems to have nothing to do with the data - it's purely
intermittent.
The only thing I can think of is that the underlying native peer
for the JPanel that the JComboBox is on, has not been created
yet, and I'm trying to load an item into a combo box that doesn't
really exist yet. Anyone know if this is possible? It may only
happen when the user's machine is running very slow.
I've included the relevant code below. Any feedback would
be greatly appreciated.
Most of the action happens in the class ICS_COMP_PANEL.
First, in a different class, an object of type ICS_COMP_PANEL
is created, and then the method startCompensationScreen is
called on that object. From then on, methods of
ICS_COMP_PANEL are called. The app freezes on the
COMP_NAME.addItem(retObj) call in the method
addCompensationRecordsToScreen.
In another class:
screenComp = new ICS_COMP_PANEL(this);
screenComp.startCompensationScreen();
public class ICS_COMP_PANEL extends javax.swing.JPanel
implements java.awt.event.ActionListener
, java.awt.event.ItemListener
//this is the comboBox that's causing the problem
javax.swing.JComboBox COMP_NAME = new javax.swing.JComboBox();
public ICS_COMP_PANEL(ICS_FOLDER iFrame)
COMP_NAME.setEditable(true);
jpanel1.add(COMP_NAME);
COMP_NAME.setBackground(new java.awt.Color(204,204,204));
COMP_NAME.setFont(new Font("Dialog", Font.BOLD, 12));
COMP_NAME.setBounds(357,7,156,15);
public void startCompensationScreen()throws GException
//The line below always gets a non-empty hashtable back
//from getCompensationRecords().
Hashtable compList = getCompensationRecords();
COMP_NAME.removeItemListener(this);
addCompensationRecordsToScreen(compList);
COMP_NAME.setSelectedIndex(0);
loadCompensationRecord((Integer)COMP_NAME.getSelectedItem());
COMP_NAME.addItemListener(this);
//the only thing to notice in this function is that it loads a hashtable
//with Integers as the keys and as elements
private Hashtable getCompensationRecords()
Hashtable compList = new Hashtable();
try{
String SQLStatement = "select comp_tran_number from comp_tran_record where
comp_ic_tran_number = " + FOLDER.caseNumber;
gifts.database.ResultSetCopy rsc =
gifts.global.standardData.ICSServer.resultSetCopier(SQLStatement);
while ( rsc.next())
Integer compNum = rsc.getInt(1);
compList.put(compNum,compNum);
catch ( Exception ex){
GTool.errorMsg(this,ex);
return compList;
private void addCompensationRecordsToScreen(Hashtable compList)
System.out.println("add compensaion:");
Enumeration e = compList.elements();
COMP_NAME.removeAllItems();
while ( e.hasMoreElements())
Object retObj = e.nextElement();
if ( retObj instanceof Integer)
//The next line is where the app freezes
COMP_NAME.addItem(retObj);
//This should not get called because the itemListener is removed
//before the JComboBox is filled.
public void itemStateChanged(ItemEvent e)
// This method is derived from interface java.awt.event.ItemListener
// to do: code goes here
System.out.println("change Item");
Object object = e.getSource();
if (object == COMP_NAME)
Object retObj = COMP_NAME.getSelectedItem();
if ( retObj instanceof Integer && COMP_NAME.getSelectedItem() !=
currentCompensationRecord)
reloadCompensationRecord((Integer)retObj);

Okay. I am totally in a bad situtation. I have IOS 6 and 2 things have gone wrong. The Music app where you have your music, is bad. I have songs and stuff. And when i touch a song nothing happens. The letters are grey and nothing happens. The app store is also a problem. The appstore on IOS 6, when im on search and i search for and app, it exits the app store in like 5 seconds. And when i first updated the IOS 6, it was still like that HELP!
Did you do a restore from iTune or iCloud backup recently?

I recently updated my iPod Touch 4th generation to the iOS 6.1. I did this because many of the apps I wanted to get required the new software. But now that I have it, it won't let me download any apps. Every time I attempt to, a message pops up that says "Your account is not valid for use in the Australian store. You must switch to the U.S. store before purchasing." Well 1) I don't live in Australia, I live in Cambodia. And 2) I went to iTunes and it says I am registered to the U.S. store. Is there any way I can fix this? I never had any problems downloading apps before I updated.
You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country... -
can any1 help me with the internet on my iphone 3gs it says no connection on the facebook news feed but all the other internet stuff works
Contact the develpers of that app, which is not an Apple product for support. You can find the developer contact info in the description of that app in the App Store or Google it.

Receive the message "unable to connect to itunes store" when trying to install updates for my apps
trying to install updates available for a number of app on my phon and keep getting the same message "unable to connect to itunes store"............
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Hi Williamo18,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know it is frustrating when you cannot connect to the iTunes Store. In this situation I would recommend the steps in the attached article to help you resolve this.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Have a great day,
Joe -

Hi,
I am trying to understand how to access an SQL database from CVI.
I don't understand how the sample programs shipped with the toolkit can access the database they use if it is not listed in the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
In the code, I see the line:
hdbc = DBConnect ("DSN=CVI SQL Samples");
However, there is not an entry that I can find in the ODBC Administrator for "CVI SQL Samples."
The SQL help suggests there should be a User DSN named, "CVI32_Samples", but I don't see that entry in the ODBC Administrator on my win-7 system.
I believe the sample program is accessing a database file named, "C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\CVI\Samples\sql\samples.mdb".
Exactly how is the call to DBConnect() translated to the file, "samples.MDB", if there is no entry in the ODBC Administrator?
Regards,
MarkI figured it out. There is a 32 bit ODBC administrator and a 64 bit ODBC administrator. The ODBC administrator I run through the control panel is the 64 bit ODBC administrator. To access the 32 bit administrator I need to run, "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe".
I am running the samples in 32 bit mode, so I need to use the 32 bit ODBC administrator.
Best,
Mark
