Why is Safari/Mac breaking this site?

What can we do to make Safari/Mac view this site without errors?
http://apcinternet.com/edenvale/
Site markup is 100% correct http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fapcinternet.com%2Fedenvale%2F&cha rset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 and works perfectly on Firefox, IE7, IE6, Opera and even Safari/PC - but breaks badly on Safari/Mac.
Any thoughts would be very welcome.

Klaus, from what ulysses69 said above:
We don't have Macs, but our client and some colleagues do.
It's clear he is troubleshooting a problem with the web site when viewed in the Mac version of Safari.
To ulysses69: While clearly many of us are willing to help with this (and I kind of enjoy it, personally), questions like this are probably better suited to other web sites that have forums for general web site testing and troubleshooting. Apple's forums are specifically intended for questions and answers about problems using Apple's products, which isn't really what you're looking for. That said, I don't have a problem continuing in this thread. Just be aware that there are probably more effective places for this kind of question.

this website is supposed to open a pop-up website (youtube) after I click on the screen.
But why can't my safari open it? When I click on it, nothing happen......    I saw somebody's mac can do this.
Anybody can tell me any possible reason?

    Hi..
Your profile indicates your Mac has v10.6.4 installed. Is that correct?
Click the Apple  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click: About This Mac
    Which version do you see?

  • Random muting of Mac sound. Why doesn't Mac adress this?

I am having a recurring problem with the sound randomly muting. In the System Preferences panel, the volume slider is grayed out and the 'mute' option is checked but also greyed out. This has been happening on and off for a while. Sometimes restarting works but not always. In googling this problem it is obvious that this has been happening to many people since at least 2008. What is going on here and why doesn't Mac fix this problem? It is a huge waste of time when working on a project to have to screw around with this.
Has anyone found a real fix other than just trying to reboot?
    I am using a 27" iMac, 2.93 ghz/core i7, Mac OSX 10.7.4.

  • Why does safari open to top sites and not my homepage?

I recently accepted updates and now see that when safari opens it's in my top sites instead of my homepage.  I checked and my homepage is still listed when I check, but why doesn't that open anymore?

Thanks Alexandria, works like it did before.
I have two other things I'm noticing now and would like to get them back like they were previously:
    1)  Previously when I hit the bookmarks tab it would be laid out in the whole window.  When I hit it now, it's only on the left side of the screen and the top sites take up the rest of the screen.  I liked it better before where I could see my bookmarks on the full screen.
    2)  I notice the top sites now seem smaller.  Is there a way to have them the same size like they were before.
I'm new to Apple and the learning curve with this imac hasn't been easy.  I like keeping up with the updates, but hate when things change and you can't figure them out.  Seems like the simplest of things are so easy on a pc, but difficult on this imac.

  • Why does Safari Mac OSX nor load my IWEB made webpages?

i am confused, and maybe someone has a suggestion that can help - i created a site in iweb and it loads in all browsers EXCEPT safari in Mac OSX (that means it loads fine in safari Windows!)
the first page sometimes loads but if you try the other pages the load progress bar shows but not the page. that the only way a page will load is if i click somewhere on it. many visitors don't realize this. after clicking the reload btn many times they leave the site.
can someone help me solve this? the url is http://tunities.com

I can view your site in Safari V 3.0.3.
The problem is with the URL. Every page comes up as...
    http://tunities.com/
    .. whereas they should be...
    http://tunities.com/welcome
    http://tunities.com/playgrounds etc.
The problem is with your server. Either your domain name has not been directed properly (masked maybe) or the index file is not in the right place.

  • Why does safari always do this?

Almost every other day that I use Safari, it unexpectedly quits! And i getting fed up with it. This seems to happen to my friends also too. The computers that I experience it on are my G3 iMac 500Mhz 512MB, and my Mac Mini 1.25Ghz 512MB. Now my friends are using G4 800Mhz and 700Mhz iMacs with Tiger installed and fully updated. But the bad thing that happend to them is that OSX unexpectedly quits! I am about to go find my panther CD's because not just Safaari but everything quits. So I'm wondering if I should just go use panther until thay come out with 10.4.9 to solve all the issues! Does this happen to you? If it does than tell me what system your using (Apple>About This Computer) so maybe if I call apple and tell them that this is happening to others they'll notice!

    no it doesn't.

  • Safari failing on this site

I've been on to this forum a bunch lately.
For the last 2 days Safari has been crashing when I click to navigate.
It's gotten so bad that I'm using Explorer now. (Desperate indeed!)
    Safari's fine with other sites.
    Anyone else seeing this?

So far I tried to avoid using safari, because for some sort of reason it caps my downloads at 400Kb/sec. Camino, IE and Firefox do not give me that problem. Anyway, just to test it for you I am making this entry in safari. The version of safari I have is 2.0.2 running on OS X Tiger (10.4.3, yes that's latest update). All is running on a G4 powerbook with 1024MB RAM.
I do know that safari has some issues with javascript. Certain websites just plainly don't work. I didn't have any problems with crashing safari though.

  • Why does safari randomly load top sites page?

    Advise needed?
I have recently updated to Mavericks and un the latest safari on my Macbook pro, but i have noticed since I updated to Mavericks that Safari sometimes randomly just loads the top sites page rather than the requested web page like bbc.co.uk etc.
Any ideas of what is causing this or how i can completely reinstall safari?

From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

  • Why is Safari 5.1 this slow? How do I fix it?

I did the update, and got Safari 5.1. And now when I enter certain websites, such as facebook, the ball thing twirls for 30 seconds, everytime I try to scroll down or just click at anything. It is incredibly annoying. I've tried everything.
    - I reset Safari.
    - I erased all history.
    - I updated flash and java and so on.
    - I restarted the computer.
WHAT AM I TO DO??? I still want to use safari, but they are making it pretty **** hard for me.

    LeKnober wrote:
THANK YOU! This helped me solve the horrible 5.1 performance! By disabling plugins, Safari returned to its normal fast scrolling and great speed! So then all I had to do was figure out which plugin was causing the problem. It turns out that it was ClickToFlash plugin in the <yourname>/library/plugins folder. I tossed that out and everything is back to normal. Now I use the ClickToFlash Extension, (not the plugin) and everything is great.
Yeah sometimes the 5.1 version is not very stable. There are like too many plugin that need to run before the browser open which would make it become slow. In fact last time it just the same with Google chrome. Last time I have like too many application for perfumes importados site that integrated with Apple and I saved their plugin, then the problems occur. So like the ClickToFlash would solve the problem

  • Why is my mac breaking down?

    Hi everyone,
I've had this black macbook for over/close to 3 years and I use it on a daily basis so much so that the battery has warped. It is a Intel iCore duo on OS X 10.6.6 (i think i can't check cause it's now decided to stay stuck on the grey mac loading screen) and I have upgrade the RAM to 4gb and use the macbook on a dual screen.
I've previously upgrade from leopard to snow leopard when it first came out it quite recently started to slow down and crash on a very regular basis and so i decided to re-install it and return it to it's previous state with a time machine backup (and this has been done numerous times). It hardly seems to have cured the problem.
The question I am now pondering is it that my time machine backup is the problem so no matter how many times I reinstall snow leopard and restore it using time machine I come back to the same problem? If that is the problem would it just be a question of backing up the files that are essential to me on my hard drive and transferring them back over?
    OR
Is it a hardware issue? I have used this computer on a daily basis for 3 years so is it time to bite the bullet and buy a new macbook?
Thanks for your help ahead of time guys and girls!

i have attempted to do the hardware test with extend testing three times now and the computer always shuts down before it can complete it. it only gets as far as testing the memory.
i have managed to do the simple test and it found no problems.

My MacBook Pro won't load any websites on Safari (except this site, Facebook and Google). Opera and Mozilla Firefox won't load any sites whatsoever. I already did the "Reset Safari" several times, restarted the computer half a dozen times, and I can't find this alleged "caches.db" file to delete. I virus scanned the computer with Sophos, Avast, and iAntiVirus and it looks clean.

Is iAntiVirus the best virus protection to use for a MacBook?
The best anti-virus protection is your own common sense, and what you already bought and paid for with your Mac. Third party products such as "iAntiVirus" convey no additional benefit, and as you already determined are very capable of causing trouble.
OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.
