Why is saving QT Movies, with QT Pro, Still Disabled in Safari 4?

I have QT Pro, it saves movies in FF. I noticed this capability disappeared in Safari 4 Beta, while is it still gone? Am I missing a preference setting.
Again I have QT Pro and should be able to save QT movies in kiosk in Safari 4.

Two options - if the URL is the actual movie file, copy/paste it into the URL panel of Quicktime, then save from there. Alternative, is to open the Activity panel (command/option/A) after the movie starts to load, find the video file, then highlight, copy, then paste it into the Download panel (command/option/L).

Please note that to be able to play your purchased HD movies or videos, let us not forget some minor details. Ensure that your iTunes software is up-to-date. HD videos will only play if you have iTunes 10.6 or later as described in this article:

Unable to edit movies with Quicktime Pro 7

I recently upgraded to Quicktime Pro from Quicktime 7 although I am not able to edit movies. After moving the markers to the correct postion, all of the editing commands remain greyed out (i.e. cut/copy/delete/trim to selection). I've verified that the upgrade took place properly, reinstalled, and still nothing. Any ideas?

QT does not support editing mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 video. QT Mpeg Limitations
Open the movie and check MovieInfo to see if that is the format of the clips you are attempting to edit. If it is, you can use this freeware to do some editing and also can export both sound and video to other formats with it. Mpeg StreamClip
Even if the video is not mpeg it may have been flagged by the creator to not allow editing. If you try to save such flagged videos you usually get an error message that the video cannot be saved.

Error Message when saving a scan with Officeject Pro L7555

When the drive for the printer goes to save a scanned picture or document to Word2007 I get the message: An error occured saving the images to the chosen file location. The extended error information is: 8,[(6,1015,-2147220489)]. Printer scans the picture or document without any problems, the error message occurs when the driver saves to Word2007. I have been scanning pictures and documents and saving them to Word2007 without any problems just before this error message occured. When I use Word2007 separately everything works fine.
I am using Officejet Pro L7555 with the latest driver for this printer and Windows 7.

Why can't I interact with Acrobat Pro XI while it is performing OCR on a set of large files?

I am running Acrobat Pro XI on a beefy MacBook Pro with lots of RAM and CPU to spare. I need to perform OCR on hundreds of pages of text spread across dozens of files. That understandably is time consuming and is not perfectly parallelizable.
However, why am I prevented from doing *anything* with Acrobat while the OCR process runs?
Two suggestions:
1. Allow the user to perform OCR on discrete files in parallel. (I realize this will consume additional CPU and memory.)
2. More urgently, allow the user to access non-OCR features of the application while OCR is in progress.

Maybe it should be 64-bit and have multi-threading capabilities . Understand the problems associated with that though and I won't hold my breath.

Can I size-crop (not time-crop) a movie with QT Pro?

There are black bars around a movie. Can I crop them away (like I would if black bars were in a Photoshop image -- select and crop), so that the movie ends up without the bars?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try Stream Clip, but I've decided to also try exporting the movie to +Image Sequence+ (it's only a short movie), then batching the entire lot in Photoshop. That will allow me to crop, resample, colour correct, sharpen and whatever else I decide to experiment with. Is that a sensible way to improve the quality of a movie?

Can QT PRO tell me which frames in a movie are Key Frames?
*QUES 2*
Will a Key Frame appear to be an obviously better image than those surrounding it? That doesn't appear to be the case, as I manually went through the first 200 frames and couldn't see any obvious Key Frame. Maybe the frames that surround them are so close in quality that you can't tell.
*QUES 3*
When exporting, and I select Automatic for the Key Frame option, does that lock in the original Key Frames, or are Key Frames inserted only where QT PRO thinks they are needed? Or does it do both -- keep the original, plus extras where needed?

I may be mistaken, but I do not belive that quicktime lets you burn DVDs. Search google for a program that lets you burn quicktime movies to DVD.

Can't download movies with QT Pro

I downloaded the latest Safari update, and now when I try to download movies in mpg or wmv (using FlipMac) there's no downward arrow allowing me to do it.

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.
Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).
In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.
This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.
Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

Unable to edit movies in QuickTime Pro

I just licensed a copy of QuickTime Pro. However, I find that I am unable edit movies.
The Cut/Copy/Paste/Delete and Trim to Selection menus remain greyed out, even when I specify a selection with the in/out markers. The movies I am trying to work with "MPEG Muxed" format, and were taken with a Sony DSC-N1 camera. Exporting them to other formats does not seem to solve the problem.
My understanding is that I should be able to edit movies with QuickTime Pro. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got QuickTime Pro so I wouldn't need other utilities when doing trivial editing to videos, so I feel like I've probably wasted my money on a license. Why a free utility can handle a common format that QuickTime Pro can't is beyond me.

I edited my movie with an iMac. Now I have a Win but I can't open the project

I edited my movie with Premiere Pro CS5 in an iMac. Now I need to make some changes, but I have a Windows station.
When I try to open the project, an error message comes up:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type".
I read similar threads and I tried everything, but nothing worked.
I'd truly appreciate if anybody could lend me a hand on this.

I've tried, but no luck. In other project files I have in this computer ("good files"), they have different values on those lines. The only one that is common in all is:

and in the "bad file" the Version is "25".
I tried to changing it...but no luck.
I'm sure in this code there is the explanation/solution for all this, but there are thousands of code lines, and the word sequence appears too many times.
It's first time I heard about XML export and I haven't been able to find any XML file.

I work with Premiere Pro on a mac and export quicktime movies to be played on pc's or mac's. When I export a qt from Premiere with audio it will not play on a pc only a mac. After extensive research I have narrowed down the problem to this: if you use the inspector in quicktime it looks like this
DV, 720 x 480 (640 x 480), Millions
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
I have to run it thru AE to make it look like this....then it plays

SOOOO the problem is the Little/Big Endian. I googled that and it looks like a file/bit structure....anyone know how/why to change it in Premiere? Because everytime I make a movie in Prem I have to drag the sequence into AE and render it there so the sounds works.....

I'm not very knowledgable on this but subtitles are sometimes on a separate track from the main movie. Try opening the downloaded video in Quicktime Player and saving it - you may be asked if you want to "flatten movie". Choose to do this. The resulting movie will probably now work OK. Others may be able to supply more comprehensive instructions.

Removing frames from .MOV file with QT Pro

I edited a .MOV file with QT Pro by selecting garbage at back end of file and using "Cut". I saved file. File now shows the correct content (w/o garbage at end), but file is still the same size. How do I actually remove content to make smaller physical file?

While you have your movie in the QT player Select an IN point ( pressing "i") , where you whant to begin the selection and an OUT point where you whant it to end. Press "Comand+X" or go to Edit/Cut. And the selection will be removed.
