Why is selected text in the Twitter search box not highlighted?

Selected text in the Twitter search box is not highlighted. It should be highlighted. So far as I've noticed, this is the only place where my system doesn't highlight text properly. I can't find any references to this problem with the Twitter search text highlighting anywhere from anyone other than me.
I'm using Firefox 12 on Windows XP Home with the XP classic theme.

The word "This" in the above image should be highlighted.

Such issues have been reported as caused by a PNG image with a white color for the background.
A right-click on that search bar and opening the Inspector and disable the .global-nav .form-search .search-input { []background-color: transparent;} rule also makes this work. 
This works only as long as the search bar has focus. 
Not sure which rule is causing the selection not to work if the focus is removed.

I cannot enter text in the iTunes search box

I'm having a really bizarre problem with iTunes latest version (10.5,0.142). When I click in the search field in the upper right-hand corner of the program, I cannot enter any text--no text cursor appears. I can click on the little down arrow next to the magnifying glass and select "All," or "Artist," or "Album," etc, but I'm not able to enter text. It's like the focus doesn'tshift from the Library pane and any letters I type just cause the highlight for that window to drop down to the closest match to the character I typed, even though the focus has shifted to the search pane.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but that does not correct this misbehavior.
Not sure if it's related, but I also no longer have the text menus available at the top of the window, whether the program is maximized or minimized and taking up only part of the screen (this is not a screen clipping problem--those text menus are no longer there, though you can get very small hotspots to appear near the upper left hand edge of the program window (when you have the program window in normal mode, rather than maximized), where those text menus would be, and if you click on the hotspots, the menus do appear.
But, by far, the first issue is the most perplexing.

Solved: This was caused by replacing the SegoeUI (Regular) true-type font. I have no idea what process or why that font was deleted, but finding the segoeui.ttf file on another Windows machine, emailing it to myself, saving it to disk, then right-clicking and choosing "Install" fixed this problem.

When I type the text in the google search box the first time the text is visible. Then if I try to type the text again for another seach or query in the text box, the typed text is not visible and it is visible only if I highlight the whole text.

I can send you an attachment of the screen but you have not given the option of adding an attachment.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Why have you deleted all the common search engine in the search engine box. It appears that all you want to do is irritate your public!

They have not been deleted, as they are not present in your computer it indicates there is a problem with your system. Try removing the search.sqlite file as shown in the "Unable to search" section of this link - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_search_or_add_new_engines
That file contains details about the installed search engines, deleting the file will force Firefox to rebuild the list.

Such a simple solution! I think I gave up on that idea before but I was dragging it to the icon for ME and not the actual queue window. Also looking for a better way to send a clip to the top of the queue without dragging it since I've got so many in line.
Do you find the quality of the renders the same when using AE?
I'm outputting to the Youtube 1080p 2997 preset- actually need to figure out the suble differences in all the presets in ME. AE has less options but they are all customizable. When I'd tweak a preset in ME, a lot of times it comes out with a glitch or does not open at all- rendering with the audio button un checked for example, etc.

To answer your question foor your iOS Device using Pages or Keynote for iOS: You can't highlight as you might in many note taking apps for iPad, etc.
The best you can do at this point is to change the selected text's color by selecting the text > Style Menu (wrench) > Tap on the Font > Tap on the Color Box to reveal choices.

How to re-size the explorer search box. - Large text size.

I cannot resize the address or search windows in Windows Explorer, Windows 7 Pro. I do have the text size set up to 200%. No, the user isn't blind, but this is one of those new Dell Laptops with the 3200x1800 resolution. I have read in
other forums about setting the text to below 185%, but nothing official from Microsoft... So, Microsoft, how do I resize these input boxes.

If so, we can control this via registry, I did some tests, this settings is related with
HKU\user SID \Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell\NavBar
the user sid is a series of number, as pictuure below:
since the value of NavBar is Binary, hard to edit, so we can find export the key or whole key "shell" from another system or another account which is function fine, then import the registry key to the problematic system, this can change the ratio of the
two boxes.

On version 19 which just downloaded why doesn't the primary search box doesn't work when all other search functions (address box and upper search box) do?

The primary search box in the center screen does not respond to any search input.
In contrast:
(1) the https:// address box responds immediately and normally when input is provided and the curved arrow tapped,
(2) the upper search box in line with the address line works normally also when a search inquiry is provided and the magnifying glass tapped, and
(3) all bookmarks work normally as they had previously prior to Firefox upgrading to 19.
Everything seems normal with the exception of the center search box and the search command.

I have tried all the so-called fixes listed here, but since downloading version 19, I can't get the search box to work. If I go through and try the fixes here, it works until I shut it down, and then I have to go through all these steps again. Trying to get someone to help is virtually impossible, and I am getting to the point where I will uninstall Firefox and use IE, as I have no other choice!

With the Google search box installed with Firefox 4.01, when I open the drop down list of previous searches and click on on to access a previous search topic instead of opening that site, nothing happens.

So, you do not see any fonts bold that shouldn't be bold?
What are your current default font settings?
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size in case you need a larger font, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

When using the Google search box in the upper right corner, midway through typing the search subject, Firefox switches to the Yahoo search box in the middle of the screen. This is very annoying and happens on both home and work computers.

Seems like Yahoo is the new Firefox default browser.

Then why not get rid of the Google search box if it's not going to work?

Can't get the Google search box in toolbar

I've been working on getting my new iMac 27" with Mountain Lion functional, and now I've run into a problem I don't seem to find others are having -- I can't get the Google search box into the toolbar. It just won't go there. I've dragged the thing from the View>Customize Toolbar, and I've also tried dragging the whole toolbar, and nothing sticks. I get a little green plus symbol, as if it's adding it to the toolbar, release, and then...nothing. As much as I like Duck Duck Go, there are still things I need the old Goog for, and I'm bewildered by why this won't stick. There don't seem to be any actual settings for it either, just the drag and drop.
This whole setup has been beyond frustrating. I wish I'd never upgraded.

There is no more a separate search field. You enter the Google search in the unified address bar.
